In this video, we open our 2nd box of 2023-24 Upper Deck Extended Series!
In this set we have a bunch to chase after. The main 3 chase cards in this set are Connor Bedard's Young Guns Canvas, Leo Carlsson Young Guns, and Adam Fantilli Young Guns. All 3 players can also come in a retro young guns variation. We also found out that it seems like retro YGs fall 2 every box. This may not be 100% accurate but that's what we've experienced so far.
Each box guarantees a bunch of hits but the best ones are the 6 Young Guns or 1st Round Rookies cards, the outburst parallel, and two additional rare or serial numbered cards.
This box costs around $200 CAD per box at the time of recording which is much more than previous years of extended series but considering the crop in this set it makes sense. Of course the Bedard premium is in effect here too.
It appears that Upper Deck is getting a grasp of what they want Extended Series to be and for the most part, the consumers of the hobby are enjoying this year of Extended a lot more than previous years.

Nice! I like that Draft card and I'm glad to get one without paying ridiculous prices. I think Extended box prices will go down, but no idea how much. Does seemed to be buoyed by a really good crop for an Extended set.
Yeah, it seems to be around 40-50 atm, which is nice for a Bedard rookie. We agree, it'll likely go down but not by much. Maybe 20 bucks a box. The crop and hits you can get are really good.

Don't over look Simon Nemec and Matt Savoie their young guns are in this product and they have massive potential to be all stars in the league.
Thanks for the info! We usually keep lower valued young guns when we pull them because you never know when a player might pop off and start performing well. Jason Robertson is usually our go-to example. Not much hype or value his first couple years, but he's great now, and his YG value reflects that. Thanks for commenting 😊
