the “dont stop don’t look back” sequence was surprisingly comical with all the furniture just piling en masse and mark telling the grandfather clocks to get outta the way
The device one had me rolling lol. You have this invisible monster hunting you down and the devices just play this chipper tune to inform you that they're ready.
In the living halls level I completely neglected the scanner and opted to hold shift and rely on the urgency of the beeping and the fact that you can outrun the walls
@@maysee2515 honestly the scanner felt redundant because if you were looking at one of them to stop them from attacking you your couldn’t look where you were going and would just get attacked from behind.
That phantom mode is actually such a great concept for a horror game, not being able to see what is hunting you and only listening out for it and seeing what it knocks over to indicate its positioning. Such a great idea
Lixian's editing and Markiplier's personality=Gold. Name a better dream team. Also the phantom mode reminded me of the poltergeist typhon in Prey and gave me flashbacks because the scariest threat is always that which can't be seen
that last game.... is one of the scariest thing i've ever seen... holy shit... just imagine staring at a hall way full of furniture and then suddenly you hear clashing noises in the distance and then the furnitures just start flinging around like a shockwave towards you... @Beast 😈 you are more idiotic them mark. well ofc you are since you are a mere simpleton. your brain has less value on the black market then a dogg its shit.
This is so good! I especially love the second one in this video. The environment going along with the mechanic, the switch from slow and careful to fast and frantic when caught, and the way it gets angrier each time it gets shocked and as time goes on
Yeah like having to run into a vault, knowing your death is immient, but not knowing what is in this maze (0 seconds on timer), while trying to quickly navigate your way is like scary
there's something so personal about the phantom, like legs on classic and shutter mode feels like an animal stalking you, waiting for a chance to strike, the hide and seek moster is playful and just wants to have fun in some twisted way, the living walls are like a living organisim and you're the virus trying to invade it and it's white blood cells are trying to shut you out, but the phantom just seems murderous in a way the others don't you can just feels it's frustration and impatiance as it gets shocked and he starts trowing furniture around more and more rowdly and when you get to one orb left and it just silently spells out "die" is such raw terrifying murderous intent just jeez.

The invisible enemy is such a cool mode. No scary shit just objects flying around as you clumber around helplessly and trying not to make noise. I also like how the more you hold your breath the bigger the consequence from having to take a larger breath
Ok the living halls is actually terrifying. The fact that the enemy looks like a wall and hides behind corners to ambush you with a time limit no less... I wouldn't finish this game I tell you.
Man, this game is simply amazing. Started out on a simple concept, but then revealed many different stages, mechanics, LORE and creatures, so much diversity on an apparently ''simple'' game where you need to collect the orbs.

i like how mark instinctually gets quiet on the holding your breath one
I went quiet and I wasn't even playing the game
I love how whenever I watch people play horror games I think it’s so easy and then I try to play with myself and can’t even open the door or go into a dark hallway lol 😂
I’m better than Markiplier
You’re stronger than me. I have to pause every Markiplier horror lets play at least 7-8 times to take breaks. It’s not even necessarily a fear thing it’s just overwhelming
@@clottedscream aw it's alright, takes time to not feel too scared by them. I used to feel super scared of watching him play too but over time and over countless horror gameplays, it got better! I haven't played a single horror game tho so they still spook me! But yeah, if you go through enough games, you'll be alright! Eventually xd

The Phantom mode is extremely fascinating
When some time in the game you realize what it means that the monster doesn't see you too - you stand in the middle of the room and this phantom plays the same game with you while throwing stuff trying to find you
The concept itself is sooooo interesting
Honestly the fact that like the Monster and you play games to each other, trying to get each other is just interesting

Was really confused why Mark started screaming "NO" just before the light went off and thought maybe something came up and broke it lol
It's not Legs in this one. It's a different monster. Forgot the name.
I like the choice of blurring out for the viewers as well, gives us a sense of mystery and intrigue
I agree on this

