hey nice tutorial. Is there a way to add subs directly into the video without creating a pdf file and then have to add it with a player? I want them permanently in the video. And since I have already made the pdf subs file, could I somehow use this and create the subs on screen automatically?

Hello David I got a question,
I'm trying to fo back to back subtitle
I have a paragraph and I divide them with ctrl+alt+v but I don't want to divide time or duration, I need a default duration of the text when I'm on next line,
1- default duration is 2sec I want to change it to 100ms for example
2- when I split a sentence I want it to start from where original ended and long as default duration
Is there any possibility you may help ?

Because when I add subtitles there is a black beam hower the whole video and cuts a part of it off and the do not appear integrated in the video as with your subtitles and I just can not find out how to cange it! This may be out of left field but for a project that I'm trying to get off the ground, I'll certainly need the list of subtitles to be in chronological order and, sadly, when I upload the videos for my project into the program, the associated .ass subtitles are not shown in order and I have to hunt up and down for certain ones I wish to change. Is there any way to change this so I can optimize my work time?
About SubtitleEdit checking your subtitles for errors (in sync or typesetting) - can I just choose to ignore warnings? e.g. if I'm doing something for my own TH-cam videos and I'm not conforming to a standard?
I don't want a program that automatically changes my transcription, but for most purposes, I don't want to be bothering about typesetting all that much (I care about the transcription much more).

subtitle edit, ain't a bad bit of kit. Only when i try auto-transcribing using whisper(via GPU rendering), it messes up on 2 hour movies. Whisper coughs up, repeative subtitle lines, 20 or so...with the same words. Does the video/audio boost thing, work for thing like this ? how to fix...
I haven't watched the entire video because it seemed that it wasn't going to answer a question I have, which is, can this software automatically add captions for non-speech such as music playing - suspense etc.

Hi David, the subtitles that you wrote appeared out of the video box. Ideally, we are supposed to have those at the bottom but within the video area and not overlapping on any other content. How do we do that? Does this software provide that feature?

For the 3rd time during one year I could see the video but got no sound. After trying all kind of solutions, last 2 times I had to call a technician to fix the problem. This time I found it was cheaper to just stop using this program and move to another.

How can I change start time for selected subtitles?
For example, 10th subtitle ends in 20th second, but 11th at 30th second, 12th at 32th second, 13th from 34th second.
How can I move time starting from 30th to 22th second for selected subtitles (11th, 12th, 13, etc.)?
I hope, you understood me.
Right click on selected, you have addictional options to fix the timings, or you have to do it manually.
Also, if you select everything you need to you move the timing for everyone on top menu

Hi David. Is there a way to remove hardcoded subtitles from video's in subtitle edit? Thanks a mill.
There isn't a clean way of doing it. Hardcoded subtitles were "burned into" the video, they aren't exactly removable. You can either cut the section with the subtitles, or attempt to remove them with OCR + AI.
How to create the Blank timecode file of the srt
for any video?

Do you mean creating a subtitle that only has the timecode but no text for a particular section? That is a section of a subtitle that's blank?

Yeah. the file which has just time stamp of the whole video and no words also know as (Automatic time stamping). so by generating this file it save lot of time that we take selecting the time and then entering the words. rather we can just enter the words to the existing time stamp and increase the productivity.

@@chetangowda1484 you can upload ur video on TH-cam, then download subtitles which were generated automatically by youtube, and then either just check/correct english subs(in .sbv or .srt file) or substitute them with a language u need. Timing is quite exact. Hope it was helpful

Hi Wanjiku, you cannot export a video with subtitles from Subtitle Edit.
That's the one downside with Subtitle Edit but you can use HandBrake to permanently add subtitles to your video.

Subtitle Edit doesn't support burning in Subtitles to the video but you can use Handbrake to burn subtitles to the video.
