I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.
Learn another language and leave the United States. Im being serious. South America is extremely affordable, your savings will last the rest of your life. You will not be missing anything by leaving
I moved to the outskirts of Charlotte from NYC recently, and I rock with your channel hard. Please know that not all New Yorkers are rude. Some of us have Southern roots and "home training," as my grandmother used to say back in the day. 😊 I'm sorry to hear that you feel everyone from the tri-state area is not polite. Again, I love your channel! You are one of my favorite real estate gurus! 👏🏽
@bornintrovert As a fellow introvert, I am feeling your handle! 👊🏽 💯 Great point. I have encountered some native/locals who have not been as welcoming to me. Some were pretty annoyed. Lol That's why I don't think we should paint all Northerners or all Southerners with a wide brush. There's good and bad people in every area code imo.
I moved from Brooklyn to Charlotte in '97 Yes it has grown tremendously since then and we no longer experience the friendly waves & greetings from complete strangers. Coming from NY we thought it weird; but now, those days are gone which is sad. Charlotte planned very poorly in anticipating growth now people are suffering with congested roads. No alternative crosstown highways, outdated roads that need expansion and trains that really go nowhere as an alternative . Not to mention I-77 toll road that only dumps you back into the same road you tried to avoid. Just shiny new things
I live in Winston Salem, NC, but I attend church in Charlotte and I spend a good amount of my weekends there. I agree that Charlotte is way too congested in a lot of areas. They keep putting up more buildings as though the place is not congested enough.
Im a "transplant" as you called it, ive noticed that the people are polite but not friendly. The sense of community is not strong. If you dont belong to an HBCU, sorority/fraternity, Baptist/ pentecostal church then its hard to make socially.
I can agree with that. I think the native, Charlottean is tired of the rapid growth. They feel they have been priced out of the area and it’s due to people moving in. Incomes didn’t keep up with homes price appreciation and increased tax values so ALOT of us are disgruntled. i only say “Us” as a native but I love the growth. I love it for our city and I love the diverse groups of people that are coming giving our city character!!!!
Been in Albemarle for over a month. I'm so grateful not to be in Charlotte. People are so nice. Leaving the big city was the best decision I've ever made. We have deer in our backyard at night. Best part is no HOA fees
With ties to the 718, east NY I oft refer to the QC as a "little Big" city. Brooklyn as a borough has 3 Million people plus the transit is better. If a person does not have a 🚙 car in Charlotte you are jammed up.
100% Facts. I’m tired of hearing gunshots in the city limits. When I first moved to Charlotte, 4 of my neighbors were murdered in West Charlotte just in that neighborhood. I moved from that neighborhood in 2017 and purchased my first home. Sold that home in 2021 and made a nice profit. My next home will be in the outskirts of Charlotte. I’m over the dusty school district, traffic and the unnecessary cost of rent.
I'm in Cramerton bordering Gastonia, Belmont and Charlotte about 8 minutes from SC border when going towards Daniel Stowe by lake wiley I love it here..very quiet and great places to eat, shop and healthcare and yes close enough to the airport and charlotte but outside the loop on the top close to cramer mountain golf community. So love it here ..slow, quiet, freindly and best of all the home prices are amazing!!! they have so much to offer and I agree Chralotte reminds me of where I came from..the north east NJ/NY/PA tristate area....never going back!!! BTW we downsized to a new construction townhome with front back yard with 2 car garage with privacy fences so not an average townhome community..so love my home Thank God! but its a super quiet bedroom community so lights off and dead silence by 10pm ...again never going back!
There used to be a sandwich shop in Cramerton owned by Californians that left. Hands down it was the Best sandwiches I ever ate. I loved living in Cramerton! Cramerton is a hidden jewel.
Thanks for shedding the light. I moved from Cali in 2020 for much less traffic and a slower pace of life. The traffic is now overwhelming. The schools are pretty trash unless you move to a prominent neighborhood, and you're right, the people aren't as nice as I thought they would be when I moved here. I'd like to move out of the 485 loop, but I am a city girl and do want people around, just not this many.
