Can run on walls? You say that like it's supposed to be impressive. Jumps from missile to missile? Cool, but missiles are still *WAAAAAAAAAAY* slower than lightspeed, which Wolverine consistently scales to. "Killed someone who's fucking invincible." Invincible is an extremely relative term. By most mediums, Wolverine is invincible. It all depends on how you define it. Anyway, try again.

btw. ripper mode canonicly doesn't reqiure fuel. it's simply that way in game because permanent ripper mode would be way to op. also raiden can carry packs to heal and refuel.

To be fair, 99% of people were probably like "I mean Raiden might be the better fighter, but Wolverine's ability to tank damage is virtually unbeatable. He can just outlast Raiden."
Even some friends of mine who are major Metal Gear fans went into this expecting Raiden to lose, all the way up until they saw the blade going for Wolvie's neck.

At first I thought it was bs that raider won, then I played Metal Gear Rising. Then I changed my mind, Raiden’s too op. I could land 5 attacks per a average enemy’s 1 attack. Then there’s that blade mode that lets you get a 33 hit combo.
But is raider strong enough to slice thanos with the infinity gauntlet on no and I’ve played metal gear rising

And in blade mode, time is slowed to a near stop.

jacky yo Actually Kojima produced, approved and hell wanted Rising to exist to point that he went to Platinum Games to help it get developed when him and Kojima productions kept hitting up walls in development to the point they were going to cancel it. Whether or not Rising is canon is pretty much up to Kojima since MGS continuity ENDED at MGS4.
jacky yo That aside despite how non MGS it is. It fully respects the Metal Gear mythos and its own respectable beast. It is an amazing game and was perhaps one of the best action games of that year.

When I first watched the battle, I was torn as well. I couldn't make up my mind who would win because I kept debating over Wolverine's healing factor and Raiden's superior speed and power. All I knew was that if Raiden could cut through Wolverine's adamantium with his sword, he would win. If not, Wolverine would win. And well, we saw the results. Good job, Death Battle! I didn't even know all that stuff about Misty Knight.

Yeah cuz that's what the show's for haha. A lot of their analysis shows that some fights should probably end quicker, but for the animations they throw in a mix of plot armor, video game logic, dramatic buildup, and creative license and there you go! A good time is had by all... or at least, I still enjoy the fights.

ohhh you guys picked a good one with this battle! You should react Iron Man vs Lex Luthor or Snake vs Sam Fisher next, both fights are some of my personal faves
Acegamer and they got Chris Sabat to voice Snake made it even more awesome
And they didn't even include any of his other weapons he had(yes there's more), There is the Pole Arm he has made if small little robots, Anyway it is used to slice [with the little robots' hands holding small HF blades] And can bend and move[As it is made up of three armed robots holding hands]), there is Sundowner's HF Shears, (slow to swing but do heavy damage, has two blades that can converge from different directions and chop things like shears or scissors), Monsoon's Sai's,(they can control metal like Magneto, flinging metal around and tearing it apart, he also uses it to pull enemies towards him and push them away, not to mention you can throw your other Sai and Blade around with it[Although the blade isn't thrown around in game], not to mention conventional weaponry such as guns, the missile launchers and grenades he used in Revengeance, the different HF Blades he can use,(Machete, Shock Blade, Long Sword, Short Sword, Original, Murasama, Fox Blade, etc...), he could probably use the HF Chainsaw and heat knives as well realistically(although he is never shown to except in the cinematic to save George when he first met him), did I forget the giant HF ChainAxe(Blade Wolf DLC, giant mech you had to fight). This goes into the realm of what ifs but Nanomachines anyone?
Btw Raiden broke dance with Gekkos attached to his feet before getting two body upgrades and flipped the Metal Gear Rex and Ray before his final upgrade, so he was capable of much more than shown, and he didn't use either modes when destroying the Metal Gear Excelcius(Which by the way is hundreds of feet tall/dozens of meters and tens of thousands of tons, and he flipped the whole fucking thing and ripped off its hundred foot long plus sword and beat it in a duel, despite how unwieldy and awkward that sword would be to swing), so he has even more strength than shown, plus he didn't get the Murusama until the final fight against Armstrong(the U.S. Senator with Nanomachines) so he beat everyone with the weaker original blade except Armstrong, but with the Murasama he slashed through his Nanomachine defences. My final points are there was no way to really tell if he was really using blade mode in his fight with Wolverine because there was no indication he used it, like slowed movement for Wolverine and Debris, and he outran that bullet train before the final upgraded body so he is even faster than that, also the sheath attack is used often in the game, but only as Jetstream Sam, but he has Sam's Scabbard and Doktor likely upgraded Raiden's own sheath anyway, the sheath charges up with energy and launches it with great speed and strength allowing for powerful single strikes, or that Omnislash like move he used on the roof(Additional note, the "High Heels" he wears are grips on his feet so he can put his sword on it and wield his sword with his feet[He doesn't have toes sooo]; it goes without saying(but I'm going to say it anyway) this guy is a BEAST and you would NOT want to fuck with him.

Fun fact: The director, Gavin Hood, invited Hugh Jackman's wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, to the set of Wolverine: Origins. Because of the training regimen and preproduction fight-stund work on location, Furness hadn't seen her husband in nearly nine months.
In a practical joke, Hood had her escorted on to the set just as Logan came roaring out of the tank in full beast mode. She was right in front of him, 20 feet away in the shadows, but he didn't see her. A little math later confirmed, she got pregnant that week!

Wolverine would still survive that decapitation. Just Saying... He Healed from a shredder machine that had cut him into a million pieces.
That may be the case as long as his brain was intact, but Raiden proceeded to slice his head and therefore his brain into a million little pieces thus destroying the source of Wolverine's healing factor.

This may be a very late comment, but it needs to be said. Wolverine's *bones* are augmented with adamantium; the *cartilage* that binds/cushions those bones, however, are likely not augmented in such a manner, otherwise they would be too inflexible if not completely rigid and thus prevent him from moving with even normal human agility, let alone superhuman agility.

In case no one has mentioned it, the game you play as cyborg Raiden is Metal Gear Rising Revengence. It's quite fun and my personal favorite DLC is the Bladewolf. I'm still trying to finish all the VR missions..some of those are hard as all get out, but if you wanna 100% the game you gotta get the gold on them. Favorite costume for Raiden..? Grayfox of course! Though..that Grayfox HF Blade makes the game SUPER easy, add in the wig that gives infinite Zandatsu gauge? Overkill at it's finest.
i know this vid is 6 years ago but id like to point out that raiden has unlimited fc (power) when in ripper mode. this can actually be boosted even further when he wears wig C i think it was. this gives him unlimited ripper mode and unlimited power to use. I would know because i use it alot very op combo it allows you to kill most enemys with a regular slash instantly. It kills so fast that its more effective than zandatsu alot of the times
