I love the shot of her face when landing! Her grin starts when she knows she just nailed it! She is going to be a great pilot. I hope she will keep her training going and go for tail dragger rating and sea plane and sail plane ratings!
Sienna , you are doing a great job dialling in those landings despite the wind trying to blow you off. Here's a little thanks to contribute to your flight training. It's not a bunch but have my own training to pay for as I work twords my commercial. Keep up the studies and fly every chance you can and you will be great I have no doubts.
Very nice job Sienna, your doing a great job keep focused and watch that airspeed. You got this solo is right around the corner and you will remember that moment for the rest of your life.
I've been flying since 1980 and love watching. Makes me remember the thrills of my early days. Those are the best days. She'll remember these days forever. Awesome.
I agree with you 👍🏼I started flying in 98. It took me years to get the courage after being in a plane crash in India in 1990. I will never forget the first flight, first wake turbulence, first no comms, and the first solo.
Sienna, thank you for letting us fly along on your lessons, it has been an amazing series. You're so close to SOLO, we all can hardly wait to cheer you on!!! Always fly safely and keep the blue side UP!!! (or red)
So proud of how far Sienna has come. Landings are finally coming together. I love the fact that she's starting to figure out what she needs to put the plane where she wants it. Wish I could donate to help her get further down her path to a career in aviation. Great series, Chris. BeardedAv8r
Chris, she is doing great! One thing I struggled with while training in my Cardinal was side slipping on final t.o stay on centerline. It was actually something I had to learn on my own (TH-cam) as my instructors never explained it or showed it to me. I got caught in the "switching of instructors" and I think the second one thought the first one had taught me all about it. My training was in Erie Pennsylvania (windy city) in a Cardinal (forward cg) so rudder and stabilator fineness took some time to get proficient at. Now when I land at other airports, I'm amazed at how easy it is... I haven't heard you mention anything about slips to Sienna!
This is such a cool process to watch. My Dentist is per-solo and I'm sharing these videos with him. You can see Sienna progress, it's noticeable to watch things click. She is going to make an amazing pilot!
Love these videos -- will always watch as soon as it comes out. Hope we can follow her journey all the way through! Can't start my training yet,. so I'm living vicariously though Sienna.
"The sky isn't the limit. It's your new beginning." - ooooo that is good Fun watching Sienna. I remember the time leading up to my first solo. These videos allow me to experience that process as an observer. Thanks!
I haven't been pic in 20 yrs. I hope my reentry into flying is as good as Siennas start. Maybe I'll post my first landings, and will enjoy being upstaged by this young woman.! Keep up the awesome work!
Great Instructing! What a great place to fly, i can see how one can get distracted with the scenery, it's sensory overload! If i can point out a couple of things from experience... the radio calls talking about her on final definitely contributed to the lack of flare, intimidating and oh so distracting as a new pilot. Also at 6:22 flaps were at 20 degrees on a turn into the wind? Possibly contributed to her being slow on the turn with nose up... was that an intentional maneuver? Overall great job Sienna, keep it up!
Been watching sienna since the first video and she has come so far in her aviation journey. Her attitude and confidence really shows as she improves her skills within the cockpit. Great work Sienna keep up the same attitude and fly safe!! Props to the man himself who’s instructing aswell, watching your journey towards your solo is jus as intriguing to me as I myself work towards my ppl. ✈️
Great videos, great training, and great learning points. She is really doing great and really coming along. I know there's lots of things you're probably discussing with her that are not on camera and other points, but I'd like to share something that she can do in her off time. If she watches some of the videos on Pilot Debrief, it will take some of the points that you've been training her in and even introduce other learning items that come forth by watching other do's and don'ts. Just a thought. Keep up the great work and flying. God bless and fly high!
A question: In the first power-off you said "pitch for best airspeed". I thought you would mean best glide, since it was a power off circuit, and you can always lose alt/speed on the final as needed?
This has been interesting to watch. On one hand i'm rooting for her and she is a sweety with a great attitude. On the other hand im so glad im not her instructor because signing her off would feel like signing her death certificate right now. I think she's just one of those students that will take a lot longer than average but once it clicks she'll be good to go. Cheers!
CFI checkride next month! Just curious your reasoning for adding what looks to be 10 degrees of flaps in the turn from crosswind to downwind? I haven’t seen anyone do that before and am just curious.
It slows the student down, gets them tighter to the runway, etc. I keep them high until the base turn. They fly 80MPH and 2000RPM, one notch of flaps, carb heat. It's the perfect setup for what I want to do. It's not the only way to do it, though.
Give Sienna some encouragement in the comments, and let us know something you've learned.

The plan is to keep working together!

BRAVO Sienna, and BRAVO to Chris
Thanks! I really notice the confidence in her voice when calling in. Quite a change from when she started. 👍
It's like night and day!
I've been flying since 1980 and love watching. Makes me remember the thrills of my early days. Those are the best days. She'll remember these days forever. Awesome.
And it's all on video!
@angleofattack Can't wait to see her face on her first solo when she looks over and you're not there.

I could certainly do a better job teaching it earlier as a tool.
Thanks!

You're such a good instructor !!
As a new pilot myself, im learning a lot watching your videos :) Loving Sienna's growth!!
good to see y'all back.
Aye!
Let's goooooo! Sienna. I just got my Sport cert last month. It is worth the work and patience! Good luck
Solo coming up. How exciting for you both and we viewers! Cheers.
Yup. Just a few lessons away.

Sienna you are doing great. Keep up the great work.
One lesson/reminder for me - treat every landing as a potential go-around until proven otherwise! Cheers.
True.

Nice job Seanna...Great instructing Chris.
To provide some refreshment to idle pilots could provide airspeeh and flap settings. Lve the channel
Glad you got that paperwork behind you. Great to see sienna back in school.
All those landings have been great.
Considering the gusty Crosswinds, she did extremely well. She should be proud of this day.
Sienna, congratulations on your continued progress!
Super fun to see a fellow student learning and growing! Good work Sienna!
Do you do some other maneuvers outside of the traffic pattern? Seems like I see only touch n go flying. Great work Sienna. The progress is real.
Just trying to focus on the pattern for now.
It's been more than a year of training for Sienna and she hasn't gone solo yet. How many hours does she have now? Seems really long pre-solo.
Videos aren’t released in real time.
Just a quick question why deploy the first notch of flaps on crosswind? Love the videos been watching since her first lesson!

She's nice and relaxed...she will be just fine.
‘Power back… assuming you wanna land’ … had me in splits 😂
Great job with those landings… this was a fun video to watch!
I can see her being a 99er!
Well done😊
A question: In the first power-off you said "pitch for best airspeed". I thought you would mean best glide, since it was a power off circuit, and you can always lose alt/speed on the final as needed?
How many total hours is Sienna at? When do you expect her first solo?
In a few lessons now. Just around the corner! Want to see total consistency without my intervention.
another nice video

@@angleofattack Makes sense. Thank you
Question are you allowed gum im starting my lessons soon and was just wondering
Huh?
Chewing gum
Are you allowed in when doing lessons
Awesome content. Saw you at SnF24 but you were filming so I didn’t want to bother you.
Say hi next time! What was I filming?!? Just something with my phone?
@@angleofattack you were at AOPA I believe with what appeared to be an interview of some sort. Hopefully next year we’ll run into each other.
How many hours is Sienna at now?
What are the rules on calling the tail numbers? 23 Uniform is definitely easier to say...
Full call sign the first time. Can be abbreviated afterwards
Its taking a long time. Someone is being rinsed.
👋👍
