- The waterfall that has been under our RV for multiple weeks has put our patience to the test. RV life can be exhausting at times. Tonight, we bring you some answers to all of the RV leaks that we found.
We have been using Zero-G hoses since first starting full-time RV living. We absolutely loved them, but lately, we are far from impressed. We went through 3 separate Zero-G hoses in the last month. The theme of this week's episode....you guessed it! RV LEAKS!

hey guys love your channel but here's a tip for the black tank... if you add any additives like the enzymes that break the stuff down you are actually turning the "Holding Tank" into a septic system... the stuff turns into a peanut butter texture that hardens into a hard concrete type goop.... just use water then if you have a blank tank flush, flush it until clearer water drains out.... also keep a couple gallons of h2o in the tank when in transit it'll help break the stuff down...

Anyone else would have dropped out of the rv life a long time ago ,it's amazing how you made it through the things you have. The RV industry in general should give you guys a new fifth wheel just for inspiration for people to stick with the rv life and helping newbies like me to want to get into it.

ok that was weird let`s try this again ? You two are inspiring alittle crazy at times but fun to watch and to learn in the same time. I took a chance and bought a older but really nice motorhome , and traveled from Milwaukee to Galveston Texas Island to spend all of January on a three month adventure come Feb 1st heading for Vegas to visit a friend than heading for Death Valley to explore , than possible Fresno California for another friend than who knows where the road will take me, i need to watch the beautiful Ney Ney on learning the apps for travel again , it`s alittle scary out there where to park for the night ? with me it`s been truck stops and rest areas which are boring, i need to log in GPS to find wooded lake areas and camping spots , I`m new at this and you two really help , Thank You Carl and Renee the Travel Nurses ( which i have a friend that does that too ) for coming to the You-Tube World and helping so many people out .

We had the same issues with the valves till someone told us to get a water softener and that fixed it, no more issues

You two cheer me up every week. And I’m really COUNTING ON YOU to be cheery (and even cheeky - you both do that so well) for at least the next few weeks. I’ve had to come in off the road for a total knee replacement surgery (next Monday, 1/17) and am stressing over whether I’ll be able to get back out there on my own again come late spring … maybe early summer. I’m only 72 and not ready to quit traveling yet. There are so many places still to see. 🥺
Best of success to you with your upcoming surgery. I know you’ll be so anxious to get back on the road again but please don’t rush your recovery - slow and steady wins the race. At 72 you’re just hitting your prime! You’ll be back out there doing what you love in no time - it’ll just feel like forever lol. Take good care of yourself. From a fellow RVer in 🇨🇦
De Frost. I’m 72 had a full replacement a couple of years ago. Not only I’m I back out loving life but the new knee is better than it ever was. Just follow the Dr.’s Rehab instructions. Had surgery in September, 30 days in home rehab, about 30 days of using crutches then a Kane then nothing.

We have the dark blue ZeroG hose which we bought at camping world. At least 5 years old and never had any issues.

We are heading to Cali in about a week. This will be our first trip in Grand Design 390rk. Very nervous never done this before. Sold our house so this is our only home. Pressure is on but will take it slow and hope our plan works out. Thanks to Hanks for being inspirational.

Cool upload friends. We use Walmart brand drinking water hoses. For winter we use the camco heated hoses. Some we have to mess around with the fitting to stop the leaks. Some times we put water tape and that does the trick. Thanks for sharing this brilliant upload. The time goes by so fast while we are watching. You guys are always entertaining. Congratulations on 50,000 subs! Tell me, was the underbelly falling on Nay Nay as funny as Carl raising up into the bottom of the door?
I've learned a lot from you guys. I recently spotted a boondocking hook up in my area.
You guys can get a crimping tool and fittings to repair your plumbing at any major home improvement store. It's not nearly as complicated as nursing, you can figure out repairing the pipes yourselves, should the need arise. I'm just a dumb electrician turned CNC Machinist and I've done my own plumbing and repaired behind "official" plumbers for over 15 years.

Hubby & I were just discussing how we appreciate that you show real RV life. When something breaks, we know from your experiences…things happen. Our slide cable broke and we’re going through the process of getting it repaired. Mobile RV tech assessed the damage and we’re working with Keystone to send repair kit. Thank God we’re stationary in SE Texas at the moment for work.

My hubby and I got a Grand Design trailer. 🎉 We're now in the stage of prepping, organizing, and buying what we need before we hit the road. Looking for a truck, and figuring out how to strap everything down, so that things won't move, or break. Any items that come to mind to help with that?

Re: keeping things from moving around. . . I use ( & love ) " museum putty ". It makes stuff stay on your counters. Will not damage anything. I've had glass things sitting on my counters for a couple years without budging . To remove own, just gently twist.

I am a full time RV tech and a full time RVr as well. I have had many people I have helped and many with Grand Designs and YES your videos help get you service plus replacement parts even though you are out of warranty. I have tried both professionally and personally with my own rig and Grand Design won’t work with us for customers or for my own rig even though it is outside of warranty. You would think that being a full time tech and live on a Grand Design full time would help but nope just another number. Not disappointed overall in Grand Design just in the customer service really.
Thanks for sharing. Before our TH-cam days, they still did a great job with customer service but that was before the RV industry got too crazy. Sorry you had problems, sounds like you know your stuff though!
thanks for this as I saw the hassles jayco did with a trailer and it wasnt until it was out on social media that they even attempted to remedy it. Its sad that in the information age companies dont realize how easy it is to get negative publicity.

