    Hi mark! I’m currently learning to become associate developer. I’m 22 years old and got some basics down. I got handed a role at my job of maintaining the inventory up to date on magneto platform. I want to become certified doing this. Any tips on getting there? Also, I have no experience in coding or programming but, I want to expand my knowledge in those areas as well, to fully maximize my potential in this. Thank you!

      Hi there. How topical! I just created a new video that I think aligns exactly with where you are at in your programming career 😄 th-cam.com/video/0eXvP47UgzU/w-d-xo.html

    I'm working for about a year with symfony after working with magento 2 and have the same feeling of unfinished business as you did after working with laravel. Now I'm getting back on studying magento to work with it again. I think that at the same time the learning curve beeing steeper than others php fw is a bit discouraging is also a challenge that makes you want to get back to dominate it. great video by the way, thanks!

      Thanks Lucas. Yes, I agree that there is something of a game in accomplishing a really hard feat, especially in programming. After I started breaking down the framework, I actually learned that it's not all super hard! It's just very "architected" and has many design patterns & rules to understand. Great to see you back at it as well! 🤜🤛

      This doesn’t have anything to do with the video, so I’d recommend posting your question to some other place like Magento StackExchange.

    I really want to learn Magento 2, but installing Magento 2.4.6-p2 is a nightmare in Windows. I did have Luma and Magento at one point, but my files did not hage app/code!

    • @MarkShust

      Yea I don't recommend Windows. I'm a big supporter of macOS -- the hardware is well worth the money, especially since the introduction of 15" M2 MBA's.

    Hello Mark,
    I have over 5 years of experience working with Magento, during which I have developed and implemented many complex modules, achieving numerous out-of-the-box functionalities. Additionally, I am a certified expert in Magento. Despite this, I feel that opportunities for compensation in this field are limited.
    Given the growing importance of AI technology, I'm considering a transition to another tech stack. Do you think this is a wise move? If so, what skills should I focus on learning to align with the current technological trends?

    • @MarkShust
      @MarkShust  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      While it feels comp has dropped for M2 devs, I think this is also true for all tech jobs the last couple years. Inflation has a ton to do with it. I made a video about this! th-cam.com/video/0fD8na-Knro/w-d-xo.html -- TLDR; hang in there, it'll turn around!

      Hi Vicky, great to see you interested! I don’t typically discount my courses, but do offer purchasing power parity promos for those living in countries with an unfavorable exchange rate to that of the US. If you are in one of these countries, you should see the promo. you can also enroll in my newsletter at m.academy/newsletter to be notified if/when a promo ever becomes available. -M

    Hi Mark jan. I just started learning programming. I'm self-taught. I wanna become a mogento developer. Is it possible for me? I'm taking cs50 course rn

    • @MarkShust
      @MarkShust  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely! I would recommend getting familiar with PHP first (free course for that at m.academy/courses/php-101/), then think about enrolling in my Magento 2 Coding Kickstart course, which is meant to kickstart a beginning career in Magento (m.academy/courses/magento-2-coding-kickstart/).

    Hi Mark! I am a fledgling Magento developer. I have been a PhpDev for 15+ years. I work for a small business, and we are in the process of switching over to Magento. We will be utilizing open source. I’ve perused the Magento Docs, but I noticed that they are labeled as being for Commerce. Can you please tell me, in your expert assessment, how much and which parts of the docs are applicable to o/s? Thanks!

    • @MarkShust
      @MarkShust  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question… the “Adobe Commerce” labeling is more-so for branding purposes. Almost all of the info applies to the open source version as well. I can definitely see how this can be confusing. There are some obvious exceptions when they reference Commerce-only features (B2B, PageBuilder, etc.), but if it’s a general topic it applies to both versions. Good luck with your Magento journey, it’s a great platform!

    is it possible to learn Magento without coding?

    • @MarkShust
      @MarkShust  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want to build modules, there's no way to learn Magento development without being able to code. You can stick with the BA (business analyst) side of things though or become a QA tester if you don't want to get into coding & programming.

      @@MarkShust I have studied your PHP101 program, you explained everything clearly, I'm considering of enrolling in your Magento program. Is Magento really diffcult as it is said?

    • @MarkShust
      @MarkShust  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad to see you make it through the PHP 101 course! Yeah, Magento can be tricky at first, but if you stick with it and follow my related course prep, you'll be an expert in no time! The courses generally cut out a lot of the time you'd spent (months) in researching the specific topics you need to know.

      My offerings at M.academy are never really discounted, other than during course launches, and for those in countries that have an unfavorable exchange rate to that of the U.S. (purchasing power parity). I try to offer a solid product that delivers great value at a very reasonable price. Students tell me all the time that it's worth more than I'm charging 😁, but I try to keep enrollment rates reasonable.