I lived in CLT for 14 years & moved to Greenville, SC….now moving back to CLT. Charlotte and the surrounding areas in my opinion is extremely expensive whether you rent or buy. Most of my family is from York, SC and most of those houses are mid 300s in HOA communities. I’m not here to discourage, but I feel like it’s so hard to do anything right now.
Why are you leaving Greenville, SC, when it’s better than Charlotte by miles ahead? More people and the economy is wonderful. My uncle who has lived there for 30 years loves it there and we are NC natives. NC sucks tbh.
For the most part we treat each other nice in NYC.Never ran into so many racist people until l moved to Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson. Good luck and be safe.
I moved to Charlotte from FL in 2019 for a job. When I mmfirst moved was in Steele creek but worked on south Blvd. Then lived in west Charlotte, then huntersville now cornelius. All of NC ive experienced is racist or prejudice in some way. The people who are real southern to me are fake nice, they pretend to like you and then gossip about you later. The reality is no matter where we live where we go it's EVERYWHERE now. The world is not where it should be. If you stay around educated, kind people its less likely to happen but still can happen.
It's so hard for someone from NYC, like me, to truly understand and appreciate the contrast between Charlotte and the outskirts. It's all so much more peaceful and suburban/rural feeling than where I come from.
I agree 100%. My daughter works in the Bronx and lives in Queens. Even being in Charlotte feels too slow and lol country for her. One day she will appreciate it
I hear u. I grew up in inner city NYC> lived and worked there for most of my life. After my kids had graduated HS and gone off to college we sold our NYC area home and moved to a suburb just north of Charlotte. It is quiet and serene where we live as opposed to what one finds in NYC. All of this peace and quiet would've seemed BORING to me when I was decades younger but NOW I am loving it!
@@enyceofnyc NYer here, why did you choose Mint Hill? I'm at the researching stage. Matthews, Monroe, Ft Mill, Tega Cay. I won't name cities I was told to pass on.
Same happened in my hometown Nashville, Tennessee used to be a little bigger than Raleigh in now back in the 90’s now Nashville is very massive and won’t stop growing. I left Nashville for Raleigh 3 years ago and now building in Wilmington. I live in Raleigh for the next two months then I’m out. Worked in Charlotte and the people in Charlotte like Nashville are much nicer than Raleigh. Raleigh people are rude.
Bryant, I hear that a lot about Raleigh. I was surprised about Nashville. I actually used to watch that flipping show with the husband and wife on HGTV and when I saw those prices I couldn’t believe it. Inner Charlotte is getting the same way now and unfortunately, soon the outskirts will be that way that’s why people better take advantage early ride that equity wave up! Congrats on your new home in Wilmington
@@livingincharlotteshawngeraldthanks. What’s funny, Charlotte and Nashville are very identical and their city councils worked things together like ideas. We get along well with Charlotte. Both are much larger than Raleigh. I’m trying to get into real estate in Wilmington late this year or early next year. A lot of potential there.
Don't move to Raleigh either. Not much food offerings, shopping , or entertainment. Where are the jobs; other than RTP. Smaller cities / towns are booming, but @ $500, 000 or better. Just saying!
This is SOOOO truuuue!!! Charlotte native here, and I thought that it was just me getting old and grumpy or something! Lol...But yes, literally EVERY-WHERE you turn there is people, construction, and traffic... Even the deer have nowhere to go! ...I'm personally looking towards the mountains and more rural parts of the state...Monroe, Gastonia, Cramerton, Huntersville, Rock Hill, Fort Mill, etc...They're ALL mini Charlottes now. Heck they're even building up in Waxhaw, and for my natives on here, you guys KNOW there wasn't Jack Squat in Waxhaw...Until noooow!...For those like myself seeking true peace and at least 3+ acres, I'd suggest searching at least 1-2 hours outside of Charlotte. But hey, I only need my land, some sweet tea, fried green tomatoes, and a nice sunset to make me happy...May God bless all of you as you find yours! 🙏🏾
This video was very well articulated. I moved here 2 years from the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. I'm ready to move back, Charlotte was not as affordable as I thought. While I love all the amenties of professional sports, good shopping and entertainment - I'm honestly tired of seeing cranes in the sky and development. I thought it was just me with the air, the air quality at home is so much better. And I miss the water, being landlocked is not fun. I'm also not a lake girl.
