Puddintane Usually when a coumtry is at war the leadership asks that the country's people sacrifice something that can be seen as a luxury (tin foil during WW2) This was taped during the Afghanistan-Iraqi Wars so straws was the joke there
+esquibelle better than being a broke ass moron who has nothing better to do than make useless comments on TH-cam that no one cares enough to even read.
Ah, the warm, comforting crackle of a VHS tape. I love it. Thanks for digitizing it before the tapes wear out! I'm 51 and need to digitize my community cable shows from when I was 20.
What's impressive is that Short doesn't come out of character. That and his ability to just keep it rolling is always a wonder to behold. The Glickman. I think we'll keep him.
When he toppled over on/from that chair, then the JLD comment, THEN the sound of Jiminy going down for the fall... I just lost it and scared my dogs from roaring in my house. I replayed that scene about 20 times. Martin was born to troll... So funny!
She was always hot. I just wish she wasn't so phoney in this interview. I know it's all an act but in the best Jiminy interviews the guest is being themselves.
This is the best Jiminy interview. Julia, such a good sport and looking ssssssssmoking hot. None of the occasional uncomfortable moments that would happen from time to time. Not too long. Such a creative character that Martin created, such a talented man !
If he really came up with the “and that was during conception" off the cuff and that quick and it wasn't any editting then wow...just wow.. that's quick
First - thanks uploader!! NO worries about the VHS. Now - re: JLD: Not only is she gorgeous. she is quick-witted and sooooo talented. I'm convinced - "Seinfeld" would be in the dust bin of yet another sitcom if it weren't for her. They lucked out big time when they signed her n Jerry should get his snobby holier than thou nose out of the clouds and be thanking the ground she walks on. Especially love her quip her at :39 ....so quick and hilarious she catches JIminy off guard. Love it! And 4:13 - so good! they fed off each other perfectly.
I've probably seen at least 30 of these videos and possibly 50+ of them. Two of my favorites are when he "interviews" Mel Brooks and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Constant genuine laughter from both of them during the complete interview. The way in which Martin disrespects his guests by mispronouncing their names, knocking their education, accomplishments, acting ability, the way they live their lives, the fact that they were poor at one time, the list is endless, but he does it in such a hilarious way and the fact that he's in a fat suit definitely helps him pull this truly genius shtick off.
My favorite part is when he is upset about a dead star and tries to pull it together and asks her about Clairol and after she answers he "loses" his composure and almost starts to cry! And it cracks Julia Louise Dreyfus up too!
She's a freak - one of those rare women who become more beautiful with every passing year. You wouldn't have noticed her in her 20s but now she's stunning.
Russell Scott uh, you are just making things up. He said he was just copying a guy in his neighborhood who spoke like this, and he obviously found it funny.
"Without that rinse it's full Bea Arthur it's totally gray - that is true jiminy - you're gray! - TOTALLY GRAY!" I can't believe it I wouldn't want to see it..." And Julia's eyes and face are so over-the-top beautiful and full of laughter throughout the interview. This is one of his best mainly because of how much Julia enjoyed it. Also, just look at the list of huge stars/celebrities that agreed to be on his show. Martin Short is loved by his contemporaries perhaps on higher level than than any other.
How Martin holds it together during these interviews is amazing. Damn, he is insanely funny.
"Straws.... we're at war dear" That line kills me every time!
"Oh, I hadn't heard the laugh yet"...her expression was priceless -- completely authentic
His pure devastation over Vivian Vance. Genius.
Jiminy crying is the best lol.
Her friends call her Viv.
Julia couldn't pull it together..
He never recovered!
Pull it together boy, pull it together boy.....
The best line as he's falling over: "I'll see ya"
Here in summer of 2020, and this is GOLD.
"I didnt marry richard dryfuss"...."you lived together in sin because that was the era" ROTFL
"The interview is over, so we don't talk so much anymore."
Martin short is a comedic genius. Always makes me laugh no matter how many times I watch it. Seriously. The best ever.
Why does everyone bring up Martin Short? Jiminy is his own person.
"...and STRAWS, I mean, we're at war, dear." LOLOLOL
Hate to ask, but, what?

Ah, I thought he meant *he* was at war with straws, lol. I get it know.
Well,@@PuddintameXYZ now parts of the US is at war with straws. Restaurants in some states can can get fined if they give you an unsolicited straw.
lacidy All these years later, and yep. We are now at war with straws.
Danny Devito is one of the richest men in Hollywood I think. If you go by square inch. LMAO. That was awesome.
