I was in his concert in Almaty on last Friday (7000 kms…) and it was phenomenal. Absolutely phenomenal: he is a beast on stage, a king, a lion, and the stadium full of people in connection with him.
On Saturday he organised an other event for his fans in another stadium, it was an amazing evening with him, his family, his friends.
At the end of the evening, he presented the premiere of The Story of One Sky: the stadium was in a complete, total silence… a powerful moment…
I already watched several times and continue having chills and tears.
It demonstrates once again that Dimash is so more than the best vocalist of the world: he conveys a message and his voice is his instrument.
He is loved by so many people because he is supported by strong values, and we can feel how sincere he is, and he shares them through his songs: peace, respect, tolerance…
I am still in Kazakhstan and am very surprised how this country is tolerant and open: we, in our rich Western countries, must learn from such mentality.
This is probably why this masterpiece hurts us so much… it recalls us that money, glory and power are nothing compared to friendship, love and tolerance.

Hi, Mike and Jenn, thank you for your heartfelt reaction. I saw Dimash perform this song powerful song live just three days ago on his concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan. He sang his heart, out, there was not a dry eye in the whole stadium. It was heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. If you'll ever have the chance to attend one of his concerts, don't miss it. what impresses me about Dimash is that he shows his activity towards anti-war topics, despite the fact that this does not concern him directly(there is no war in Kazakhstan right now). This shows that Dimash has principles. For me, this is like a breath of fresh air against the backdrop of how celebrities carefully avoid the topic of war, fearing to ruin their reputation. Dimash does not worry about his status, he just does what considers it necessary to do it, because he worries not only about himself, but also about others. This is wonderful! I really respect him!

It is really amazing of him to put himself and his career on the line for such things.
I do feel this concerns all of us, Dimash even more so.
We all live on this planet, and I think that we are only as strong as our weakest link.
Kazakhstan, just like Ukraine, was once part of the Soviet Union. Kazakhstan gained it's Independence in 1991, the same year Ukraine was established. That entire region was once very closely tied politically.
The situation between Russia and Ukraine must hit very close to home for them as well. All three Countries are very close geographically. It's hard to imagine this hasn't effected the people of Kazakhstan on a personal level.
Amazing job by Dimash for using to his platform to shine a light on such things 💚💜