I lived in Charlotte from 2002-2012. Things have changed a lot and I’m glad I moved out to Gaston County. Charlotte is too expensive and it’s crowded now. Best decision I made when leaving Charlotte. I have my peace of mind
I told a job recruiter that they could not pay me enough to live in Charlotte. I've lived in Winston-Salem my entire life and nothing seems to be able to pry me from this place. I did live in Fayetteville for a year though, due to circumstances, and wouldn't recommend it. My biggest complaint about Charlotte is that it turns into a parking lot every other hour. I love the switch to some guys living room. That was pretty clever! 😅
I moved from Northern Virginia to Charlotte in the Berewick community two years ago because me and my husband was now an empty nester and we had always lived in a condo with small space and for once we wanted extra space and it wasn't feasible in northern va. The prices were insane! Wrong idea cause the market at the time was insane! When i was looking it was down and two weeks later the prices jumped ridiculously I bought a home overpriced ugh. I'm the only person in the community that bought our home that price. I was so mad. But oh well it will eventually be better. I'm not looking to move anytime soon anyways. But Charlotte now the prices i have noticed are higher now
I am so sorry to hear that. This has happened to a few people especially coming out of Covid. Good news is that home price appreciation is up year over year on avg 4% so you should have gained some equity. With rates coming down now hopefully you get a bigger jump!!!!
I completely agree with EVERYTHING you said. I want the views, nature, kind people that live way farther than an arm reach away from my home. I have noticed a significant home price increase in Charlotte and am looking for places in the outskirts as well.
I just signed a contract for Edgewater. Look up the massive community in Lancaster,SC. 45min to Charlotte. It’s on the lake and has its own golf courses. Shopping center and restaurant coming soon
I visited that location. I found it to be creepy. I made sure I left before dark. 😮 The lady said they had been open for a long time. And the small amount of houses that I saw didn’t match up to the information she gave . Just weird.
We live in a older suburban style subdivision in Charlotte and I am conflicted in that it's convenient (most things we need - groceries, gas, restaurants, shops, entertainment, kids activities, parks, medical, services, etc - are a 10 minutes or less drive away), but walking/biking places is not easy. I also now really dread venturing outside my footprint to other parts of the Charlotte area that interest me because of all the traffic/congestion, construction, people driving CRAZY and all the fees for parking and whatnot. I think the surrounding towns, both inside and outside Mecklenburg, are where it's at as far as being nice places to live at a better price, particularly if you are in the walkable core and can get to amenities easily. I can also appreciate country living with enough space to grow crops and raise some animals, but I am not inclined to living in a rural/exurban subdivision, because I can't work remote and would have to commute longer than I do now and I wouldn't like being far away from amenities. Reading Nextdoor, seems like there's a lot of drama with bad neighbors, bored kids and HOAs in these places as well.
I spoke with Shawn regarding a real estate investment I was considering and he was very helpful and knowledgable. I appreciate his content and his help. Thanks again Shawn.
I'm in Westport in Denver, NC since 2012 after moving to Charlotte in '86. I enjoy the lake life, and I rarely go to Charlotte unless a relative is visiting from NYC. It's cute here, but it is getting too crowded
literally was just telling my mom i went from getting to work in 15 mins to now it takes me an hour if i don't leave before 6;30am. It's definitely congested here but i also believe its people on the out skirts that work in charlotte. So, its traffic coming in for work and traffic passing thru since 77 and 85 are to major highways. moral of the story: Stay on the outskirts for a peaceful living
It’s hilarious hearing people say Charlotte is expensive, no wildlife, traffic and complain about HOAs. I live in Charlotte, own a house actually in the city(plaza midwood) with no hoa see deers, coyotes, foxes and it’s not unaffordable. I also don’t feel like it’s a lot of traffic unless you have to get on 85/77 between 430-6pm.