I didn't get that
His height is condensed 🤓
I could replay 1:57 everyday for the rest of my life and always have a smile on my face. Really wish Martin Short kept this going for eternity.
+Carlo Scarpa I was about to make the same comment :D
Carlo Scarpa I'm sure he would of the opportunity presented itself. It's a brilliant creation.
the sound of him falling
I replayed it several times.
“I don’t know how that happened”
"But you took Richard Dreyfuss's surname why?"
"It's just so pretty!"
Oh, I hadn't heard the laugh yet....hahaha
Oh well that can be taken out later.
Julia is delightful
yes
+Audaxi whatsoever you expect it's Jiminy Glick
Lol what?
Privileged über rich with nothing better to do in her life than be a narcissist
+esquibelle better than being a broke ass moron who has nothing better to do than make useless comments on TH-cam that no one cares enough to even read.
She's smokin'.
Ah, the warm, comforting crackle of a VHS tape. I love it. Thanks for digitizing it before the tapes wear out! I'm 51 and need to digitize my community cable shows from when I was 20.
I’ve watched a lot of these Glick interviews and this is easily the best one I’ve seen.
Have you seen him interview Mel Brooks?
She is a beauty!
Martin Short is a genius. I love how they both play along with each other. Its like kids playing make-believe.
3:06 perhaps the funniest face the world has ever seen
T'was my profile picture for a long while
Agreed
A crying call back at the Clairol ads. That's a level that only Martin Short has.
What's impressive is that Short doesn't come out of character. That and his ability to just keep it rolling is always a wonder to behold. The Glickman. I think we'll keep him.
I can't stop replaying this one, it's hilarious! Questions about marrying Richard Dreyfuss..... I cried laughing!
I think this may be the best Glick ever!
When he toppled over on/from that chair, then the JLD comment, THEN the sound of Jiminy going down for the fall... I just lost it and scared my dogs from roaring in my house. I replayed that scene about 20 times. Martin was born to troll... So funny!
Maybe my favorite, Julia played this so well and set up Short again and again. So good.
This is fun to watch again and again. She truly is one of the most luscious cupcakes and he's a genius.
Julia is so incredibly gorgeous, just sayin
I have never seen her looking so damned hot as this interview.
she's gotten hotter, as she got older. even that funk dance doesn't make her any less hot.
Absolutely!!
Smoking.
She was always hot. I just wish she wasn't so phoney in this interview. I know it's all an act but in the best Jiminy interviews the guest is being themselves.

It's either this or the Conan one. Both perfect foils for Jiminy, in different ways.
This one’s my favorite by far and her approach and playing along was the polar opposite of Seinfeld, who was one of the worst.
If he really came up with the “and that was during conception" off the cuff and that quick and it wasn't any editting then wow...just wow.. that's quick
Of course it was off the cuff
“Straws?! I mean, we’re at war dear.”
This woman is so inexplicably gorgeous.
The best line came last - "Interview is over, so we don't talk so much anymore."
My parents loved him ! And Steve Martin … they. Would ge laughing out loud ! RIP Mom n Dad 🎄
"Straws! We're at war, dear." Fuck me that's gold
Wow, what a stunner
Both of them Very Funny. Never gets old, the classic Glick interview.
Great video and thanx, her laugh is so wonderful. Such a talent. Good work getting it off VHS.
First - thanks uploader!! NO worries about the VHS. Now - re: JLD: Not only is she gorgeous. she is quick-witted and sooooo talented. She’s enchanting
The look after he asks her about the Clairol ads is perfection.
I love her smile. It’s dazzling.
This is easily one of the top 5 Glick interviews.
I've probably seen at least 30 of these videos and possibly 50+ of them. Two of my favorites are when he "interviews" Mel Brooks and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Constant genuine laughter from both of them during the complete interview.

Jiminy asking Mel Brooks, "what's your beef with the Nazis?" is one of the great lines of all time
It's funny his hand entering the frame at 2:29 as he makes a question LOL
Marty is a comic genius.Plain and simple. The equal of Charlie Chaplin!!!!
@Dominus Vobiscum Martin Short
Nobody goes crooked in the eyes like Martin Short. Thank you Canada!
oh, yer sure welcome there, eh! we're so soorry aboot nickleback, too!
"Oh I hadn't heard the laugh yet" Just as we thought the interview was over-- one last insult.
Never mind that her laugh is so awesome.
When he falls out the chair and she says “I’ll see ya” I crack up every time. (Yes, I’ve seen this multiple times)
1:57 🤣🤣🤣
I remember dying laughing when this first aired and still cracks me up today! That slow fall from the chair...I'm dead! lol!
Followed by the enormous ass in her face as he struggles back into the chair.
