Hi Sidney, I'm using a very common grey foam on the bottom and a black ensolite on top, adds up to about 2.75"
I think any foam medium density will do, there is a little experimentation with any devise like this.
I use some of those floor pads to rest the knees when working on the floor. its just the same thing, just different color.

Afternoon Tom - Would this Sole Press apply enough pressure on the sidewall of a rubber cup style sole to ensure a good clean bond between sidewall and the upper?