ALL OF NORTH CAROLINA IS RAPIDLY GROWING AND GETTING EXPENSIVE, I SAY THIS BEING FROM THE WASHINGTON DC METROPOLITAN AREA (DMV).I HAVE ROOTS IN NORTH CAROLINA AND I STAYED IN NORTH CAROLINA IN 2004 AND FROM 2010-2017.
Though I was born in Charlotte and raised in NYC, l lived in Charlotte from 2006-2017. Also, I have a lot of family there. Anyways, in 2011, I rented a two bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with a patio and swimming pool access and a nearby pond. The rent at the time was $612. In 2017, I had to move out, went back to NYC, to care for my daughter and grandson. Another management took over the property and they were no longer accepting subsidies. Fast forward, they have raised the rent there, which that was their intention. I agree that Charlotte has become way too expensive and congested.
Im a NYer and planning on moving out there in the next year this video has helped me open my mind to other places thank you. I can say Charlotte has more jobs than the outskirts
@@MsMaryRay Fellow New Yorker here. Trust me, please stay in NC . I’ve been here 12 years. Just SC’s infrastructure and government alone is enough. The area where most migrate too would be Fort Mill SC . Very nice but not cheap. You can find a myriad of things on the outskirts. It takes me 20 to 25 minutes to get to the center of the city from the suburbs. Good luck Sis.
I'm from Charlotte, but I got priced out. Now I live and work in Lancaster, SC. It's much easier now going to work without all the traffic, but the schools aren't very good except for one small charter school that only goes to 5th grade.
Hey, what’s up Travis? Thanks for the comment! Aside from the schools how do you like Lancaster? I know you said that easier going to work but what about the amenities restaurants shopping, etc.
What’s cheap? It’s 2024. Not 2014. If you’re looking for a 150-200K house you’re looking at southern Mississippi or Alabama or Louisiana…maybe some fixer upper in Detroit or Cleveland lol. $300K is cheap & the norm for a starter suburban house in the South.
HA! Finally! A Real Estate Professional speaking truthfully on this. We moved out to the Locust area from the Matthews area during the pandemic because the numbers made sense. It put us waaayyy under our budget for the same exact property being sold in Meck County for up to $200K more. We tried to warn our friends, buy they ignored us because they view this area as being "far". I told them it takes us 20 minutes to get to Charlotte, but that fell on deaf ears. Those same people are sitting there looking weird as they try to make a purchase in Meck County for the crazy crazy price. In two years, the population has literally doubled out here because of the price points, and the work commute truthfully is the same 45-50 minutes to center downtown as when I was in Matthews.
You are very smart!!! It such an easy drive back to Uptown too! I just sold an Adams home on the golf course in Locust and my clients love it!! Thanks for chiming in!!!
If you do come to the Carolinas from nyc please keep your left wing politics up north. Tired of northerners, Yankees and Californians moving to the south and ruining it by voting for politicians who want to increase taxes and can’t define a woman. You people are locusts.
Yeah…Charlotte is cool for a visit, but too slow for me. I went out there for a work conference & it was clean, it just reminded me of a bland version of Atlanta except smaller. It’s a little overhyped to me. Too far from the beach & too far from the mountains…so I’m willing to pay extra to live on the West Coast to have it both ways. I don’t mind saying hi to people but if I’m in the grocery you got messed up if you think I’m having a full blown small talk discussion with you. Having neighbors not far from you is a part of community. If I have to trek to ask my neighbor a question that’s unnecessary. As a former Southerner turned Westcoaster, I never understood the fascination of living in rural nowhere in a big house with nothing but birds chirping & bugs hissing with Walmart as your closest form of entertainment. Give me a city with traffic, public transit, culture, & energy nearby any day over creepy suburbia any day of the week. Just my 2 cents.
Indian Land SC or a little farther down into Lancaster. The only problem farther down into Lancaster, there's not too many restaurants to choose from. But it's definitely quieter than Charlotte.
My friend I am with you! My wife and I are looking for some land in the outskirts to downsize. I love our city but as I get older I love my space. I'm a country boy from Southwest Virginia and like you I need that yard space, quiet evenings and wildlife. I will keep your information so as to call you when we are about to make our move.
