- While there is no denying that Andrew Dabb’s Resident Evil is primarily based on the Capcom video game series, the events of this second tv adaptation of the franchise does take place in its very own imaginative universe while simultaneously having on display the plotline of the video game series as its premise. But having said that, the Netflix adaptation also marks the return of the franchise staple - the iconic Albert Wesker, a character who is canonically dead in the game version. Known for his signature slicked back hairstyle and let’s not forget those deep black sunglasses, Wesker made his debut in the 1996 video game as the commanding officer of the S.T.A.R.S. unit aiding the players with helpful instructions and leaving stockpiles for them.

True, but he also looked good in the movies, especially with how he dodged those bullets as well as his regenerative abilities
Wesker has always been such an icon in the games and for great reason, but the movies have never really captured his character that well. I really like how they changed his looks and some of his back story in the new tv series. It was good to see a different side of his character. However, not trying to be offensive and this is just my opinion, but when i saw the original wesker in the new series, he reminded me more of Blade than Wesker.

This makes sense this explains why Wesker was ready to destroy the world in resident evil 5 he's a figurehead for a company that he doesn't believe in and he can easily clone thousands of others in his image and he already has control over the entire nation in Africa
Easily most popular RE character. I feel the game whenever it does conclude will have Wesker as the last and final series boss.
For how much cloning that was mentioned, and proven in RE6 with Ada. Also, Jake (Wesker's Son) being a thing with his DNA... I wouldn't be surprised if Wesker comes back somehow. I'm praying he does.

i think what they should have done....have original wesker white, but he cloned three versions of himself as black. to throw off the scent from umbrella and if he should die, his work carry's on. it's not outside the realm of possibility since he mentioned how they were altered in the embryo...so original wesker could have made them his doppelgänger. wasted chance there

No it makes no sense for what is obviously Capcom’s attempt at an Aryan supremacist to be anything other than white … seriously would you cast a black actor as Hitler? Trying to make the games canon and having this new series feature one of the key characters obviously wasn't going to work....
I'm not even surprised there's no problems of Alfred Westgate it makes sense for them to make a white clone so that way they have a figurehead that can manipulate the world I see why Wesker what really crazy and resident evil 5

If you are an RE fan of the game series its best you pass up this joke of a netflix series. Its Resident Evil in name only using easter eggs and A few characters from the series.
