    I cannot even imagine how you are able to video the flight shots without the camera's AF hunting to and fro for the subject during flight. Your skill with the P1000 is simply amazing!

    Not a lot of questions getting answered here, but I'm assuming the video was shot in 4K 30fps? I would compromise to 1080p 60fps for the flight shots as the wing beats were lost.

    Waiting for the P950 to arrive and loved finding this video. The P1000 is an awesome camera but I am blown away by how good your cam/tripod skills were in this. Well done, thanks for the inspiration, from Australia.

    It’s not the camera that makes the picture it’s the photographer.

    This was beyond breathtaking to watch. I am happy you did a video like this with the P1000. Your actual photographs static are crystal clear & tack sharp & for shooting video I find this camera a total game changer. I have the pro gear which costs more, but I will never take a video with it again, the P1000 lets us get so super close to wildlife without ever disturbing them or stressing them out. I have a question & I so hope you can help me out. I SUCK at taking photos with it. I have a great tripod and set it on 3-10 second self timer & on the view finder photos look sublime, but when I come home, they are actually quite horrible. The videos are spectacular but the photos make me cry. Any advice on how to get tack sharp bird images from 1000mm and 2000mm? I'd be so grateful if you could help a gal out ♥

    How are you composing these shots with freezing the Eagles in the sky? I have a P1000 and haven't used it much to get a picture of a bird flying except for a few times and time and time and time again it loses track of focusing so fast that none of the shots are none usable whats so ever!!! From what I found it's focusing has a very very hard time if the object is moving!!!! If the object is still and large enough now it can focus if its not moving to quickly! Now I haven't tried taking video of a bird in 4K and then from there grabbing a one HD still picture from it, is this how your getting one good picture still of the bird by using 4K video then grabbing a one still HD picture from that? I am very curious!! Or are you putting it in Auto, or Shutter Priority, or Aperture Priority, or Program Mode? I put it in shutter priority and move the shutter speed to 1\3000 thousands of a second with no luck ever able to get a good usable picture of a bird flying especially if the bird is doing stunts!! The only great great picture I get on the P1000 thats almost as good as my Nikon D500 of a eagle like you did is the eagle has to be pretty much perfectly still!! The only way I could ever get a great picture of a bird moving in the sky turning doing stunts what not is buying a $2000 dollar Nikon D500 and buying a Nikon $1400 dollar 200mm to 500mm zoom lens and then I can freeze any bird doing anything stunts what ever they wanted 80% of the time I could freeze the bird absolutely perfect!! With the P1000 I tried to take a picture of a dragon fly that the back ground kinda looked like the dragon fly and the P1000 was just hunting for the dragon fly could not focus on it the dragon whats so ever and that dragon fly was there for like 20 seconds, the the camera was just focus hunting could not do it was so frustrating!!! That's why I got the D500 it does so well on singling out anything and able to focus is superior on the Nikon DSLR's. I also have a panasonic FZ 80 bridge camera and it focuses faster and doesn't hunt as much in getting pictures as the P1000. Would be great if you could tell me some of your techniques how your doing this thanks!

    • @JRESHOW
      @JRESHOW  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’ll do my best :) All the stills are stills, not video grabs. I use auto focus single, not continuous auto focus. I don’t get the bird (in focus) every single time especially when they are flying (it’s practice with a little luck I suppose). I track the birds with the eye viewfinder, never the screen (unless birds aren’t moving and I got it on a tripod). The p1000 def. isn’t all to fast at autofocus, so u just got to work with it and find the sweet spot. Aperture priority or auto works good.

      @@JRESHOW Ok thank you that makes sense now!! I am going to try that with the P1000 I almost given up with the camera, but now that you said some things I can relate with especially tripod!! I'm going to give it another shot!, And also I never had it before on single point shot, that could be I believe really great reason why I'm not getting results!! Thank you!

      @@skiwealdo1973 Hopefully the p1000 has been working out for you since you commented. I'm about to buy one soon and I can't wait. I know what I'm getting into with the camera (pros and cons) but theres just no other camera out there that can compare or compete with the specs that the p1000 specifically brings to the table.

    • @skiwealdo1973
      @skiwealdo1973 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@SangheiliSpecOp Hey Hi! I'm going to end up selling the P1000 its not to bad of a camera, but if you want to get 7 out of 10 shots and freeze the action flying by all the time like I want to do! then this is not the camera for you! It takes good shots but the subject needs to be standing still like in portraiture mode like all the time, it's kinda very frustrating! I ended up purchasing two D500 camera bodies with one with 18 to 200mm Nikon lens and another Nikon D500 camera body with a Nikon 200 to 500mm lens and they absolutely tickle me pink there profession ability to freeze the subject birds all the time like 7 or 8 out of 10 shots professional results all the time!! I put the D500's in 1250 shutter speed or 1600 of a second and it does the job will freeze the action perfectly almost all the time. Don't get me wrong the P1000 takes good pictures but the subjects at least with me have to be very very still for a usable picture! The P1000 is for a different user not me, I don't use the P1000 no more it just frustrates me and I end up going home unhappy for capturing high speed shutter shots which I do all the time!! Other than that the P1000 to get in general up close for subjects standing still it hard to beat for a $1000 price. My D500 camera bodies were $1400 a piece used!! and my Nikon 200 to 500mm lens was $1600 brand new, So I have substantially much much more money than I put into the P1000 but the D500 do there job with professional results. I don't know but I don't believe people are buying the P1000 for exclusively for wildlife photography like I do! For the general person and general everyday photography I believe its a good camera to buy for what it offers!!!

      @@skiwealdo1973 Thank you for your insight! I have no experience with the p1000 myself yet but I have watched pretty much every video review there is on it and I know that it is far from a perfect camera. I am a novice though and I think I will like it. Obviously the main point of having a p1000 is the insane zoom on it, and that intrigues me as well. I'll give it a go and see what happens :P

    • @boscosworld
      @boscosworld 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Great comment; they are both dslr cameras - the 5d is about £2000 body only and the 7d is about £1500 body only and have different size sensors. They are totally different types of cameras at hugely different price points when you have bought decent lenses. The p1000 is a point and shoot. It may boast a super zoom and some extra menu options to allow itself to be called a bridge camera, but it's still a point and shoot. Camera snobs normally have no idea what they are really talking about. Good imagery, is good imagery regardless of what you capture it on. Hating on the guys equipment, and trying to flex with yours is childish.
