Same here. Between Justin of Kayak Catfish and Ethan of Online Outdoorsman, I'm back out on the water. If I'm not catfishing with my larger rods and reels then I have my ultra light gear.
Ed here from near Clarksville. My buddy and I Retired from the Army and now are into catfishing from our kayaks. Thanks for all the time you put into these videos. Great stuff.
I know you really love the kayak fishing, but can you please consider another bank fishing episode? It really helps seeing these videos with my wife as she can see what im trying to convey to her. Tight lines my friend.
Ive fished all over the country my whole life. And thanks to your videos I was able to adapt how i grew up fishing halibut off the alaskan coast, to sticking cats here in the south. Its amazing how similar it is. Im thinking I need to take my kayak back to alaska and attempt halibut.
Finally! I've been waiting on another video for what seems like weeks, lol. I use spinning rods and it was really nice to see you fishing with one today! Thank you!! Keep on fishin'!
I fish it every other day I live within walking distance to the Tennessee river I hike about 3 miles down the bank I have a spot that's loaded with flathead I usually catch 5 or 6 over 10lbs every few days
One of the little state parks around me has monster blue gill. 2 pounders are hiding in there. I caught one once mouth to tail that was huge. Mouth to tail stretching thumb to pinky like the hang ten sign. I was still in the meat on the tail. The pike hiding in there are huge too.
I kinda had the opposite experience.... went to a new tryout stream with the lews rod and reel combo you reviewed, first cast caught a beautiful 10 inch rainbow next 6 hours........nada! Getting the skunk off quickly left me frustrated for the rest of the trip, but I thought it was a good sign to start with.
great video, l enjoy watching you and your comments on what you are doing. go after the little ones with the ultralight, makes it more of a fight. stay safe.
I know a woman who caught some bluegill without hooks (tying worms on the line and pulling hard when the line was hit) keeping them alive and putting them into a fish aquarium. They would eat bits of corn from one's fingers. She told her friends that they were pirranna and of course, the fish would bite, harmlessly, at any fingers that touched the surface of the water, frightening some silly people.
Your fishing is inspirational for me. I wonder if cut bluegill would outperform live bluegill...some days I don't really know what works best. Not having skip jack, I use minnows & sunfish to catch catfish/bullheads.
I got the pro cat 7'6 med hvy/med fast its a bit stiff but when they bend over its a good one on there gonna get a couple more great to pull them out of trees to
Hunter Davis I’m home from fishing too. Since I haven’t seen a fish all spawn, let alone a bite, so it’s nice to see they aren’t extinct. Sometimes I wonder what I do wrong. It’s 11:30 in where I live and I don’t get many bites after 10:00ish.
Bluegill is great bait. Fillet one with the skin and ribs in, hook the fillet through the ribs and throw it out there...great flutter bait that won't come off easy
Hey, Justin! Given that you're using the same line (mono) and circle hook with both, have you noticed a different hookup ratio with one rod vs. the other (Ugly Stick vs. Academy)? They really do have a different action.
Enjoyed it buddy! Been watching but not commenting. You don't need no ecouragment I'm sure! You got this.... Bite should pick up bout the time the heat slows us down lol.🙏
This reminds me of better days on the meramec river in Missouri before it became decimated with Asian carp and gar. I almost cry when I think about the destruction of our river systems here in MO. And elsewhere
Hey buddy love your videos! I'm new to river fishing got a boat this year I'm in Cincinnati usually fish the ohio river. I was thinking about hitting the Tennessee river. Are you in Tennessee? If so where would be a good ramp to go in at? Thanks
Justin, i notice you hook your cut bait in top middle of the back, i personally hook my cut bait in the top corner of the back. What makes you hook yours the way you do? Any better hook up ratio in the middle vs corner?
First question. What kind of casting reels do you use? I'm curious about the hold one. Secondly, would you consider fishing with Richard Gene the fishing machine or Dieter Melhorne?
Next time you see catfish dave tell him, hes slacking 😂 but man I always enjoy your videos .I'm seriously thinking about investing in a kayak keep up the hard work
Kayak Catfish, Justin calm flat, foggy water+ Legal dead or alive bait= catfish.Hopefully see a rod bending ,drag pulling Catfish. God bless Justin, check this out they got your reels www.jandh.com/catalog/reels/conventional-reels/manufacturer/daiwa
Sh... even a dadgum channel cat will crack a big live bluegill, they just can’t stand a live gill, a lot of times they’ll just get them in their mouth and crush them then let em go! I had that happen too many times and at many different places too! But then a lot of times they’ll hang onto a bluegill and then figure out they messed up! lol
Does suspend drifting weed out all the channel cats? Haven't seen any in the last couple vids. We don't have blues here so I'm after channels and flathead
I've caught a bunch of blues from the bank on the river that I fish, using shad heads and bodies. Me and my buddy would catch our limit of 15 blues each a night, and maybe have 2-3 channel cat. Meanwhile, using jugs on a nearby lake, and using perch, all we'd catch are channel and maybe a flathead if we're lucky. I don't even know if there are any blues in that lake. There should be, but I don't recall seeing any. It probably just depends on the body of water that you fish. 🤷♂️ Plus, flatheads are somewhat hard to target, imo.
Arkansas River, van buren area there are a few but to be honest I have way better days with cut shad and white bass than I do with skips. Just not as good of a bait as it is on Tennessee river in my experience.
Justin, You have gotten me back on the water and rekindled my passion for catfishing. I am forever grateful.
Same here. Between Justin of Kayak Catfish and Ethan of Online Outdoorsman, I'm back out on the water. If I'm not catfishing with my larger rods and reels then I have my ultra light gear.