You know a game is *really* good when the character has to hold their breath and you feel like you do, too.
Honestly, like I've subconsciously heald my own breath 😭😭
Goddammit now I’m manually breathing, how could you do this?
the “dont stop don’t look back” sequence was surprisingly comical with all the furniture just piling en masse and mark telling the grandfather clocks to get outta the way

the balance between scary and funny with marks videos is impeccable. I dont know of any other creator who can pull this balance off the way he can
8-bitryan, jacksepticeye, coryxkenshin etc.
Manlybadasshero can be serious, funny and spooky
Manlybadasshero. Like I’ve watched a fair share of Let’s Players but Manly is the only person other than Mark who can strike that balance.
gawd damn Mark’s entire comment section is just made up of teacher’s pets 💀

Special edd is kinda like a Mexican mark
The amount of stress whenever he holds his breath and is about to lose consciousness but the phantom's still in the room 😬
The device one had me rolling lol.
You have this invisible monster hunting you down and the devices just play this chipper tune to inform you that they're ready.
In the living halls level I completely neglected the scanner and opted to hold shift and rely on the urgency of the beeping and the fact that you can outrun the walls
Yeah when you got a time limit have to risk it and go fast sometimes
@@maysee2515 honestly the scanner felt redundant because if you were looking at one of them to stop them from attacking you your couldn’t look where you were going and would just get attacked from behind.
That phantom mode is actually such a great concept for a horror game, not being able to see what is hunting you and only listening out for it and seeing what it knocks over to indicate its positioning. Such a great idea
mark being eternally unable to follow the most basic of instructions will always be entertaining
You know it's gonna be a good video when it starts off with Mark being extremely confused.
I would piss n' shit my pants, run like a maniac and then die.
Whenever he says “the halls are alive” some small part of the back of my brain always finish with “…with the sound of music”
I'm only saying this so it doesn't fool any young ones but please ignore the comment above me, it's a scam. Please report and don't interact. Also the halls are alive with the sound of music is hilarious!

I love that Markiplier doesn’t have a single idea what he does 😂
@Beast 😈 you are more idiotic them mark. well ofc you are since you are a mere simpleton. your brain has less value on the black market then a dogg its shit.

@Beast 😈 no
This is so good! I especially love the second one in this video. The environment going along with the mechanic, the switch from slow and careful to fast and frantic when caught, and the way it gets angrier each time it gets shocked and as time goes on
I’ve never really found these games scary but this is the first that actually made me jump
Glad that Mark didn't decide a one and done video for this game. It has too much potential for that
i like how lixian immerses us by blurring the text that mark didnt read
Mark: "Oh my god, the halls are alive"
My tired brain: "With the sound of music...?"
I'm so glad I wasn't the only who immediately thought of that
I love how he cant find any orb, but as soon as he runs to the vault he finds almost half of them 🤣
Mark really is just the surprised Pikachu meme incarnate. He heard the phantom, didn't hold his breath, and was surprised when it chased him
“A lesser man or a coward would back out of the game to look at the instructions again,” Mark would never look at instructions

the game concepts are so good, especially the phantom one
Mark is one of those content creators where the genres of the things they produce has a very blurred line. For example horror and comedy, the suspense is still there but now with some humor, so when we do get scared, it is very noticeable
I’m actually very happy he came back to this because I love this game. It has such a unique concept and is TERRIFYING

The invisible enemy is such a cool mode. No scary shit just objects flying around as you clumber around helplessly and trying not to make noise. I also like how the more you hold your breath the bigger the consequence from having to take a larger breath
Mark: "Oh my God, the halls are alive!"
Me: "🎵With the sound of music 🎵"
I love this comment 😚
I don’t know if other people do this but as soon a video comes out, I grab snacks and get cozy.
That phantom mode is a fantastically creative approach to change up the gameplay. It's so much scarier than having a monster you can see.
I love how even when pausing it at 8:33 it took me a moment before I noticed it.
They're not coming from the walls, they ARE the walls!
they camouflage in the walls, same texture
The creativity of the horror game community just won't run out of things to make
Ok the living halls is actually terrifying. The fact that the enemy looks like a wall and hides behind corners to ambush you with a time limit no less... I wouldn't finish this game I tell you.
