Alhamdulillah. The implication is, that all those so called scholars had not understood the ayat on "ahsanil hadees", or were not even aware of these ayat. And worse, that also Rasulullah and his close companions were not aware that The Almighty called His Quran, Ahsanal Hadees.

Furthermore if you study the Shia, Ibadi and Adl Tawhid e Adha ("Mutazilites") you'll see a similar spectrum of positions that modern "Quranists" tend to take, in different ways. Shia reject or at least highly skeptical of Abu Hurairah as a narrator, so that's a majority of major Sunni hadith under skepticism, Ibadi don't reject hadith but are careful not to assume any are true saying "it is narrated" for all to make sure you're not lying, intentionally or unintentionally, Prima Quran has some good answers for hardline Quranists about accepting *some* additional guidance outside Quran from within Quran, he's a revert who found Ibadi. Mutazilites have all kinds of wild speculative takes, much like the diversity of wild tasfir you'll find amoung hardline Quran Only Quranists today, but accepted basic hadith stuff like praying tashahudd, however they didn't buy the grave punishment, the miraj hadith, and a few other keystone theological hadiths. It's very interesting to study all the sects (which really compose at least 3 other madhabs) and continue this kind of spectrum analysis.
One thing I appreciate as a Shia is that we have a much smaller number of narrations. Something else I appreciate as a Shia is we have a Quran first mentality. Yes, the Sunni claim that they are Quran first, and then necessitate that Quran cannot be understood without Hadith, so they must be together. We Shia also assess hadith all individually.

I also have no way of knowing whether or not the statements by Nomani (deobandi?) about the books of imam abu hanifa are true or not. are there other sources stating similar? specifically about the first two books (musnad & fiqh alakbar). are you not arguing for a less certain way of understanding the quran? removing the hadith leads to that imo. Basically: 2:143 talks about the first qiblah the prophet and the believers used to pray to, but nowhere in the quran is it mentioned where or what direction that qibla was, so my question is (the point of hadith followers) how did the prophet know? My second question: 3:124 tells us Remember, O Prophet,˺ when you said to the believers, “Is it not enough that your Lord will send down a reinforcement of three thousand angels for your aid?” When did Allah tell prophet Muhammad this? Peace - this is a typical fallacious argument made by traditionalists in support of Hadith. They want to say because the prophet received revelations (wahi) outside the Quran, therefore we have to uphold Hadith which were collected hundred of years after the prophet's death. The problem with this is logic is the following: (1) there is no way of authenticating any Hadith attributed to the prophet besides the Quran, (2) the Quran tells us that our only source of law (Furqan) is the Quran (6:112-116) (3) the Quran tells us that it is complete, fully detailed, and has all the explanations we need (16:89, 17:89, 30:58). Therefore, any revelation (wahi) that the prophet received that is not in the Quran was only applicable to its time and place. Whatever is pertinent to our salvation is inside the Quran.
