Also my favourite lens, it's amazing.
I love the original 56mm f/1.2 Fujifilm.
The 56mm f/1.2 is extremely sharp stopped down-f/5.6,f/8-& also has great contrast for B&W photography. I use the 50mm f/2 for CAF subjects.
The old version of the 56F 1.2.
You’ll be happy to know that the auto focus is way better on the XT5! And you can improve it even more if you use the limit focus option.
I’m glad I kept my original version, as I like the images I get very much.
Just bought a 33mm f1.4. Love the creamy bokeh.
Great video and work. Ive had 4 fuji cameras and various lenses and now I'm down to my X-Pro2 and the 35mm 1.4 and the 16mm 2.8. Lately I've been somewhat bored and uninspired by my kit. I've been toying with the idea of selling my existing system and get a Sony A7CII. Thanks to you Ive mitigated this sudden attack of GAS(Gear Acquisition Syndrome). While I may at some point go the Sony full frame route, I will not let go of my Fuji X-Pro2. Change my head and get back out there! Thanks again!
I just Picked up The 56mm f1.2 WR Used...
I'm happy that the video helped! Thank you so much for sharing your experience and supporting the video!
Nice review. Bought recently and very impressed with it. Altough not my preferred focal length, I use it more and more.
What a great review. Just what I needed. Thank you!

Just bought the 56mm MK1 new together with the 23mm MK1 in the Fuji winter sale, the look this combo provides still is awesome when used wide open... Both are still Made in Japan, as is my 10-24 Mk1 and my X-H1 - all build like a tank...
Bought the old 56 1.2 few days ago from an official reseller in Italy (brand new at 500 euro with discount and cashback) and it is made in Thailand now. I must admit I was quite disappointed when I received it. I know the only difference should be in the serial number which is now on a sticker on the lens, hopefully nothing else
@@salvatorerusso3902 I expected that both the 56mm F1.2 and the 23mm F1.4 were still Made in Japan and was quite surprised also to note that my 56mm lens was Made in Thailand whilst the 23mm still produced in Japan. However I can not complain, these are excellent lenses still although 1st gen Fuji X lens design at a time when 40 MP APS-C was not part of their design brief...
Fantastic review !
Very immersive, greatly put in perspective !!
Thank you so much !
Thank you so much for your kind words and support on the video! It means a lot to us!
Nikkor 85 f2 was my fav and first lens way back on my F3T / FE /FM - love the 56 on various Fujis - might go for the mark 2 during 2023. Thanks
Hope to get this one some day. Not in the budget right now though. I think my first prime will either be the XF 35mm or 50mm f2.
The Fujifilm 35mm and 50mm lenses are amazing choices! Thank you so much for supporting the video!
I would go with the 35mm. The 50mm / 56mm are a but redundant together so I would pick one out of those two. I own both and I barely use the 50mm. So I would probably get 35mm / 56mm combo. Its not worth getting all 3 in my opinion.
A video about this lens that doesn't send me to sleep! Good.
Thank you so much for supporting the video!
I have this lens for years and I'll never sell it. My only two gripes with it is that it doesn't have weather sealing (course I always end up in the rain, snow or a sandstorm), and the fact that it has older generation auto focusing motor, that freezes in sub zero temperatures...
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and supporting the video!
I just picked a mint new one for $800. It an incredible lens on my X-Pro3. Ill use it for Urbex and street photography
Can't believe I found this lens 2nd hand with just a minor imperfection on one of the elements (not noticeable on pics), otherwise pristine for £50.
Shopping for one right now and I'm beyond jealous, haha
My favourite portraiture lens along with 90 f2
I heard that the Fujifilm 90mm is a great lens too! Thank you so much for supporting the video!
Great review
Thank you so much for supporting the video!
You mentioned street photography. Why do you like about it for street? I used to use a 135mm on a film 35mm Pentax for street and loved it!
Lovely images..
Thank you so much for your kind words and support on the video!
How perform the old 56mm on the XT5?
There photos are beautiful 👍🏾
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Now that the price dropped about $300 on the original 56MM F1.2, i can't justify about $1K for the new model.
WR didn’t have the same character. Will get a used 56mm OG for video.
This is my #1 lens ever! 😂 it has a uniqueness that can’t be duplicated
I just like to pick up second one
Great video! Only thing I can suggest is that the AF is quite a bit faster on the newer Fujifilm camera bodies.
Thank you so much for your kind words and suggestion!
It’s definitely fast on my XT4
Slowly switching over from full frame. Tired of the big lenses, this is probably my next purchase.
The lens performs better on older cameras like the x-h1. Not as sharp at f1.2 on the X-T4.
Er, what? How does that work? It's just as sharp on my X-T4 as it was on my X-Pro 2.
@@jaychow2863 at f1.2, my X-h1 produce sharper photos than X-T4. On the X-T4 I get more softer images at f1.2 than the X-H1. I believe it’s due to the newer sensor and it’s algorithm for auto focusing.
@@LashahVideo Do you have any examples? I've found it to be exactly the same.
@@jaychow2863 I think you’re referring to when both images are sharp. I am saying that I get less sharp images on my X-T4 at f1.2 than on my X-T4. Both cameras has have IBIS, so it to be the algorithm of the autofocus on new Sensor. My keeper rate is higher on the X-H1.
@@LashahVideo But there's no evidence or science to back up your claims about the algorithm. There are far too many variables involved, but it's safe to say that the AF in the X-T4 is far superior to the X-H1. It's much more likely that you're just missing focus.
Did the Red Hair Modell have Instagram ? i like to follow he
AF is just too slow especially if you got used to Sony or Canon, even Nikon
On a 1.5 crop, f1.2 is more like a f2.2 or so
1.8
Fell asleep during calculus?
Bro this review makes no sense, you give no reasons for your statements
Did we watch different videos?
Awesome pictures man! What’s your IG?
