Very much appreciate this correct technical information. It seems that we need to refill the tank before when the indicator reaches 1/2 ( half tank ) level, since average tank capacity is in the region of litre 30s, right? I also have heard or read somewhere that when we keep the tank mostly empty, that empty space is filled up by the vaporized petrol, thus our consumption of petrol is inefficient, as such vaporized petrol cannot be used to run the car. I do not know how far this information is correct or relevant. Also, this concept of submerged fuel pump is new to me. Hope it is news to most of our readers too. So this is a very good reason ( if not a must) for us to maintain our fuel tank at a reasonably filled level. Thanks Dr. Madanayaka, for highlighting this point. I know there are many like me who now depend on your site for correct information to keep our vehicles in good condition.
Hi Sir, I’m a second owner of FIT GP5 S grade 2013 model. Previous owner used 95 octane fuel. Now I want to use 92 octane regular fuel. Is this recommended to use & if so will it affect engine in the long run? Seek your professional advice. Thank you
Better to use 95 octane, Othervice it will effect to your cars emission controll sysyems such as catalytic converter , egr system ..in long term usage ..then try to use 95 euro4 ..

Basically fuel tank capacity 50 liters, then have to maintain 1/2 of tank, that’s why said maintain 25 liters, is your tank capacity 27 liters then you have to maintain around 15 liters..that’s practical..
