That tank needs some pink tail chalceus! Large, beautiful and very docile fish :) Such an interesting fish with unique behavior
Hmm, interesting suggestion. I wouldn't put them in the 600 gallon, but I have another larger aquarium that I think a school of PinkTailed Chalceus would be perfect for. Thank you for the suggestion!
I like it without a bigger fish. Adding a big fish would take away what's going on in the community. Those Mascara Barbs and Royal Trout Danios are amazing
I think I am coming to that conclusion as well, probably best I focus on another couple large schools of little fish.
Awesome tank! Some much different color swimming around and the aquascape is awesome!
Thanks Austin! I am thinking some more crypts for the elevated side areas and I need to get better at consistently dosing the ferts :-)
One of my favorite tanks! I love the sheer size of it and the variety of fish species coexisting - truly a community tank ❤️
Thanks! reading your comment got me thinking and there really is zero aggression...probably part of the reason I find it so relaxing to watch :-)
Very nice, sand would make it a
beauti
I use sand in so many of my tanks I decided to go with something different in this tank lol 😊
As i experience in the that if you put big fish even that doesnt eat small fish still they won't be confident as this is looking like now.
So my suggestion will be or you know it add fishes like bosemani neon rainbows their full grown size is peak for this tank , quite comfortable for other barbs or harlequin rasboras other than that fishes might stress to swim freely.
My fish suggestion : add some panda or sterby corydoras at bottom they will keep bottom clean and albino veiltail bristlenose pleco for the contrast again black rocks or driftwood.
And a school for Celestial pearl danio would be amazing.
And for bottom areas a group Bolivian rams , german blues or electric blues will so cool ❤
Lot's of great suggestions! I need to do an update on this tank soon, it is really dialed in nicely now and looking the best it ever has. 😊
No suggestion for a centerpiece fish, but it would look cool down the center of this tank using slate with different colors of moss to simulate a cascading underwater waterfall effect starting higher in the back and coming down in the front. It could be any height you wanted so it wouldn't block vision to the back while being very dramatic! Thanks.
Cool idea...that has me thinking 🤔
This was a real treat. Everyone left great suggestions in the comments already. Looking forward to what you decide to add. Keep up the great work!
They really did, lot's of great suggestions. I am thinking the advice to not add any one really large fish and maybe some larger Gourami is the way to go.
Absolutely incredible! Great job!
Thanks! 😀
I think red tail sharks will always be one of my top fish. I love watching how they interact with the tank. I could see arch mine graze for hours.
You know I love them lol 😀
Stunning, I hope one day I can run 3-4 big 200 gallon tanks with 3 super red Asian Arowana and I’m happy :)
That would be awesome! (jealous as we can't have Asian Arowana here)
@@AquariumDomain. absolutely I have 2 6ft tanks right now :) with only 2 super reds. It’s a shame they’re beautiful fish
Amazing! My favorite part was between 5 - 7 minute mark, just so beautiful! I totally understand how you could unwind after a hard day at work with this wonderful aquarium!
Thanks Cali-Girl! Hopefully it has the same relaxing effect on others as it does on me. :-)
Your tank footage is appreciated. 👍🏼
Thanks! 😄
1:22 siamese algae eater doing their thing is so nice 😂
Agreed! 😊
That 600 gallon is totally awesome bro.
Thanks! 😀
Such a cool aquarium.
You never stop seeing something new and different.
Some new plants and fish coming soon, hopefully give it that last little bit it needs 😀
@@AquariumDomain. I don't envy all that work but I'm surely excited for your projects.
Thank you for taking the time to share while you're growing your hobby.
Friday evening weekend and a new video from you. Better it can not go into the weekend ✌️
Woot! 😄
The tank is looking good and I like how you’ve incorporated a lot of smaller fish to give it more movement in the tank. Its very appealing to the eye when you have different groups of fish living together peacefully.
Thanks! After reading through all the feedback I am thinking I am going to focus on some more intricate plants / plant groupings and some more groups of smaller fish.
@@AquariumDomain. Siunds like a good idea.. I know it’ll look good when you do
It was a blast to get to sit and talk with you at Keystone Clash! You might consider dwarf chain loaches as they do very well with everything in your current roster of fish. Cheers!
Pleasure was all mine Bentley! Really enjoyed speaking with you and hearing your talk and panel! Plus I know a lot more about Rainbow fish now! :-)
You should add an arrowana, they would get along great.
Lol and in a month I would have an Arowana aquarium lol 😛
This an awesome aquarium ❤
Thanks ColossalKoi! 😀
Eheim 2260 or 2262 would be a great canister filter for that aquirium
Looks like a good filter, but hard to get here in the states. First thing I will do is try and get one of my Fx6's to work...if that fails...going to be forced to buy something.
Beautiful fish. A group of dwarf gourmi might look good in there.Might be good to keep the void. More room for fish. I Can see why you enjoy this tank. It's great, Thank you
Agreed, they would be a good fit 😊
6:04 Never seen panda garra that much huge ❤🤯😳
They are pretty fat and happy 😊
Center of the tank plant: Have you considered red tiger lotus? You'd get some killer red coloration at the top, but you'd still see the stalks of the leaves flowing in the current while not obstructing the view to the back. Would be cool to see what that could look like in a tank this large!
You nailed it...that is one of the plants that arrives later today 😀
still my favorite tank of yours...thanks for the viewing
Thanks! Needs a few tweaks, but overall it has been a very successful and enjoyable tank for me so far!
lily plant would look great in the middle with lots of runners. A flagtail for fish, would keep the tank very clean also.
Yeah, I can definitely see a couple of lilies in the center area. 😄
In my opinion the best tank you currently own.
