  • I decided I wanted to upgrade my Rega RP1 turntable, and while this Dual CS505-1 is an entry level vintage turntable, it is at least semi automatic, and has a removable head shell, which will give me a cartridge upgrade path.
She was in need of a service, so I lubed the motor and spindle, as well as a few other places, and re-set the tracking and anti-skate.

Good video! I have the RP 3 24 Rega with an Ortofon cartridge and it sounds much better than the 80's Technics (with an Ortofon TP 4 cartridge) I was using, but it's true having to do everything manually can be distracting.

Hi we have the same turntable that we purchased over 30 years. We brought it back out. We hear the sound coming from the record, but no volume coming through the speakers. Where can we purchase the full Cartridge with the stylus?

You'll need to take it to a technician, because if you change the entire cartridge it will need to be properly aligned when it is installed. You can easily Google where to buy a replacement cartridge from.