It is not tin foil or aluminum according to our friends from across the pond but is instead aluminium.
Currently I like the light blue Camco Evoflex hose. It stays flexible in cooler temps. I have tried the Camco Premium hose but it did not hold up to the sun. Hopefully the Evoflex will do better. I noticed Camco now has a Evoflex2 hose on the website that I will have to try.
Yep, water line leaks are way too common in RVs. Grand Design and others need to do a better job. It shouldn't be that difficult.

We use the Zero G hoses with quick connects. We have quick connects on everything. Easy to tighten down, Hourleey Garden Hose Quick Connector, 3/4 Inch Male and Female Garden Hose Fitting Quick Connector, 6 Set @ Amazon
We love our quick connects too, it only took a couple years to get them installed 😆
I have the black zero G hoses and love them. No issues for 3 years so far.

Glad to here Grand Design is going to repair your tank. As for your sticking valve I use Thetford rv tank valve lubricant. Never had much luck with 0g hoses. Have them for work, and tried them on the rv, keep going back to the camco white hose. We did go to the rv show in Greensboro nc, I think I have my wife sold on the grand design image XTL.

When your tank gets replaced, inquire on having the tanks strapped to the rails they hang from. That’ll keep them from bouncing up and down while you travel.

You need a pack of spare water hose gaskets. If all other factors of the hose are good just get the replacement o rings and you need extras anyway!

We had real issues with our Black tank cable pull as well. I discovered in our case that the cable was getting pinched on the chloroplast. Try loosening the screws in that area (do not drop the underbelly on your spouse). and see if it pulls easier.

Great video......I just had all 3 dump valves replaced bc I had the same problem. The valves were corroded and it got to the point that I used a 2x4 to pound it back in 😆 🤣 ..the new ones are smooth as butter 🧈

I've had real good luck with the blue Camco I have not tried the Evo from Camco. My last three campers have all had leaks where they change from PEX to hook to the faucet in the kitchen in the bath they bloat and leek.

Yeah...you're definitely going to need a new tank. A patch like that might work fine if it was a tank sitting in your garage, but there's no way it'll hold with the vibration, flexing and temperature swings an RV experiences while traveling.

Great to hear about grand design standing by their customers. Its makes me feel more at ease as its the primary manufacturer im looking at as I consider a travel trailer for full time living.
Not as compact but I love the Flexzilla hoses. They are very flexible light and drinking water safe. Just a bit bulky.

I’m glad that grand design decided to help you guys out, I’m really disappointed that the insulation that we pay top dollar for (and my main reason for wanting grand design) it’s just kind of rag stag thrown underneath there… And that they use such cheap fittings..

We always used the white hoses for drinking water. We have been looking for a Grand Design too. #Hanks💩tanks! 🤣

Hey guys Cindy and Wyatt here (aka Your Great Canadian fans) I agree with Neyney, it’s ‘tin foil’ however hubby agrees with Kyle that it is aluminum foil….I guess it depends where you are from 🤷🏻♀️ (silverware vs cutlery, vacuumed vs sweeper, etc….). BTW enjoy the Tampa RV show for us……we are expecting 40-50 cm of snow today, schools are closed and those who weren’t already working from home (due to COVID) are being told to work from home today 😔😭. I was hoping to make it to the show this week but the new strain laid waste to those plans 😔, maybe next year. Here is hoping your luck changes soon, you guys are due for some good RV luck so hopefully no more RV issues and some great adventures in your future!! See you in Thursday’s episode!!

I'm sure that you have, buttt have you tried changing the washer out? I had one of these hose a while back and I did that and it stopped the leaking.

I have wondered why RV people were in love with the Zero-G hose. They are horrible. You noticed the gasket issue. They are also very easy to puncture. Had one that lasted all of two weeks. Never again.
Our first one lasted so long, they started to make them cheaper. Thanks for sharing!
Pretty sure these hoses are absolutely horrendous with mold inside.

Flex Seal for tank leak. You two rock.
Just go to a hardware/ landscape store and pick up a set of rubber hose washers. You can usually get a 10 pack for about $5.

Best hose is the Flexzilla. I had the Zero-G but got tired of the kinks so we tried the Flexzilla and it works amazing. Lighter than the Zero-G and actually doesn’t kink. Give it a try.
Should buy it just for the name alone. LOL
I still have the traditional white hoses and they’re still working. When they need replaced I’ll get a Flexzilla hose. Never have been impressed with the quality of the Zero G

Water leaks suck! Unfortunately its part of rv life like you guys said. We use zeroG as well. I assume full time is a big reason for leaks with the constant moving. Hopefully we can meet up with you guys along the way! Safe travels!

I can't stand water leaking hoses at the bay and source. I don't think they make one worthy! We should design and manufacture one! We would be millionaires! Edit...my current no name heavy duty blue hose is a cardio workout to attach and set up!