I was smiling when I seen you posted video, like a kid at Christmas hahaha enjoy all your videos. Thanks for sharing
u motivate me to go catfishing with big bait, then I fail and watch another video of yours and the cycle repeats lol
That is a big body of moving water. What is polluting it so badly? So much good eating.
Start seeking out videos specifically about presentation and tactics. It is helpful.
I wish I caught fish on my good days like you do on your slow days!!
Wish i had a spot to fish like that that wasnt forever far away
Thats straight facts
Keep pluggin man ik the feels
I know you really love the kayak fishing, but can you please consider another bank fishing episode? It really helps seeing these videos with my wife as she can see what im trying to convey to her.
Tight lines my friend.
Not able to fish anymore, love everything you do, don't change anything
It takes me all summer to catch what you catch in one day sir love the videos man

Thanks Justin, great video. I appreciate the time and effort you put into your videos, and I always look forward to them.
Another good video, Justin...Thanks for sharing...
Drove over the Tennessee river on my way home from Mississippi, it looks beautiful I'm definitely gonna fish it in the near future!!
I fish it every other day I live within walking distance to the Tennessee river I hike about 3 miles down the bank I have a spot that's loaded with flathead I usually catch 5 or 6 over 10lbs every few days
Brother that some Beautiful Scenery! Prime time Catfishin with that morning fog on the River.

I like the solitude and all the information you share
Thanks!
Musical Rods. I like that kind of melody.
Those you call little , in elkin NC on our yadkin river those are monsters .
One of the little state parks around me has monster blue gill. 2 pounders are hiding in there. I caught one once mouth to tail that was huge. Mouth to tail stretching thumb to pinky like the hang ten sign. I was still in the meat on the tail. The pike hiding in there are huge too.
I love seeing big fish on light tackle. I think it would make a great video every now and then when the big cats are slow.
Blue Gill is all I ever use on trot lines & limb lines.
Im currently looking to buy a kayak but with everything going on its hard to find one in my price range. Thanks for bringing us along for the fun.
It's because of you i went and bought me a rod holder for my kayak so I can try and catch some catfish on the river! I can't wait to get on the water!
great video, l enjoy watching you and your comments on what you are doing. go after the little ones with the ultralight, makes it more of a fight. stay safe.

