Omg your hilarious, just today I was looking up tutorials for midi stuff and now I'm at work and you make this! Insane, can't wait to watch when I get home
as we are very very old we remember the genesis of MIDI the first computer used in studio for MIDI application was a ATARI ST interfaced to a couple Synths...but that was long ago... Great post Keep up the good work
Interesting. Pretty mind blowing to think that came from a single second of a voice sample. Just shows the power of the world of audio editing & mixing. Very impressive!
Oooooo! I learnt a lot from this ^w^ TH-cam didn't give me a notification to me... *hugs* :) I'm not sure why hearing you talk about interesting things seems so relaxing to me 😂 ~mlp LOLA_YT
Ive actually done something like that before with melodyne with all the notes but i never knew how to make it work good. thankz Also i have always had problem with newer melodyne for some reason, like in melodyne the sample sounds good then when i render it it sounds crappy, do you know how to fix it?
Actually, as long as you're not doing anything too complicated, you can do it in the free trial of FL Studio and using the built-in NewTone plugin in place of Melodyne. The only downside is FL doesn't let you save projects, but as long as you're making something temporary and relatively simple it works.
How do you get your slicex sample to play with the imported midi? I can't seem to get it to play at all when I import a midi, but it plays on the little piano roll in the slicex window. Edit: I CAN, but only with certain channels and I cant figure out how to change which channels.
I figured it out. I've never used FL Studio before and turns out i was importing to the wrong midi channel. Just had to highlight my midi notes, select Midi channel 1 and press Alt+C
Me too! I spent a while searching for faster ways to do it. I now have a Vegas extension that automatically places the video clips too: github.com/Cantersoft/YTPMVE
You could try the same process eith FL Studio Newtone. It has a different tuning algorithm so the results may be better/worse depending on the circumstances. Sometimes autotune isn't the best way for a particular sample and you should instead go with simple pitch shifting in Sampler. Finally, the Vocodex plugin can be used to vocode samples into different pitches realtime. I use all three methods and switch up depending on what sounds best!
also you can just cut out it straight from the source vid and pitch it in sony vegas. that's a lot better than fakesampling, because you just don't have to do all this shit
I've tried it this way before, and the result sounds like garbage. Doing it the "hard" way actually allows you to create high-quality sound presets. When I want to reuse the same sample in another video, I simply drag and drop a MIDI file into the piano roll and the entire song is done in literally 2 seconds, whereas people using pitch+/- in Vegas are going to still be manually tuning every note.
@@Strutsss It depends on the DAW you're using. However, I made an extension for Vegas Pro that automatically resyncs the video clips to the audio using MIDI: github.com/Cantersoft/YTPMVE

This is one of the best tutorials I've seen. Thank you so much!
You're welcomesies! 😆
I don't really need this but I'll watch it eitherway, seems interesting
Your Y drive is named "BRON?" That is too perfect!
It's funny, huh? xD I also have a cyan USB stick named "DASHI", that I lettered "E".
@@Cantersoft I love it!
Awesome tutorial... you sir, are a musical mastermind of the highest order! 👍 🎶
You have made music out of nothing and brought life into all of these various programmes. You already possess a lot of God-like qualities! :)

Now thiis is quality content. (Not being sarcastic here I truly mean it)
thanks its very helpful
OoO
This is awesome 😁
I bet fluttershy's pitch can change like this if she wants when she changes size in ponylife 😂
Like #73!!!
Fantastic video!!!
SUPER!!!
Im guessing you can also do this with newtone too right? (the melodyne stuff that is)
Yes. I'd actually prefer NewTone for working with short samples like this because of the way it emphasizes tones-- only I don't have it!
Thank you so much it was very useful

time to get FL legally x)
Is there another free alternative for this? Only external software I have is the Adobe suite

god fuck the first time I tried making a ytpmv I just tried to individually adjust the pitch of each clip in sony vegas, this is way more viable

@@Cantersoft Which version of melodyne and flstudio do you use?
whenever i import my audio sample, it says the file can't be opened. do you know how i can fix this ?
What format is it? Sorry I didn't see your comment; TH-cam didn't notify me.
my problem with it is it doesnt sound natural anymore

Can you please describe your problem a bit more clearly?

woot
Or you could just fake your pitches.

@@Cantersoft Wouldn't we still have to manually resync the video clips though?
@@Strutsss Nope, the clips will have the exact same length, duration, and tempo as the audio. All you'll need to do is import it into a new track.
@@Cantersoft Oh, is it cos the video's still linked to the audio? Idk how it works with DAWs. Does it just import the audio?
