Let's also add up that TJ can tap into a burst that increases his power for a long time, putting that together, we can safely assume that Balrog was both outsmarted, outplayed and just not strong enough to put TJ down for good.

So originally Balrog was M. Bison's name (still is in Japan), and M. Bison's name was Balrog (still is in Japan). And the M. stands for Mike. Mike Bison is apparently a tribute to Mike Tyson. But since they swapped the name's, Street Fighter's main bad guy's name is Mike lmfao. Lamest villain name ever.
Balrog was M Bison/Mike Bison, M. Bison was Vega, and Vega was Balrog.
Actually the M now stands for "Master" in Master Bison

9:40 TJ was supposed to lose to show that Ultratech's security robot could be at the best of the best and since Ultratech gave TJ his metal enhancements, they know about it and therefore exposed him for making their robot look bad

Ippo, Takamura and Sendo laughed at this battle.
Hajime no Ippo has characters who are more skilled in boxing, but aren't superhuman to the same degree as characters like Balrog or Little Mac.
