  • Tony is the creator behind P90X® - the best selling fitness program in America. Over the past 25 years, Tony has inspired and motivated people all over the world by sharing his fitness expertise with professional athletes, sports teams, television and film stars, recording artists and 4 million plus people. Tony changes lives with the perfect mix of physical fitness routines, encouragement, humor, discipline and fun. Tony is the author of "Bring It," and "Crush It," released through Rodale books. He recently launched his own meal delivery line, Tony Horton Kitchen after years of learning about food and fuel and how they're part of the whole equation when it comes to important things like longevity, energy and sound sleep.
    In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

    I started P90X in 2006, and it has been one of my best investments. My body was transformed for better. I still use it 2-3 times a week , the rest I go to lift weights at the gym.
    I and fitter than ever

    5:28 No. 1 first law of exercising and eating right is *Variety.* The more you do, the better you get, the faster your results, and the less likely you’ll get hurt, you’ll get bored, or you’ll plateau. You’ll always continue to grow and get better. Tony is more physically fit at 54 than he was at 14, 24, 34, or 44.
    6:25 No.2 is *Consistency* - exercise 5-7 days/week for the rest of your life. Should be like brushing your teeth and should be who you are.
    7:00 No. 3 is *Intensity* - you have to always up the anté. That’s how you grow. Push the envelope and track your progress.
    7:38 Stop eating food with salt, sugar, and chemicals (processed foods). When you eat like crap, you feel like crap.

    What a delightful & powerful video! I have come here from starting with a free video he made for obese people.. it is accessible & compassionately mindful of the issues large people face, but also fun & humorous, as seems his style. I up the intensity by increasing the reps & using higher weights, & just today added afterwards my first walk/ jog around a coupla blocks. I've lost nearly 10% of my body weight, & previously the jogging would have been too hard on my joints. Thanks Tones!

    guess again, i'm 6 foot tall, weigh 175 pounds, and eat better than most, i just don't like the workin out, plain and simple, although i do take lots of meds for anti-seizure reasons and they tend to make you tired, so it is harder to maintain any kind of energy on a daily basis, and it IS boring, but, you keep on keepin on Mr. genius

    YES great presentation here by Tony, hats off to him! 1 question: What is your # obstacle to getting fit?
    Problem I hear from my coaching clients is they were surrounded with unmotivated people who do NOT want you to succeed nor get better because they will feel more like a loser & or they need some accountability. I am offering 5 FREE spots for my small group metabolic fat loss coaching. This is motivated people who need to lose over 25 lbs & who are action-takers
    and ready for success via my Metabolic Motivation coaching. Next step?.... Tell me WHY you want to do this & your biggest obstacles. We will select 5 people to start Dec1. This is all on line. Ready?..... best, Dan

    this has been proven wrong, if you run over 3 miles a day more then 3 days a week it can actually have a back effect. it is like a U shape, you need to find a middle balance not to little and not to much to see best results in the long run, there was a man who use to run 100 mile races and dies of a heart attack at 55 from over working his heart

    • @davidmargaryan3809
      @davidmargaryan3809 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      key is high intensity interval training. not only do you give your heart and muscles more time to recover by simply working out for smaller periods of time, but you also preserve more muscle mass at the same time burning more fat. Marathon runners don't have that toned look most people go after. if you ask me, they look quite unhealthy and far too nimble. I assume they have poor joint health as well. All this in my opinion can set you up for long term fatigue and less likeliness to be a consistent athlete. In which case, increases chances of heart attacks.
