What a superb video! It was the onboard footage that really conveyed the thrill of having a quarter of a horsepower more than the other guys. That drivechain certainly earned its living right up till the moment it finally cried "Enough!"
Just stumbled on this. The races in the vineyard are outstanding. It is so reminiscant of that eare. Sure makes me want to have one. I'll be checking to see if there is an organisation local to my area. Thank you for sharing this.
I know I’m late for the game but I’m hooked!!! by 1:34 you really got me. This has got to be the e coolest group of racers and racing form. Thanks for sharing and posting. 👍🏁👍🏁👍🏁👍🏁 RACE ON!!!!
I just discovered this and, even though I'm sure it doesn't feel that way from the driver's seat....just like go karts....from the sidelines it looks like it's the slowest form of motor racing in existence. And, even more than keeping your position, let alone trying to pass someone, it seems like the most difficult thing is trying to keep this little "buggies" actually on the track, with those super skinny tires and wheels and that rough terrain. Oh, okay....it obviously gets a lot easier on pavement and, in fact they're pretty much flying'!, Man-O-Man, talking about capturing the real essence of early racing. What a hoot!
+Scott Lockwood "...And, even more than keeping your position, let alone trying to pass someone,..." kind of like F1 now. ;) Your last sentence is exactly what it's all about. Capturing the essence of what racing used to be like. Barn built cycle cars driven by crazy dare-devilish farm boys.
I think I just found my new hobby. I was thinking of building a speedster but don't have the fabrication skills. This would not only help me learn but also be more affordable. LOVE IT!!!
Wow! 48.78mph! I have managed 46.4 on a racing bicycle downhill, but these cycle karts look amazing fun. I may have to try and get some friends together here in the UK down my friends farm.
That was absolutely awesome, to say the least. Some of these cycle karts are pretty damn fast. What a load of fun. How long does it take to build a cycle kart, on average? What are the specification parameters? What size engine can you use? Are there any plans for these karts?
it would be fun to see, but flat out I dont think they would be able to make the banked turns. they sound like briggs and stratton lawnmower powered craft.
Outlawflyer78 So, funny thing is... These are all built from scratch on guy’s garage workbenches at home. There are no plans, from blueprint to brake pedal, it’s all on you.
does anyone have information about the regulation for these cyclekart races? could i perhaps throw a TZ-750 into my kart and it still be competitively viable?
Here's a link to the "build regulations" from 2017, that should give you an idea: www.gittrevillegp.com/www.gittrevillegp.com/Blog/Entries/2017/2/4_GITTREVILLE_BUILDERS_GUIDELINES_files/Gittreville%202017%20Build%20Guidelines.pdf
@@xX8NIO8Xx Sweet! im not sure if there are any races held in the states that are at least close to where i live but ive been wanting to build a little cigar chassis with a bike engine all my life, if i can race it ill be twice as happy!
Just discovered this, looks Amazing, want to build one too!
14:32 and beyond are some of the coolest racing footage of cyclekarts I've ever seen
16:30-17:30 is absolutely epic! Puts me in mind of the early Grand Prix posters. Speed, speed speeed! Who'd have thought..
Oh my goodness, you ain’t kidding!!!
Good grief they are getting after it

Wonderful! Youre living my dream! Thank you for filming this! Great work on those cycle cars! :) Greetings from Austria!

I know what you mean. So did you
This really makes me wish i had garage/shop space to build fun things like these

I'm launching a Grand Prix in Reading next year. There are regular meets in the midlands.

man, if only you kept making videos :)
i would love to see them race at indy on a banked turn race track flat out that would be cool

this really awesome! from Portugal starting to get the "cyclekart bug"!! continue with this, a good and healthy way to enjoy life! 5*
Almost 80 kph?! It probably feels like 500 in a normal car?!
Amazing
Why do I like this more than other motorsports?
0:30 I KNEW I couldn't be the only one to see these things and think of making Chitty Chitty Bang Bang :)
im making a front engine 3/4 scale 1932 alpha romeo monza
Never seen these where I live (Taiwan) but I think I finally found a type of "car" I love and might be able to afford.
here's some more info if you're interested!~ www.gittrevillegp.com
I was waiting for someone to throw out a banana peel.
What motors are you guys running.
Generally speaking: Honda GX200 (or clone) motors, you can read more here: gittrevillegp.com/builders-guidelines/
Excelente !!!
Why the dirt and mud?
I fall in love with Auto Union
Looks like fun!
Wow! These are awesome. Were can I get the plans to build one?

What a cool Race-Sport👍🏻😀
When did these things come about? I've ever seen this before!
Captainpegs07 Decades ago. They were created as Grand Prix cars became too expensive, and the desire for racing spread to the masses.
Nice slipstreaming there at 15 minutes! :D
how to buy?
I want in on this. Not sure my person can last the whole 500 miles circuit.
They have multiple drivers im sure of it. Some don't have rear suspension my butt would be hurting so bad 😂
Would make a nice 'around small town car'.. Put in a 5 speed motorcycle engine?
Honda Gx200
Love
can you have a 3 wheeler
I built a Morgan F2 back in 2015: gittrevillegp.com/2020/12/18/morgan-f2/
Albeit, mes amis, the sport is a Wet Dream, it IS of interest.
Now, I have to build one too! I think I'll use a turbine though
"Great" cars in a small world !!
I ran away because of the music.

Meeeeee 2
should have kept going up the hill towards french's canyon and up to jump off...
If someone is selling one of those for Under 600€ (which is too good to be true) i WILL 100% buy it
78 km/h... not bad!!
The Orchard track looks cool but really is not a very good choice for a track. If someone's steering broke you could have a fatality in an instant.
Goog
I wish there was a cheap 5hp V-twin engine. Any more horsepower would ruin the fun of it... but it would be nice to have a better soundtrack.
Looks like great fun.
However, if l did something like this, ...then l would have to have some sort of suspension...spine/back issues 👎👎😅😅😅
bom
Could've done without the funky music. Music kills a video.
Awesome vid, men get older but never mature, we just get better toys
Better than NASCAR. real racing, individualism, but did the sport die?
Green car have little engine than other cars
Sorry i just wouldn't build a car to race on that ground.
Holy crap, get rid of that awful music???? Track.
Make your own videos then
