This song was written by Taehyung and was meant for his solo mixtape at the time he wrote it. This was in 2020 during the height of the pandemic, and when the guys heard the song, they wanted it on their album. BE is the album, and it is all about the pandemic and how they felt, and dealt with it, and giving hope to their fans and the world that it will get better. The rap line added their verses for the final version of course, and this is now an ARMY favorite. The performance of this song at the PTD On Stage Los Angeles Concert was amazing. They did a mirror reflections performance and the mirror showed them and how they feel inside. It was amazing. So different for each member. They are so creative, then the performance went right into Black Swan and an unforgetable choreography section to orchestral music, and the dancers became one with BTS as the Black Swans, and it was a magical peice of art. If you have a chance, you should watch it. I was there on night 4 at SoFi Stadium, and I will never forget it. It was EPIC.
It is not just the song, it is the way it is sung. You can really feel Tae's thoughts and feelings in the lyrics. I never want a perfect BTS, I want a REAL BTS.💜

One of my favorite songs from BTS. It is sad, but so so beautiful. Also, if you listen to the whole BE album (which this song is from), it's part of a full story that goes through a lot of different emotions. BTS wrote the BE album during the pandemic, after having to cancel a whole world tour and being forced into lockdown, and the album goes through all the emotions they (and we) went through during the time, form sadness, to boredom, depression, guilt, cabin fever, disconnect, strangeness, and happiness. It's a fantastic album!