What you are saying about people u grew up with in Charlotte leaving …the same is in effect in NYC where I grew up. Those of us who are still alive in our 50s-60s who moved are doing much better than the few who have stayed because they have NO choice. Big city life wears one down!!!
We were eating at a out door Cafe when a man pulled up to the curb. He got out and deficated right on the sidewalk, then he left. Downtown is just too weird!
I moved from DC to Charlotte 18 years ago. No matter where you go, the development boom gonna catch up with you within 5 years. I remember that big city feel in the day and the small town feel at night. I hate the rude transplants, but where are you gonna go, bro?
I’ve been in Charlotte for three years and I’ve had a really good experience. I’ve come from Blythewood South Carolina, And I really enjoy living in the city, but traffic is pretty easy to get around if you just know the right route to take. I mean, I’m 27 so maybe that’s why I don’t hate the world seeing that there’s a lot of accommodations for young people, but I’m pretty sure growth is a good thing for any major US city
I agree with your hundred percent! Although I’m well past 27, I absolutely love the growth! I only think traffic is bad because I was so used to not having any of my life!
Im from Charlotte too and we are now on out skirts too Cabarrus County...i cant stand the traffic, its too busy for me..i want country living, but access to the city when i want it.
I’m 53 as well. We live in Jamestown, a suburb of Greensboro. We have 2 adult kids in Charlotte. They both earn more than I do, but can barely afford rent. We have 1 adult kid in Raleigh. He out-earns all of us put together, and is also a home owner. We bought our house for $165k in 2017. We get cash offers on a daily for around $350k as-is. If we did more improvements on our house, $400k would be very achievable. I worry about my 2 kids in CLT being able to afford to purchase homes. We enjoy coming to CLT to hang out with them. If we did decide to sell our home, I would move to York or Fort Mill.
Moved from VA to SC. I saw Charlotte and Raleigh blow up. Now those cranes are moving to Columbia SC. Be ahead of the curve and let the money come to you. But I do enjoy Charlotte. May get a small spot in the surrounding area
My house is paid off. I feel like I'm stuck here. We would never be able to sell our house for what it's worth or buy a house elsewhere that we could afford. I don't mind the congestion, I'm a city girl, but I do think the culture and character has been wiped out by commercial development
I think they are way too many apartment buildings going up for sure! I think we need some of the commercial development because it should attract more in industry, better economy, etc. but I do understand what you mean. It is definitely lost that small town intimate feel.
I only visited Charlotte on the weekends and love used to Live in the Gastonia area. Now I live in catawba area it is way better of slow life. Thanks for the truth!!
What's your recommendation for older retired folks who would like to live near conveniences and amenities without a car or by using Uber and delivery?? Is Uptown a good choice similar to areas of New York City or other locations in North America?
U tried North Wilkesboro or Wilkes county?, sounds like what u are looking for, much cheaper and great outdoors, no traffic, clean air, good soil, lower crime, well mixed community etc etc and its very close to Charlotte bout hour and half away.
Good content. I think it’s a matter of preference. I moved here 12 years ago from NY / suburbs. I worked in the city and enjoyed retreating to the suburbs. Not exactly country but doable. If the state legislature would increase the minimum wage to a salary commensurate with inflation, most people would be able to afford a suitable home. I need to be within proximity to good schools, great healthcare and stores. 14 miles outside of the center of Charlotte is good for me.
i live in north charlotte. 10 minute drive to work and 10 minutes from uptown. not a lot of traffic. if you work in charlotte i wouldn't recommend moving to the outskirts. great video
What u said about present day Charlotte is true in that the growth has brought in tons of people, major development, higher home prices and rents BUT there are suburban areas such as Matthews and Huntersville that are hidden gems located close to Charlotte. Decent 3-4BR homes in these towns will cost in the upper $400ks and up. In order to get something similar in the $300s one has to go further away from Charlotte as u mention. What used to cost $300k in 2020 in the Charlotte area /suburbs now will cost VERY close to $600k and MORE. Crazy but it is what it is>>>the good old days of 2020/pre pandemic with lower home prices coupled with ROCK BOTTOM INTEREST RATES are gone FOREVER. The train has left the station.
