      It is not the critic that counts it’s the man in the arena covered in blood and sweat …not the critic that knows neither nor defeat. Frankie is one of those hero’s that knows and lives as a talented , gifted musical entertainment icons Hess given so much to us and the world by his music and the way he’s shared by the example he’s set. A big thank you for all you’ve done and continue to do. (Nick)

    Thank you George, I was beginning to think that I was the only one that realized what could take place with the sound versus the actual video in a live performance. Particularly if you're not using professional equipment with a professional sound man.

    A total legend. I'm sure he is 'singing' as well as anyone can at 89 years of age, but I'm also pretty sure what we're hearing is a recording. You only have to watch and listen when sometimes he is a bit slow to get the microphone up to his mouth to tell that.
    It's great that he is still wanting to carry on and his army of fans clearly adore it.

    Hi, my name is John Stefan, a formal lead Trumpet player for Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons and I would like to "Correct" anyone who thinks that Frankie Valli is "lip-synching."
    The "delay" that you are seeing is because the person was recording the show on an iPhone was about 50ft. away from the stage, so you will see a "slight delay" from the movement of his lips singing the notes to the actual sound which will reach the device a "split second later."
    (sound travels at slower speed than light)
    If you look closely you will see that it is consistent throughout the entire show, his mouth will move a split second prior to you hearing the actual note.
    Now if it was professionally recorded, they would sync the voice to the music because they would be on two different tracks .
    Thanks for listening, John Stefan like to "Correct" anybody who thinks that Frankie Valli is lip-synching in this live performance.

      I would like to confirm that sir Frankie Valli is a great musician and singer of all time. He is even older the Beatles. If John Lennon was alive, he would be 5 years younger than Mr. Frankie Valli. I don't think Frankie Valli was lip-synching in his live concert. He performed lively.

    • @seanm3802
      @seanm3802 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      It’s totally lip sync on the lead vocal and the recording has a lot of autotune. That’s not a criticism of Frankie Valli and most of the other vocals and instruments are live.

    • @Rob_430
      @Rob_430 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I not only grew up with this music but came from the same town. As an 89 year old Man, the sound or singing doesn’t match him but one done years back. He could just about talk let alone sing and reach those high notes. Sorry, but he’s lip syncing.

  • @tomf429
    @tomf429 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +17

    Pure technology. Of course, it’s his voice you’re hearing. It’s him singing. Just not live, but, from recordings made over the years. At age 89, just being able to stand there and move his lips in time with his recordings is impressive. He doesn’t need the money, so, he must enjoy the audiences and performing.

    My thanks to whoever posted this! I was able to see him, front row, at a large private party and got to meet him afterwards. (1990's). He is an amazingly nice person; humble beyond reason. To those below who don't think he is singing; you are incorrect. Watch videos of him over the decades. He has always sang this way. A high falsetto voice can not be achieved by opening your mouth wide. His falsetto is somewhat likened to voicing as ventriloquists sing. At his age here, it is amazing how great he sounds, and the fact that he can stand, and sing, and even hold a microphone that long is amazing. His catalog of songs is the best, and brings back the fondest memories of my youth. Thank you Frankie Valli for a lifetime of fantastic music.....

    In the first couples of songs, Valli looks as if he's just lip-syncing. I'm thinking
    his part is either pre-recorded or they've got someone off stage singing his part.
    Now he's doing his 3rd song and he looks still like he's lip-syncing. He just
    doesn't look like he's opening his mouth wide enough to get the projection of
    his voice that we're hearing.

    I don’t think he’s lip syncing. Check him out when he talks. It’s the same kind of lag and for sure it’s not lip sync when he talks! Don’t you think.?
    That said, these guys are the best. I saw Frankie when he performed in Austin in if I remember correctly, 2015. I actually thought he was not well when he performed at Bass. He seemed very tired and I was worried about him. So it is a blessing to see him still performing in 23.
    Without these guys, there never would have been Jersey Boys and I saw that 4 times from Vegas to Houston and more. You can never tire of this music and performances.
    God bless you, Frankie.

    To GuitarGreat member.
    Regarding the fact that if you are videoing his show with an iPad or iPhone the speed of the visual is going to get to you much faster than the sound of the audio.
    The standard metric for the speed of light is that of light traveling in vacuum. This constant, known as c, is roughly 186,000 miles per second, or roughly 1 million times the speed of sound in air
    Whoever put this video on TH-cam did not have the equipment to sync the voice with the video portion

    okay, yes he is a Legend, but this is really bad lip sync. I mean the mic is a foot away when he starts singing and the audio is perfect. No chance at his age he would have this tone to his voice and his mouth barely moves. But hey, it is what it is.

Before some of you say. "He's not lip syncing." He's not? Then why does he still sound like a young man when he sings? That's impossible. The human voice changes over time.

After seeing this, no doubt he's lip synching for many years now. No way he'd sound as good as he sounds in concert, he can barely speak full sentences w/o losing his breath. When I found this, I was thinking «When are people going to retire?»… It is amazing that he is doing a 90 minute show at 89, but I’m not sure if it really is that good of an idea - even if I do think people there had a good time. It was probably entertaining though even if he lip synced. At least he lip synced to his own voice, I don’t think he had someone sing for him, as someone mentioned. He was just not singing it right then and there, LOL. It could be older, but maybe he just did record it over a few days or he could at least take his time… The band and the other singers were great, I think… I could have done without that much choreography for the singers though, LOL… Oh well, Bless Him and The Foreskins (ooops, Four Seasons) too!
