17:30 I’ve been thinking about public transportation in LA a lot lately because the next Olympics is going to be there (and I’m from Southern California). People from all over the world are going to go there and expect to be able to see so many things in their spare time and be so frustrated when it takes at least an hour to get to one thing on their list. They need to fix it before 2028. Also, fun fact, Los Angeles only has 14 public restrooms.
Okay off-topic to literally everything in this video but the lighting is immaculate actually, they all look so good and colors are popping. I'm especially drawn to how you can actually really see Ian's blue eyes, helped by the new shirt complimenting them but the lighting is putting in the work.
It’s so funny to hear them talk about a lot of things that they feel are unique to LA that I feel are just, like, normal things. Like I’ve lived on the East Coast my whole life and we analyze movies and breakdown what works about them and what doesn’t.
They were definitely right about some things being unique to big cities or LA -- food especially -- but I live in dirtass nowhere and we analyze our media hahaha. I think EVERYONE assumes everyone else in the world just doesn't "get" their favorite media the way they do lol
I get what Anthony means about the weather - I would be miserable living in a place with the same-ish weather all year round. I love the shifting nature of the seasons where I live! Warm and light summer evenings serenaded by grasshoppers, rainy autumn days when the trees are dressed in red and gold, finding the first spring flower underneath the melting snow, and the crisp cold air of a night wrapped in a thick coat of snow... Each season has something that I appreciate about it, but still, winter and autumn will always be my favorites 💜 Also, I love rain! While I might not be happy only when it rains, I never get sad when it rains - unless it's December lol
looks like the speculations about anthony retiring from on-screen duties are real if he's hoping to leave LA within the next 4 years. I'm both sad to see it (and sad to see the changes his own channel is going through because of it) and happy for him if he's finally putting himself first. I suppose it answers our questions about whether he'll be in more pit/games videos again, too
the sprawl of the city is not why the public transport is bad. there's so many ways to counter that. it's just not prioritised, it's clearly a city built for cars. i have also never been side-eyed as much as when i took the bus in LA with my luggage
I know at least one guy who while touristing almost got arrested for walking instead of driving or taking cab/public transportation. Walking is very suspect, apparently (and yeah, he was white, so for once it wasn't the usual reason).
