@lukejustin9116 Cheers mate. The jighead size I use depends on what depth of water i'm fishing and how hard the river is running, but usually a 1/6 #1 or 1/8 #2 for this kind of water 👍
@DingusDrillBillyBob Hey mate, at the 8:00 minute mark there's a good rundown of the gear i'm using. It's a Samaki Zing Gen 3 rod (6'10 1-3kg) and a Shimano Vanford 2500 reel. Last I checked the Samaki Zing Gen 3 was around $150 and the Shimano Vanford 2500 was around the $300 mark. Highly recommend it if budget allows 👍
hey mate great vid and advice, planning a long weekend trip to go trout fishing, can you give me some info on location, wanting to got to the vic highcounty but don't know where to go as I'm from Canberra, any advice?
@darcybettenay_mtb Hey mate, cheers for the support. Plenty of great rivers in the High Country that hold trout. The Ovens, King, Mitta Mitta, Kiewa, Howqua, Upper and Lower Goulburn, Jamieson , Big, Buffalo, Dargo and Wonnangatta rivers all hold good populations of trout.
@lukejustin9116 cheers mate. Pretty much every river in the High Country holds trout. My favourite way to fish the High Country is just drive and stop at any good looking spots 👌
@jacobanderson9862 Hey mate, you can usually tell be the tail. Stocked fish often don't have a full developed tailfin, tends to be a bit short and stumpy compared to the rest of their body.

I loved fishing but due to old age 70 and ill health all I can do is watch youtube vids
@@leongt1954 Just watching fishing videos can bring so much joy and peace. Even if you can't physically go, you're still connected to the sport 👍