I bet you have a rich and lovely laugh too.
I love this! You can even hear the crew around the set crack up!
Ohh, I hadn't heard the laugh yet..."
That ending was beautifully done 😆
My favorite part is when he is upset about a dead star and tries to pull it together and asks her about Clairol and after she answers he "loses" his composure and almost starts to cry! And it cracks Julia Louise Dreyfus up too!
2:45
Julia is a very beautiful lady.
She's a totally class act. One of the great comedic actors of this or any day.
She never looked better.
She's a freak - one of those rare women who become more beautiful with every passing year. You wouldn't have noticed her in her 20s but now she's stunning.
Right? She was on SNL way back in the 80s, yet she still looks young and beautiful...how does she do it?
I just realized Martin Short invented/perfected trolling. rofl
The father of us all. He has a mansion under the bridge.
That would probably be Andy Kaufman.
I’d say Andy Kaufman invented trolling as a comedic vehicle, Martin Short developed trolling into its modern iteration.
never heard of Andy Kaufman?
@@michaelweston2285 what's an Andy Kaufman?
Thank you sooooooooooooo much for adding this
one of the things that is so awesome about Short as JG is that he NEVER breaks character, no matter how funny he gets...he stays in character.
"PullItTogetherBoy, PullItTogetherBoy, PullItTogetherBoy..."
whenever jiminy gets teary, it's just epic.
what was your childhood like julia louisreeereifus?
Omg he’s a genius
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
Way too short. This one should have lasted at least 20 minutes. They were just getting warmed up.
2:51 "Why did I bring that name up?"
"pull it together boy pull it together boy pull it together boy..."
His face at 3:13 ... I think he’s forcing a stroke
boy do I miss that old comedy central logo
Two class acts, ad lib comedians riffing off each other. Thanks for putting this up, LATvFan, from a genuine VHS, to boot.
She is so beautiful. Its impressive. Her face is like a work of art
Thumbs up if you like when Jiminy switches from high pitch voice to that deep creepy low tone voice he does!! lol
Jon Lovitz likes it
The joke is that he's a homosexual who went through conversion therapy so he tries to butch everything up. Such a hilarious act.
He said there was a guy in his neighborhood who talked by starting in a low tone, going high, then low again, and so on.
Toni Bauer yup this is why he does that voice. Not sure where that guy got the homosexual conversion theory.
Russell Scott uh, you are just making things up. He said he was just copying a guy in his neighborhood who spoke like this, and he obviously found it funny.
Thank you Martin Short!
I can’t stop watching these, totally forgot about it
Short is so brilliant and improvisational ... even the top comedy professionals like Julia were nervous and on top of their game.
As Glick is falling she says, "Lord have mercy. I'll see you." 😆😆😆😆
She's delightful 🥰
"Without that rinse it's full Bea Arthur it's totally gray - that is true jiminy - you're gray! - TOTALLY GRAY!" I can't believe it I wouldn't want to see it..." "you lived together in sin because that was the era."
Julia is such a lovely beautiful person
I have never laughed so hard from a thumbnail. Seriously lol
This has to be my favorite Glick interview. :-)
She is so beautiful.
She is just Stunning. Short ... AMAZING. ("Ohhh.. I hadn't heard the laugh yet.")
Oh my lord, Julia is adorable in this interview.
Julia looks so good in this 😍
Ahh, Julia, she's just a gorgeous woman...
That smile and those eyes..!!
she seems like a very good sport to play along so well
She's mean. She once hired a mailman to have her neighbor's dog kidnapped.
I'm happy you came, I'm happy you came, I'm thrilled you came, I'm happy you came and I'm happy you came.
I can’t get enough of this stuff. Hilarious!!
Stunning skin and face teeth everything.
that danny devito joke was godly
Julia was always one of my favorite actresses
How were the births?
+CameronP83 Look at how wide her eyes get lololololololol

LUV Julie-Louie...funniest woman alive! Her role as “Elaine” on Seinfeld was terrific!
God I love her
Ugh she's a gem
"...there had to be straws...and...we're at war, dear..." LOL
they are both hilarious.
I've watched this a ton of times. But, this is the first time I realized that he says, "there you are Jerry", as he's climbing into the chair. Genius.
I can't stop watching the part where he starts crying
One of the best!
"They just squated and out they came..."
"And that was during conception"--- That Martin Short cleverness is light speed
She is simply one gorgeous mother.
This was the best Glick interview EVER!
"Pull it together boy, pull it together boy, pull it together boy"
How many people blew their ears out after watching this because they forgot they turned up the volume full blast?
