I have said it before and I'll say it again, Ego is the boss when it comes to battery powered mowers and trimmers.

Stan , I had the first generation of this machine from Black and Decker bought new in !998 which was a 24 volt unit and weighed 80 lbs, the same easy height adjustable wheels and i sold it to my neighbours few years ago for $40 and it was reconditioned by Black and decker for free. it was a recall, so no charge. she uses it weekly , no problems. my yard is about 8000 sq. ft and it cuts it on one charge. I bought a new Ego 56 volt lawnmower for $6oo/tax from home depot and it rocks, battery charges in 15/20 minutes and it is very quiet and has a good feature, when you get into thick or deep grass it ramps up the rpms and not slow down until you are out of it. Great Video as usual.

Troy Bilt 21" walk behind mower. Used one to start my business, ran it for 2 seasons mowing 13 properties a week ranging from 5000sqft to an acre. Wasn't self propelled so it was like $250. What a work horse for such a cheap mower

I have two of them and they are one of the best cut mowers that I ever owned. My older one makes the grass look like silk when it's done Short even no clumps really nice looking cut. I wish they still made them The old version that has the built-in battery that was my best one. The one that you can take the battery out is okay but the built-in battery really Moe's well. I like it so much I'm going to buy a new battery for it.

I found a hedge trimmer that runs off of a extension cord 5 years ago on the side of the road. But I took it home and seen if it would start it did. It actually does a pretty good job. I don't have bushes or anything like that at my house. But I will use it in super tall grass just like what you were trying to start this mower in and it works well. But i mostly use it at my grandparents house. They have a very steep bank and they like to keep it short so I'll just use it. I only cut it once every 2 months and it takes about 25 minutes to do the whole bank. The bank is probably 30 feet long but I put it almost touching the ground and it will do the job. From using the hedge trimmer i learned you can never judge any piece of equipment until you try it.

I ordered a super cheap gas push mower just because I needed a push mower to get places around my house that my tractor can't reach and the little thing last forever even with just a little bit of fuel in the tank. It is made by Remington and I believe it is called the RM 110 Trail Blazer. I think you should test it out some time. Might even work on landscape company

I made 2k a week mowing city lots with my battery lawn equipment. Greenworks 80v. I have this B&D mower but the motor sucks in comparison. The battery is also old tech lead acid. Fine for homeowner but crap compared to my custom lithium battery I used on my greenworks 80v mower. The string trimmer is also way better than that B&D one. You really have no idea of the actual capabilities of battery equipment. It's much better than what many people think. I'm not saying it's good for 1 acre lots in commercial use, but urban lots commercial it's great. I could trim 6 yards with one small battery. Did 24 yards one day. About 15 cents in electricity. $600 in batteries.

Stan this current winter my neighbor has a backyard hockey rink in the backyard and a puck went over the fence and my snowblower hit a hockey puck and sheared 2 of the shear pins in the auger I've run my medium duty troybuilt snowblower through 2 1/2 inch thick ice snow packed and 24 inches tall of hard snowbanks and didn't break a single shear pin in 4 years of ownership and a freaking rubber hockey puck and I'm sure after I raise the the mouth opening by 4 inches from 21 to 25 that it can 28 inch tall snowbanks

Nothing wrong with being 'careful' and eco-conscious :-)
When you pick up a new blade, give it a proper sharpen with a grinder then just give it a lick with a file each day before use to keep it sharp - makes a BIG difference :-)
And remember - a penny saved is better than a penny earned as you're not paying tax on it ;-)

My ryobie 1/2" drive impact gun, thing is a beast, I put it head to head all the time with guys Milwaukee's. Has just as much forward tourqe as reverse. I love it. I always carry it with me when I drive, or at work. Everyone always complains that it's super loud, but havnt had a bolt it won't break loose, when other guys guns quit, it either break em loose or break em. And we use a lot of grade 8 15/16 bolts with 5/8 thick shanks at work for bolting truss together. I will run threw 100 bolts faster than 2 guys doing the same. Everyone bitches that I act like it's a NASCAR pit stop lol. It's heavy specially with the long life amp hr battery but it has saved the day sooooo many times.

9:30 your not wrapping the cord in the anti cord puller thing right. You don't put the cord from the side, it gets jammed threw the hole in the back of the handle and then hooked onto the plastic hook and pulled tight. it will no longer pop the cord off.

Did you have the 20V model per chance? I have one of the B&D LST136 units that takes the 40V battery and it is AMAZING. I've been using it for 4 years now and the battery life is incredible. My yard trimming takes about 45 mins and I still have battery power remaining. The string lasts forever... literally... a spool of factory wound string lasts me almost all summer and at $6.00 a spool you can't beat it.

@@eosjoe565 it may have been I was also told that it was a factory defective battery but kinda pissed me off spending 160 on it and couldn't even weed eat along my front fence of my half acre property

Never buy B&D. Spend the money to get the right tools and you'll be much happier. Nice to see a man putting his wife to work btw. Keep her.

Say your lawnmower breaks and you don’t mow your lawn for a while because you are waiting for a sale or something then you get the mower and now you are expecting that mower will be able to mow it.

I have a black and decker and it's the same kind I believe. I absolutely hate that thing!!! I hate the fact of the cord. That alone is a nuisance. If you are trying to run a lawn care business I would NEVER use an electric mower or trimmer. Battery power either... same thing with a different problem. instead of running a cord over, you run out of battery when you have multiple lawns with no time to charge. Also doesn't last as long even if used properly and taken care of. You have to lube and grease for longevity, the electric has nowhere to lube the metal or grease is or anything. The electronic components also wear out and don't last like a combustion engine. So for all those reasons, that's why I have to give this video a thumbs down.... I'm sorry, I love all other videos though!

To add on to this. I think you need to do a side by side comparison. That way you can see which give more power which loses more power, which does a better cutting job, which does whatever ya know. Just a straight side by side comparison of gas vs electric/battery.

Crap and decker has no place in my toolbox.. I had one of their cordless impacts once, smelled like it was on fire, battery didn’t last for crap and took forever to charge. It also weighed way more than my current dewalt