The film is based on a story written by Dimash with his own screenplay. (I worked on this piece for 3 years). Director Alina Veripya spoke about creating the music video for the new song: the clip is divided into several parts. The first is about childhood. The main character, two friends linked by childhood stories and symbols of eternal friendship. One day the friend saves the protagonist when he drowns. However, there is already competition in these children's story, where the boys love one girl and she chooses one. The second goes through a kind of psychological The disintegration and transformation of children's problems into an adult world of totalitarianism and struggle. When he becomes a commander, the opponent carries the idea of saving the war: the young boy who presents the tokens of friendship he made will marry the girl (Dimash). She will give birth. A baby girl (murdered) and a mother waiting for another baby. Friends were scattered, and the third friend became an enemy, friends are enemies, because of the war, It is shocking how the cry of true helplessness of a father embracing his murdered daughter is practically coupled with the cries of a woman in labor who brings a child into the traumatized world of soldier (Dimash). That he was searching for his family and that he had found the dead body of his daughter and I think believing that his pregnant wife had also died, and felt the death of life, he decides, as the only way out in that moment of uncontrollable pain is revenge. He killed the evil embodied in his opponent, and then was killed by soldiers' bullets.
,and when Dimash died, his son was born, and the mother died during childbirth. But the boy is saved by his society of different religions and races, he wears his mother's talisman. He will surely grow up and become a messenger of peace on earth, like a worthy son of his father.A symbol of a future without evil, without wars, a world moving towards peaceful coexistence.
The light of hope and peace on earth,In a world without walls, without unfair constraints, without differences or contempt for different ethnic groups or nations because the supreme value above all is: love and peace We are all human beings, we share the same planet Earth, and we owe each other as "brothers" the respect for life.
In the end, he joined with people of different races and religions from another era that touches the present and the future
In a world without walls, without unfair constraints, without differences or contempt for different ethnic groups or nations because the supreme value above all is: love and peace We are all human beings, we share the same planet Earth, and we owe each other as "brothers" the respect for life.
,Piper represents the force Totalitarian, oppressor who is not alien to us and who understands that war is the way to make people free (real nonsense).Piper (is the name of a soldier's opponent, a soldier who only hates, annihilates and destroys. What a paradox for a friend who, in his childhood, saves soldier Dimash from drowning. But life is like this, full of changes, good and bad, Evil, war and contempt happen when we lose love for one another, and our way to God and making peace and love in the world is not difficult but possible if we work together for love and peace and stop wars, hate and contempt. It is about calling for cooperation, to save lives, love, friendship and the land of our children. “Art is a sacred message in life, and these are the true artists.. And the earth needs these reformers in their precious, true and immortal work for the sake of love and peace on earth... Thank you, Den Muhammad - Damsh - for your sincerity and presence. I cried 😥with saw it already 100 times worried about 💞Jess too You are right Mike Dimash has more courage than many world leaders The message here is to find the light within yourself any person who does not turn away does not wash his hands in innocence like the brave women in Iran who are killed for not wearing a headscarf.
The story of the director Alina Verdipa loosely translated
is the story of three friends when the little dimash is saved from drowning he makes a friendship necklace for all his friends savior does not put this on but hold it in his hand this symbolizes a lot for later this friend has become an enemy if he as he declares war as president you see the friendship sign as battle symbol on his uniform dimash and the girl from the beach are married and have a daughter who gets killed the pregnant wife of Dimash flees and gives birth to a son the moment dimash dies
parallel you see all faiths busy with there selfs while a man dies in the sand, reads the Islam the Quran
    the Catholic carries the cross
    the Buddhists also walk by
when dimash finds his dead family on the ground it sounds the ohm(dimash) Boeddhisme/Hinduism then dimash sings the glottisstop eastern world the Ode to the dead, then you hear bells ringing Catholic Requiem also means an ode to the dead in the Catholic world when the Jewish wind instrument the horn it's called the Shofar sounds the child is coming into the world You see all religions gather around the dead men in the sand praying together .
The endshot you see Dimash his son grown up towards the ligt with all the religions in his wake.
Really appreciated this sincere response and what I say it's hard to get through your emotions and analysis this Masterpiece of Dimash.
Sorry long comment much love from the Netherlands 🌷🇳🇱💋

The film is very symbolic, portraying the contrasts of human choice between Light and dark, and life and death continually thru different epochs; scenes of a child being born juxtaposed with Dimash breaking down over the death of a child in war. A man who has the courage to end the life of an evil mind knowingly at the cost of his own life, along side the birth of a child. The destruction of war, with the beginning of a new journey to a new land with representations of all religions and peoples, which has been the desire in every age historically and in present day. The innocence of childhood (on the beech), and the delusional psychosis of adults gone mad (Putin character). Light and Dark, birth and death, loss and hope.
The great choice in life at our level of existence, at our level of evolution, is for each soul to choose between "darkness" and Light, between a life centered primarily around service to self or service to others. I think....Dimash sees his life as not exclusively his own, not for his own glorification, neither his life or his art; but rather, his life, his art, his voice are for service to others. He has chosen Life and Light above all else including himself.
Most artists will only go so far in their willingness to speak out against issues of this magnitude due to the controversial political nature and due to the risk of their own well being. Let us all be Guardian Angels for Dear Dimash

    • @anahills3836
      @anahills3836 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

I agree with most of this, but I'm not sure Dimash was suggesting that we go out and kill evil leaders. I think he was showing that people on both sides make wrong choices. It was not choosing life to kill his friend who had saved his life as a child. He says the when our leaders are doing wrong we must do right.

As a father and husband I do understand that fear of standing up in certain ways.
I don't plan on making a political TH-cam channel and start calling for action in some way that would bring unwanted negativity onto my family.
There is a correct way to go about it.
When done right, entertainers like Dimash can transcend that label and become activists and have significant impact and cause actual change.
I believe he is doing it the right way and the impact he has will be very significant.
He inspires those like me to do my part. Make the impacts where I can when I can.