@@larobey7961my uncle is an NC native and moved there after college and started his family after 30 years and loves Greenville, SC. But he said it’s growing rapidly too.

He said he’s leaving the city of charlotte. Just going beyond the Charlotte city limits in absolutely any direction here is an absolute game changer. It’s easy to find some level of what can seem to be country living immediately on the edges of Charlotte and beyond. In my opinion everywhere just outside of Charlotte is country living. I was born and raised in a small town in upstate South Carolina so I’m familiar with country living. The rapid growth here is starting to bother me too. I moved here in 1996.
Born in Fort Mill SC Went HS in FM Moved out, went to college in Charlotte (CPCC/ a bit UNCC) Prime years were there, I didn't miss FM as a young adult, loved the city and still more or less do. Steady girlfriend, now I live in Rock Hill SC. I lived everywhere in Charlotte, from Derita to 5 minutes away from North Lake Mall. Rode the bus from 2009-2017 or 18, worked many jobs from front end developer in south charlotte to Tech Support at CPCC. My parents moved from Charlotte to FM because of the schools, while I understand that now a few things from a race perspective (granted, this is 2002-2008 for me) affected me a good bit being in FM all those years, they graduated from JCSU so safe to say I have alot of roots here in Charlotte. Taking down the Epic Center and multiple clubs/bars around the city makes this city....weird for active folk. I am not that, but I have friends that are. While apartments/homes might be being built here, I'm not sure what there will be to do from an outside perspective as someone that is 21+, then again, that climate has changed being that I'm of the millennial generation vs Gen Z's and Alpha's behind me. The Pandemic also closed down (and to a degree opened) alot of places. Going down say N Davidson or Central Ave Pre Pandemic vs Now is a night and day difference. Being in Rock Hill is...nice in the way of it feels like a smaller version of Fort Mill but it still feels local, but I for sure miss public transit, and I actually can't stand driving. I never really drove in charlotte unless I had to and ofc couldn't stand it either there (independence is asking for trouble) From the Influencer standpoint however, and anyone trying to do anything online as a career, something to think about is the online infrastructure of the place you're moving to. Some places for example still don't have fiber and the further you go away from the city; you might even only have dsl as your only option. If you're going to York County specifically look up what Internet Service Providers offer you. Comporium pretty much has most of York and I think spectrum is slowly getting into the SC side of things. True Vista is the one that is mainly dsl. You want to be careful of that if you go further out of Charlotte. The Micro Center is going to bring alot more people wanting better internet and a closer lane of getting computer / smart home essentials, which potentially means more social media influencers which isn't necessarily a bad thing for local economy. I honestly miss Charlotte all things considering, but alot of it was the convivence of the transportation / people I've met. I like Rock Hill, but wouldn't be opposed to finding something maybe a little further out personally.
Yeah moved to Charlotte nc in 99 or 2000 and it was great back then..most roads are too narrow to hold the high population of people ..crazy speeding me 1st behavior ...
Asheville has lot of apartments--in major construction limbo: They just can't (or won't) finish them. Also, they keep pumping fruitless $ into I-26. Does Charlotte have such issues?: Big plans and hoped: Of course, no fruition. These were thorny issues--long before Helene raged through here....
Yes, it is extremely sad. What’s happened there. We’re not seeing that in Charlotte. It is growing super fast lots of building happening with the apartment complex is etc. and they’re getting them done pretty fast

I moved to Fort Mill. The schools are amazing and the community is definitely more friendly than being closer into the city
Yes indeed!! I am headed to FT MILL in a few minutes. Where did you move from?
Still charlotte metro.lol
Traffic is horrible here and homes are at least 30-50% overpriced
Ft. Mill:
Traffic at rush hour, ungodly
House prices just as bad as charlotte if not more
I'm in Cramerton bordering Gastonia, Belmont and Charlotte about 8 minutes from SC border when going towards Daniel Stowe by lake wiley I love it here..very quiet and great places to eat, shop and healthcare and yes close enough to the airport and charlotte but outside the loop on the top close to cramer mountain golf community.
