I don't call myself an author because I don’t believe in labels.
I believe that story is art - that it's sacred, and that it is and has always been a force that changes and shapes our world. That's why I write, and that's why I create videos (even co-produced an environmental film). I consider the world my home, and enjoy submerging in unique cultures nearly as much as I love submerging in the ocean and riding the waves. I am the author of the young adult urban fantasy series The Blood Race, and am currently working on several new series's. Lovely video. Do you even know they reason for cutting down a Christmas tree and doing things like putting a village underneath it? The act of cutting down a tree is in memory of the 200 giant trees that once were scattered across the plain of earth that were cut down by angels of lord which Enoch recorded. The village below it is a gentle reminder of how big the trees were in comparison to us. To this day there are still remnants of these giant trees and in some places just the stumps remain scattered everywhere across the entire earth for those with eyes to see. Peace be yours
"I deeply feel at home in the shadow of these mountains." As a born and bred Vermonter, I was in exile to Florida for 3 years before my partner could no longer tolerate my homesickness for my beloved Vermont and brought me home. The thing I missed the very most were the mountains. I believe that they become a part of us, always there, sheltering and grounding us. I will never leave them again.

I hear ya’ Sally. I moved to Massachusetts and whenever I go back home my husband notices a change in me as soon as I see the mountains.

I remember so much when I was in grade school in Vermont when we had lots of snow and times we had snow drifts and the wind would blow so hard we couldn’t go to school and that was back in the early 60 s.That was the best time in my life.
My mother and I moved to Woodstock, Vermont in 1984. That summer, the summer of 1984, was the happiest summer of my life. I made a very beautiful garden at the cottage. We never had to lock our doors. My mother is dead now and I no longer live in Vermont. I wish I could go back but I can´t

I know how you feel standing in the snow in the cold in the silence in the wind to breath in that cold cleansing invigorating life giving air with a cup of hot drink.
When we were growing up, my grandparents had a farm in White River Junction. It had been in my grandfather's family for more than 100 years. They divided their time between the farm and their residence in Massachusetts. Some of my best memories as a kid were spending hot summers there, swimming in the White River, the Thanksgivings spent with family, the kitchen warmed by the wood stove that my grandmother cooked on, learning to drive a stick shift in my grandfather's Scout, skiing down the hill in the back of the house in the winter, sitting in the parlor around the wood stove, watching "The Mary Tyler Moore show" on a snowy Saturday night. The best memories ever!!
I was born in Vermont and moved when I was 18 but my heart will always be in Vermont.What a great childhood I had there and I come back often to visit

I loved this video and Vermont which I visited many years ago on vacation. Your video was a visit of times gone by. It took me home to my childhood, living on a farm in North Carolina. Things were so simple back then. I'm going to make a garland with orange slices and pine cones, now that I know how to preserve them. Thank you for the wonderful visit to my past.

i am a native of NH . Years ago when I was in High School my family and I went to our hunting lodge in the mountains and chopped down our Christmas tree and brought it home to be decrorated in our living room. Nice to have memories..

Every year my family and I go to my grandparents cabin in VT! We get all the kids to help cut down our Christmas tree! They always fight over what tree. 😂 it is truly the most magical thing. Drinking hot cocoa, with the fireplace on. While it snows outside. It is an amazing tradition, that I wouldn’t change for the world! 🎄

I lived in Connecticut for 20 years and 21 years in California. I miss white Christmas and horse drawn carriage rides during the holidays.
This was the most peaceful video...I had a heart attack in October and now suffer a great deal of anxiety. I stumbled across your video looking for Christmas videos of Woodstock...I’m going for two weeks at Christmas time this year. I have a heart test tomorrow and I can’t tell you how calming this was to me. Thank you so much, and God bless you! I will search your books...I’ve been reading a lot more since I’m out of work on medical leave. : )

Anxiety is awful but you can get over it and live a life with out fear,look up on TH-cam the documentary called Stressed E.N.T therapy I have tried every therapy available but this just hit the cord amazing, ❤

Thank you for this moment. My mum( RIP) loved pinecones-I can never figure out why it brought her so much joy. I remember her eyes lighting up at the sight of one. She passed away in November and I think of her a lot during this month. Auld lang Syne never sounded so good. Namaste 🙏🙏🙏

One of my fondest memories was as a young boy in St. Johnsbury, Vermont...winter and spring of 1962.
I show my grandchildren of the scenery, people and yes...snow.
It was a time of serenity & beauty.

Christmas means magical
Vermont is a great state to experience the Christmas season in. You can go out and play in the snow and cut your own tree down at one of the tree farms. Back in the late 1970's, the Miller brewing company filmed a Christmas commercial in the Mad River Valley region, it's a tastefully done commercial and really captures the spirit of the season. Years ago when I was a kid we used to have a real tree. We had relatives that owned a small patch of woods where they grew the trees and when we went to cut one down we knew it was our start of the Christmas season.

Ah..Vermont. Lived there in the late 70's early 80's. This truly imparts
the special spell of peace that winter has in the mountains. While I
live in Philadelphia now, Vermont resides happily in my soul.
I live in the Pacific Northwest and am surrounded by mountains like you but for the past 40 years I have dreamed of going to Vermont to see the Fall colors. This video gave me such peace that I have saved it and will definitely watch again when I need to de-stress. Thank you so much for making my evening so relaxing. You now have a new subscriber also

I loved the rendition of Ole Lang Syne, the calmness that you brought to the video and the gorgeous, natural way you decorated both he tree and that wreath, using the last of the tree as a bouquet in water. Using paper bag paper, the wooden candle holders, etc. very hygge. Such a fanciful and wonderful video.

it looks like a peaceful Christmas! I look forward to our early (mid -December because of my daughters schedule) Christmas here in Rochester, over the mountain from Middlebury...with my daughter and son-in-law, and my son, daughter-in-law, & wonderful, beautiful little granddaughter.
Then we will spend Christmas In Fairfax, a long way away but that’s where my son and his family live. it’s completely different there, but still beautiful. Vermont is like heaven, although you have to be willing to be cold.
My family love near Vermont in the Plattsburgh area. The winters can be very fruitful. Deep snow, quiet times in Winter. My husband nad i live in NYS, but we know Vermont and the areas are similar. It is colder wehre my family are and wehre you are aswelll. But it is slower, and much more of a throughtful tiem of the year. The wrth of th fireside and the love of home means so much to most of us, anyway. You have depicted it very well.

If this is the case, I pray this will ease up for you especially with the holidays coming. I hope you will share your music, foods and traditions with those whom you will share the holidays. When I was young my family moved every 3 or 4 years and I grew up feeling like a stranger, so now you know why I assumed you may be feeling homesick. I pray for peace and happiness for you.