@Ana Hills I absolutely agree with you. We should not forget that this video was filmed not just according to the script of Dimash, but based on his story, that is, a literary work. It is quite possible that the clip could not contain all the collisions of this plot. I also think that Dimash does not justify the act of his hero. His soul, after rebirth, joined other souls of various denominations, who are on the thorny path to light, goodness, peace... But this is also the path of REDemption.

@@RNTV Yes. Peace starts in the hearts and actions of each individual in their daily interactions. It's easy to rant about our "crazy pipers" while being unkind to our family members or purposely hurting people with our words. Peace comes in the big things but also in the small ones. May God give us hearts that seek peace.

@@anahills3836 Diamash has spoken out passionately on stage at his concerts about the current war and about war in general. I am not suggesting that DQ is advocating or communicating that his listeners should take any specific action or any action at all. The choice his character portrays however is one that could be taken by one around such Pipers, and certainly has been imagined before DQ's film. Again that does not mean simply because DQ is expressing that possibility, his rage and frustration at the situation thru his art, that he is advocating for it. I simply noted what was happening on screen. The leap by anyone that DQ is or is not advocating for any particular course of action is their interpretation, not mine.

He has been working on this music score for three years and only himself saw it recorded by a 150 pc orchestra a few weeks ago, he wrote the whole storyline to the script, all his own ideas and secured the talents of a brilliant director to oversee filming. Dimash posted a couple weeks ago that he had just finished work on the most expensive MV in the world !! 🙏