LOL I love this!!!! People are stuck in the city!!! I love the outskirts and the quiet!!! Thanks for commenting
There used to be a sandwich shop in Cramerton owned by Californians that left. Hands down it was the Best sandwiches I ever ate. I loved living in Cramerton! Cramerton is a hidden jewel.
I live in Belmont.. maybe we should connect! I feel this area lacks diversity; I'm a Charlotte native.
I'm in Belmont. I love this area. Close enough to Charlotte but still enjoying a small town feel and friendly neighbors.
It's because people are coming from NJ and NY
I agree!
Why are you leaving Greenville, SC, when it’s better than Charlotte by miles ahead? More people and the economy is wonderful. My uncle who has lived there for 30 years loves it there and we are NC natives. NC sucks tbh.
If you head east, the prices are way better

Well just because transplants move in don't mean the red necks left .many been there for generations since the revolutionary war and they not leaving

Yes. A true southerner. I am in Concord. A loooooot of people got pushed into the country.
One day she will appreciate it
@@livingincharlotteshawngerald I love it here. Only been here in Mint Hill for two years but I really appreciate the differences.

@@livingincharlotteshawngeraldthanks. What’s funny, Charlotte and Nashville are very identical and their city councils worked things together like ideas. We get along well with Charlotte. Don't move to Raleigh either. Not much food offerings, shopping , or entertainment. Where are the jobs; other than RTP. Smaller cities / towns are booming, but @ $500, 000 or better. Just saying!

300k is the norm. In little old Fuquay, NC townhomes are starting in the mid-300k range. I think NC is just blowing up.

A work conference isn’t gonna tell you anything about this place.

Thank you for your service and thanks for the ride lol! Give me a call sometime Fred would love to catch up with you my number 704-340-3822
I brought a house in Harrisburg a few years ago.. it's so different from Charlotte you wouldn't think it's just 25 mins away from uptown
What towns would you recommend outside of Charlotte? Any places around Lake Norman?
One of the best and greatest real estate brokers to work with!
Highly recommended!
@@stephan_richardson my guy how are you? Hope to see you soon
Its crazy, i went from passing car accidents to often witnessing car accidents.
It’s so crazy
It was the plan all along to build up the city in to a metro city. To raise the prices to bring all the banking here.
Seems like it for sure
❤ Charlotte is my hometown and I have seen a big change I packed my belongs up in 2021 and moved to Greenville Sc
💯 fact on the school issue.
Please tell me where the hell all the tax money are going, cause taxes are ridiculous for CMS, and school lunch menu is horrendous!
Mike I wish I knew!!!
The title is a little misleading because you're moving to a suburb. Still within the greater Charlotte metro.
@OpinionatedOG184 we moved there in '95 and loved it before a job opportunity took us West in '99. Thought about moving back, but just never did.
Hey Bruce thanks for watching. Yes although Huntersville is a suburb of Charlotte, its still leaving Charlotte for a more peaceful lifestyle!!
@@brucegoolsby1470then stay out West.
Born in Fort Mill SC
Went HS in FM
Moved out, went to college in Charlotte (CPCC/ a bit UNCC)
Prime years were there, I didn't miss FM as a young adult, loved the city and still more or less do.
I never really drove in charlotte unless I had to and ofc couldn't stand it either there (independence is asking for trouble)
From the Influencer standpoint however, and anyone trying to do anything online as a career, something to think about is the online infrastructure of the place you're moving to.
@@Gamerznation704 fantastic perspective! Thanks for sharing.
Too expensive!! I found new construction in Monroe NC $40,000 cheaper for the same exact house in Charlotte.
Yeah moved to Charlotte nc in 99 or 2000 and it was great back then..most roads are too narrow to hold the high population of people ..crazy speeding me 1st behavior ...
1:35 “I’m so sorry for you” that’s such a Marine thing to say 😂😂 Oorah from a fellow Marine!! 🦅🌐⚓️

Same here! Been in Cabarrus for over 10 years! Great video fam
