I think the problem that a lot of people faced was that they never took Trump's candidacy seriously until it was too late. I personally didn't even believe even the morning after it happened. I remember thinking that this has to be some kind of prank, but Google confirmed it.

What's really shocking is how you'll all vote for someone just because they have charisma and are "relatable" and know little ro nothing about the person you're voting for
Churchill was not defeated as Prime Minister like Jimmy Carter as when Churchill became Prime Minister, he had not won a nation-wide election by all the voters in Britain. The British Prime Minister is like our Speaker of the House of Representatives who is elected by other elected officials not by the people.

I could recall 10 other electoral results that were far more shocking than many of these listed here: Hugo Chavez victory in Venezuela, far-right Jean-Marie Le Pen managing to dispute 2nd round with right-wing candidate in 2002 in France, Austria's far-right FPO party good result leading them to coalition government (and subtle boycott from some institutions) in 2002, Duterte's victory in the Philippines, Italian 1924 general election, and I go on and on...
I thought Obama was gonna be on this list. His 08 win made shocking waves

I dislike the fact that the Polish President Andrzej Duda, a supposed friend of Donald Trump is rallying the Polish-Americans against him, I believe the Polish leadership like any political figures from foreign countries should back off from interfering in US elections, it's not Zelensky nor Duda who elect the future leader of the US people but the American people themselves and their actions especially those of the Polish President are grossly indecent and out of line.

Friendly advice: don't act surprised in case Trump wins this election. Yes, Harris is leading and will probably win the popular vote, but Trump has the advantage on the Electoral College. Besides, the difference between Trump and Harris is even narrower than that of Trump vs. Clinton.

I remember once talking to a Brazilian girl that I met at a kickback, and her vehemently pushing back when I said Brazilians are Latinos. IIRC she said "I'm Brazilian, I'll never be 'Latina.'"