You have that river down! Keep up the good work!
Your fishing is inspirational for me. I wonder if cut bluegill would outperform live bluegill...some days I don't really know what works best. Not having skip jack, I use minnows & sunfish to catch catfish/bullheads.
I love catfishing as much as you if not more. Keep on brother 💪
Thanks for the live bait application

Hunter Davis I’m home from fishing too. Since I haven’t seen a fish all spawn, let alone a bite, so it’s nice to see they aren’t extinct. Sometimes I wonder what I do wrong. It’s 11:30 in where I live and I don’t get many bites after 10:00ish.

I fish for crappie to eat, big cats for fun. Addicting
@@ben7111 I had a huge crappie that I caught and I decided to eat it and it was really good. I fried it
That was a good trip on a nice day. And I always wondered what one of those spinning reels looked like. lol
Bluegill is great bait. Fillet one with the skin and ribs in, hook the fillet through the ribs and throw it out there...great flutter bait that won't come off easy

At 6:43, the second blue, is that the fish making that noise?
That’s what I’m thinking... never heard that before lmaoo
My cat setup is a medium action rod an spinning reel with 12lb big game line
Appreciate the video! We always use live bait here in Arizona, but we have no blues 😞
Very good video as always
Best fishing on TH-cam 🎣🎣👍
Nice I own 2 rough neck rods work quit we’ll for heavy fish
This reminds me of better days on the meramec river in Missouri before it became decimated with Asian carp and gar. I almost cry when I think about the destruction of our river systems here in MO. And elsewhere
Your just looking for a different kind of strike when you smile and use bluegill for bait!! LMAO!
Another great video man!
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 keep it up bro!!!
Are you using your thumb to guide the line on the spool of those Seagate reels?
Hey buddy love your videos! I'm new to river fishing got a boat this year I'm in Cincinnati usually fish the ohio river. I was thinking about hitting the Tennessee river. Are you in Tennessee? If so where would be a good ramp to go in at? Thanks
Please do this live it would be so cool
Love the videos. You have a list of your video equipment that your using?
Another great video 👍👍
I’ve notice in some of Your videos. You have some thick wraps with plastic lock ties. Can You tell Me the purpose of them. Please?
Do you prefer the hobie fin drive or the sportSman prop drive when you pedal! And why?
Justin, i notice you hook your cut bait in top middle of the back, i personally hook my cut bait in the top corner of the back. What makes you hook yours the way you do? Any better hook up ratio in the middle vs corner?
My day is made
Nice video I❤️fishing🎣🎣

I've been watching alot and curious what reels you are using and your rod strength
They're all in his description.
If you could have one fishing kayak what would it be?
hahaha i love that thumbnail. keep it up justin :)
Bluegill Killers, I tell you. Bluegill Killers.
What part of the Tennessee river are you in
Is skipjack hard to keep alive? I have never seen you use a live skipjack.
What size Daiwa Seagate reel are you using? Thanks.
When is the video with 50incher coming out?
Sh... even a dadgum channel cat will crack a big live bluegill, they just can’t stand a live gill, a lot of times they’ll just get them in their mouth and crush them then let em go! I had that happen too many times and at many different places too! But then a lot of times they’ll hang onto a bluegill and then figure out they messed up! lol
👍👍 Enjoyed the video!
What sizes hooks do you use?
Kayak sleigh ride! 😂

I would love to go fish with you.
What county do you fish in?
What size Diawa reel on Amazon?
You should do a video using bait from Walmart
When I make it to the Tennessee River, I’m hoping we can link up and make some content. 🤙🏻
Do you carp fish?
Fishing is great!
Spinning gear? Whats that?????
I love ur videos man
I also wanna note how sad it is that I'm 32 years old and have never caught a flathead ever
I'm 33, never even seen one in person.
Hey Justin !!!
Any Arkies here know when/where I can catch some skipjack? I'm in Conway.
Arkansas River, van buren area there are a few but to be honest I have way better days with cut shad and white bass than I do with skips. Just not as good of a bait as it is on Tennessee river in my experience.
See you cut the top fins off those bluegill. Man you don't miss any of the tricks do you!?👍
When will the spawn be over?
All I saw was slabs of deliciousness! Deep fried nuggets 🤤
