What are your settings on gm1000 , Australian soil to mineralised for gm1000 I can personally vouch that to chatty on any setting you will find stuff an give you headache at same time , betcha found the targets with sdc2300😂
Of all the high frequency VLF gold prospecting detectors out there, the Monster is easily the worst. If you only use Minelab equipment, you won't know. The digital audio processing of the GM1000 is its downfall. It tries to suppress the ground noise (poorly) and creates clicks and pops which will confuse any beginner. Its an OK detector when used in very mild ground conditions, but as soon as you hit the typical mineralised ground in many goldfields, it becomes a nightmare. Any beginner trying to use one of these for the first time will likely throw it in the cupboard to gather dust. An experienced operator may get results with it, but a beginner would be better served by saving more $$ and get an SDC2300 or GPX6000 instead. Ive owned and used 44 detectors in 42 years of prospecting and the quickest time Ive disposed of any detector was the Monster. Thoroughly hated it. Traded it for a Whites 24K, which to my mind was the best VLF prospecting detector Ive ever owned.
Absolutely. It comes down to the user and the location. You have to spend hours listening to the thing chirp and scream, would drive any newbie insane if they took it out of Auto and used manual sensitivity. I have paid for mine 5 times easy with the gold I have found with the GM1000.
Yes, the Whites now Garrett Goldmaster 24K is one of the best if not the very best gold prospecting VLF unit on the market and better than the ML GM1000.
@@royjohnson465 Ive not used a better VLF prospecting detector in my whole 42 years of chasing gold. Its brilliant! Garrett need to make some 6x4DD mini coils for it. The 6" CC is amazing but there needs to be a small DD made available for 'hot' ground.
Totally agree, took my son out with my GPZ 7000 and the Monster 1000 and go's off its head as the ground is to mineralized. Found a nugget on the day with the Z and I made him go over it with the 1000 and had to be right on top of the nugget for it to pick anything up - No depth what so ever in the mineralized ground once you lower the settings. Thinking of selling it and saving up for an SDC 2300 for him.
I found a 1 Ounce Nuggett with a Whites 6000 Di Pro in Queensland at Clermont even though I was told to go Home.. For Brisbane I also have a Gold Monster 1000, then Yesterday I bought a Minelab EQUINOX 800 with a 6' DD Coil for our Parks. Have you tried an EQUINOX 800 at your Local Gold grounds with any luck???
look on the internet for people who give up. ,you usually can find them several hundred dollars off. like $600. around there more. sometimes. have a good day.
How accurate would you say the " gold chance indicator " is ?
Typically spot on, but remember there are various non-ferrous metals (gold, led, aluminium) you can find with the gold chance indicator.
Thanku for this review much appreciated mate