This is subtitled "Requiem" but it is also a vision and a call to action. Dimash is steeped in sacred music and has a deep understanding of the mystic teachings and symbolism of the major world religions. It is not by coincidence that the first performance of this work took place on September 14 at the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. He received a medal of commemoration from the Pope for his work. The written statement at the end of the video is directly from from the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together” signed jointly on June 23, 2020 by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad el-Tayeb. Dimash met and spoke to both men at the September meeting.
Everything Dimash does is intentional, and this piece has layers that would take a dissertation to unravel. I only touch on some of what struck me in the symbolism. The music is a dissertation all by itself. The pendant is an interesting element. It is a gnomon from a maritime compass sundial. This triangular blade is attached to the sundial, casting a shadow on the sundial while the perforated pinhole projects the image of the sun onto the dial. It was used for both timekeeping and navigation, with the gnomon oriented to True North. In the MV, the child who later becomes the military commander never puts on the necklace. The last frame of the pendant in his childish hand, it shows that he has bent the gnomon in anger over being rejected by the girl. Thus bent, it can never be oriented to True North, and he has lost his moral compass. (Thank you, Snarky Tart for that information). Later, we see a version of the gnomon, but distorted and without the hole for light to get through, as the military insignia on the uniforms of the commander and his soldiers.
Contemporary music is also present: With the phrase "We have passed the moment of Imagine," Dimash reminds us that we are past the sentiments evoked by the song "Imagine" by John Lennon. It is time to stop dreaming about a world of peace and harmony. If we choose life, if we wish for peace, if we want a world without war for our children and grandchildren, we must act and take up the long hard path up the mountain towards the light. It is the only way.
The storyline is a very human one: we start as innocents until our hearts are broken in some way by life. When we turn to anger instead of acceptance, power instead of love, greed and envy instead of generosity, hatred instead of forgiveness, and revenge instead of justice, we sow the seeds for conflicts that can turn into war. The Piper's call is seductive as it promises redress for our grievances and control over our circumstances and those who thwarted us, and this appeals to our wounded ego. However, let's remember that the Piper is a symbolic figure of Death from the Middle Ages, often used as a metaphor for trusting and following charismatic but dangerous and destructive leaders. Even if we resist, as the first adult Dimash character does, we often employ the same methods and weaponry as the Piper, and thus those who fight back betray peace as well because peace cannot be won through violence. That is the dilemma of those of us who did not start the war, who do not support the war, but are forced to respond in order to defend ourselves and those we love. How can we rid the world of evil without becoming what we fight against?
The burning sign "Waldenburg" is a reference to the end of WWII when the US Army destroyed the last of the resistance by the German Wehrmacht to end the war in April 1945. As a native German, I have seen the aftermath of war as I was born a few years later when much of Germany was still in rubble. Waldenburg is only 28 miles from my hometown and was completely destroyed as you can see from the picture. Many of the dead in those bombed-out buildings were women and children. The good guys defeated the bad guys, but at what price? iowaculture.gov/history/education/educator-resources/primary-source-sets/world-war-ii/american-troops-move-through
The last movement is very powerful: The cries over the loss of a loved one and the cries of giving birth to new life are presented as a call-and-response grounded by the Om chant which creates a sacred space, reminding us that death and life are intertwined. Dimash's vocalization and the pilgrims representing world religions and religious leaders, past and present, walking together shift the narrative toward the final conflict and finally to redemption. When Dimash’s character decides to avenge the murder of his daughter, his state of consciousness is reflected in the darkening sky with lightning bolts of anger accompanying the storm of his emotions that buffet the pilgrims. The fog of war obscures the light. When he is killed after exacting retribution, he is dropped back into the "sacred womb" of Earth, the ocean of love and mercy, and is cleansed of the old hatreds and grievances that only bring more death and suffering. He breaks the wheel of endless war and suffering by choosing life. Dimash's scream is the scream of giving birth: the old earthly consciousness of an eye for an eye has to die to make way for a new spiritual consciousness that embraces all life. Soul is breaking free to return to its natural state of love and purity as exemplified by the images of the children and the newborn baby.
The blowing of the shofar signals God's mercy for humankind when it turns from wrong to right: in the Zohar, the book of Jewish mysticism, it says: “When human beings repent of their sins, they blow the shofar on earth. It sound ascends On High and awakens the heavenly shofar, and so mercy is aroused and judgment is removed.”
Reborn as a leader for peace and love, Dimash's character in the form of his son becomes a guide for all of mankind on our shared journey up the mountain towards the light of God, however we may interpret or name the divine. We are all on the same path, even if our personal narratives, cultural heritage, race, and spiritual orientations are very different from one another. By focusing on our common destination rather than on our differences, we can walk together in peace and love and mutual respect. Dimash is showing us how.
Carl Jung wrote: “Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely. Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”
This is what Dimash has done with this piece; he has made the darkness conscious. We can only raise our individual and collective consciousness by bringing to light what needs to be healed in our lives and our world, and then we need to work together to restore wholeness to what is broken and bring about peace and unity, one step at a time.
We don’t have to wait. We can start right now. As the hymn tells us: "Let there peace in the world, and let it begin with me." Baraka Bashad.

Wow, thank you! I spent the last two days looking for the different symbols in The Story of One Sky that I did not understand, and you have just given me two of them: the 4-like metalic figure in the necklaces (which is also the symbol in the uniforms and lectern of the antagonist, but reversed and twisted); and the Waldenburg sign.
Still need some info about the books shown in some pilgrims hands. And the big horn, do you think it's a shofar and it's there to represent Jewish people?

@@MsLucy4ever Yes, that is a Shofar. I think one of the books is a bible and the other one is the Quran. The handbook of the Jewish mystics, The Zohar, points out that there is a Divine-human reciprocity in the shofar. It says: “When human beings repent of their sins, they blow the shofar on earth. It sound ascends On High and awakens the heavenly shofar, and so mercy is aroused and judgment is removed.”

Muchas gracias por tu información, muy interesante, hay tanto símbolo dentro de esta gran obra maestra. Hay algo que me sigue llamando la atención, al final solo son hombres los que siguen a Dimash, porque no hay mujeres??. Saludos.

@@monicaperez703 I thought about this too. I believe this is because it is generally men who make war. They are the ones who need to change most.

Truly this is an incredible representation of Dimash’s portfolio and message. Dimash has previously written and performed a song in Chinese called War and Peace. The best recording was done at a concert in the Ukraine. Dimash is truly an inspirational human being and I’m proud to be a dear. Great reaction! Cheers from Canada!
