Hey, that abei puffer looks familiar😉! Wish I could find another one and try to get some babies! The guy that runs one of the LFS's in my town just got a golden puffer for himself. $550.00...wholesale😯! Awesome list, brother! To anyone watching and getting ideas, definitely stay away from those gars and groupers. A lot of people buy them thinking the public aquariums near them will be happy to take them when they get too big. Unfortunately, they're not the only ones who had that idea, and even the big aquariums can only rescue so many monster fish! Great video and thank you for including Pogo in it!✌
@@saltybrackishfresh Homeboy said he'd wanted one for years and when it came up as available, SNATCH! I can't say too much. I've paid over $350 for a fish, also wholesale back when I was still working in the trade. It ain't that much compared to what I've seen some people pay for an exotic pet. $2500 for a kinkajou. $6000+ for a serval or caracal cat or a squirrel monkey. $10,000 for a white faced capuchin monkey. One woman took out a second mortgage on her house to buy a serval! Insane!
@saltybrackishfresh Update I now sell these regularly for about $1200 each. Usually get to keep them for about 2 months before they go to thier forever home! Definitely still a goal to have at home 😂
FYI, the red gar is a genetic mutation of the Florida gar. Since they have weird genes, they only grow to a size of 12 to 14 inches, NOT the said 52 inches in this video. I would recommend at least a 120-gallon aquarium to house them. They are definitely a rare fish in the trade, and a beautiful fish to keep in your aquarium. Nice video and keep up the good work! 👍
I actually think some of this saltwater stuff is pretty common here but I am in Australia and we are covered in reefs; Alot of it is native to the barrier reef and other areas.
I *love, love, loved* this video because I go for the semi rare fish majority of the time now. Having rare fish would be _Awesome !_ So far I've had ghostknife, clown knife, butterfly, blue lobster, eels, shrimp, high fin pangasius (if I'm spelling it correctly). The commons I've had were fan tail show guppies, dwarfs, mollies, swords, Malawi's, pleco, bala sharks, snails, danios, neons etc etc but those were just starter aquariums. My knowledge has grown and so has my love for the semi rare and rare. That's my dream type of aquarium. Am after freshwater seahorses as well but am not sure if you require a license to keep those
Can you do a video of fish you can legally own in an aquarium that are endangered? I heard there are some that can't be caught in the wild but there are still some in the pet trade from before they were endangered.
I remember about a year ago when I started working at a local fish store there was a 9'' zebrina pike for only $399, but sadly I lack that kinda real estate.
They're on my wholesalers list about about 3 or 4 times per year I'm super ear I didn't know they were so rare...lol I'll get some and start selling them.
Good listing...but its almost unfair to put fresh & salt in one go. For its rarity, beauty, easy to keep while being freshwater fish, I would add stiktos snakehead to the list:)
"Bumblebee Groupers" average about 8 feet 9 inches long in the wild but only 8 feet long in captivity. Also, "Bumblebee Grouper" is actually just another name for a juvenile "Giant Grouper" (not to be confused with the "Goliath Grouper" which gets 9 feet 3 inches long)
Yeah some people don't know about the actual fish itself, they just buy for show purposes and their egos but when the fish grows to be a giant, they get shocked. They need to do their research first before buying certain types of fish
finally a list with actual rare fish
A true rare fish investor.
Ong I just bought these rare seahorses today

How do I invest
Oof. That eel is freaky but so cool. Also the pike was so beautiful with that peacock bass tone
My new dream fish is a Japanise Dragon Eel!
Is the japanese dragon eel the same species as the normal dragon eel (Enchelycore pardalis) or is it a separate species or just a locality?

I am obsessed with your content.
There was 8 very rare fish. I would say the Japanese moray eel and the bumblebee grouper are more uncommon
That Dragon Eel emerging from the coral was freakishly frightening. I shit my scales when I seen it.

that’s crazyy… I would honestly be so nervous even keeping a fish like that
I like the zebra pike. It looks like he has a cartoon drawn on his side.
❤ it!
My nephews fav was a gar fish when he was little
Saw a Abei puffer at a small shop 15 plus years ago, never knew what species it was.
They're on my wholesalers list about about 3 or 4 times per year I'm super ear I didn't know they were so rare...lol I'll get some and start selling them.
Bumblebee grouper at my local shop right now
My guess is the short bodied red tail catfish will also have a much shorter livespan?
I've kept about half of these species in the past 35+ years...
The bumblebee grouper is a baby of the queensland grouper
based.
Get a killer whale next
I’ll get one for my new 10 gallon tank
Does it matter what Bicher it is cause I’m seeing a lot of senagal platinum bichers an endelicheri bichers
Good listing...but its almost unfair to put fresh & salt in one go. For its rarity, beauty, easy to keep while being freshwater fish, I would add stiktos snakehead to the list:)

Bichir is pronounced ba -sheer i breed Bichir's and there Not 1000 Dollars ever ! That one you shown is senagali by the way lol i sell them for 60 bux