Hopefully it is about to get better...some new plants and fish coming along with the polishing filter. I really enjoy this tank as well and want to make it as good as possible. 😀
Love the big community tank with all of the variety. Not sure if it would fit your theme but pink kissing gourami are known to get pretty big!
Thanks, that's not a bad idea at all...nothing really looks quite like a kissing gourami. 😛 adding that to the list.
Hello my friend, in my opinion the fish of this tank that I most like are:
Rainbow shark
And the Barb that has a black spot close to the tail
I agree with you, that the fx6 well do a great job, getting yr water Cristal clear.
Don't take to long to make the video of the progress of the new tank.
All the best.😊
Hey Wagner! I put in a ton of work on the 4500 gallon this weekend, shooting to have the update video out later in the week! :-)
Snake skin gouramis would be a good centrepiece fish, they average between 5-9 inches full grown.
They have your typical three spot or opline gourami body shape, so they have relatively small mouths better for grazing and eating insects off the surface rather than hunting other fish
Agreed! I sort of settled on Gourami and larger Barbs for the centerpiece fish.
Pentazona or snakeskin barbs would be a nice smaller addition.
Definitely! I ended up picking up some Odessa & Black Ruby Barbs. :-)
As an alternative to cherry barbs, maybe checkerboard barbs? I agree with some of the other comments regarding crypt balansae. Clouded archers would be nice, peacock gudgeon too. If you’re water is hard, you could get some green chromides, but then you wouldn’t have any plants.
Damn...all great ideas 😀
What about a type of water lily, Christmas tree moss on some thin branches, some cabomba furcata for contrast and for fish some dwarf rainbowfish and some Gold Roseline barb's like the ones at Dan's Fish right now.
Overall you have some of the best tanks my friend.
Hmm, seems like Dan has a bunch of fish I am looking for in stock right now...might be time to fill up a box! 😀
@@AquariumDomain. if you do please do an unboxing video!
Mate, for this 6X4 footer I’d get some archer fish min 4 to 6. They get to about 5 to 8 inches. Top dwellers and only occasionally aggressive when territorial.
That’s a magnificent aquarium you have there, you do like your red tailed sharks lol.
Lol, yeah I am definitely a mark for Rainbow and Redtail Sharks 😀
awesome tank mate, i dont think you need a bigger fish in there , what you might want to do is try adding red plants to bring out the reds and blues on the fish , maybe brighter greens if you dont like red plants
THIS!!!
I agree...I think the plan is for some brighter green and red plants and some more groups of smaller schooling fish.
Tank is looking great! I can't believe you are having success with the val and redhooks together. I'm totally jealous, my silver dollars eat anything green including plastic plants! For a bigger fish, check out snakeskin gourami. They are a larger type of gourami but not giant, have small mouths, very colorful, and a much more peaceful fish than your typical blue/gold type. You could also look into some of the smaller spiny eels, like the peacock eel or some of the yellows. You can keep some of them in groups and they shouldn't bother anything else. No quite the statement the gourami would make, but still be cool additions.
It's been 3 months and so far so good, but I have seen a group of Silver Dollars decimate a planted 265 gallon in a weekend...so I know anything can happen lol 😛 I like Gourami and have a few in there, so definitely thinking about adding some of the larger species...seems like a good fit.
For the plants I think Cryptocoryne Balansae or better yet Cryptocoryne Retrospiralis will give you a slow growing (less maintenance) show piece yet not so bold or dence that it blocks the view to the back. As for the bottom dwellers, how about a dozen Kuhli Loaches. They only get about 3". They are fun to watch playing tag with each other with an occasional dart to the surface.
Great call on the plants! I had a dozen Kuhli Loaches in the 125 gallon version of this tank and hardly ever saw them....I would probably need like 50 of them for this tank lol 😄
I keep a large black shark in the tank with guppies he's about 15 inches. Funny thing with him he doesn't hurt small fish but he messes with the bigger fish. Plus it would go with your theme because you have all the rainbow sharks and red tail sharks...also balla sharks (I also have them in with guppies and they're about a foot long) or tin foil barbs (which have many color morphs) I have a panda tinfoil Barb pair pretty neat and they get pretty big as well.. I've noticed that they're growing slower than regular tinfoil Barb so maybe they don't get quite as large could be a color morph thing. P there are a lot of large growing barbs that you could add some are predatorial but most are not. I would say a giant gourami but they can be a**holes though lol. But a snake skin guarami gets to a good-size and is usually safe with small fish.. But if you want a true monster that won't eat any small fish just get an iridescent shark. I have a pair in tank with breeding severum and chocolate cichlid (I know crazy second time and the larger offspring are getting pretty neat looking ,I'm calling them chocolate severums) but all the fry survived and the iridescent sharks never ate any of them. All the fry are about 1 in now. Did I mention there are also 4 10 in cigar barbs (also known as golden sharks) in that tank. But the parents kept everybody at bay nobody touched their babies.
The more I think about the complexities of keeping any of the possible larger species is making me think I should focus on the plants and some more schools of smaller fish 😀
Albino roseline sharks would look good in there
Absolutely stunning fish. They're very rare tho😅
Agreed! 😄
I like the Gold Roseline Sharks myself. Dan's Fish has them with video footage. I could just imagine a dozen of them swimming around in there!
One brother do you have time to enjoy all your glorious fish 🐠🐠🐟 with everything you're doing around your house 🤔🤔🤔 thanks sharing great, great video again 🫵💯👍
In general yes, but not so much the last few months 😀
Love this tank. Maybe some Hygrophila species? I've had some that grow tall, have smaller leaves but get kinda bushy as well and flow nicely in the water. Just an idea on the plants.
Good call on the Hygrophilia, going to look into those and maybe some more crypts for the elevated areas on the left and right.
It might be hard to find a fish larger than the royal trout that's compatible with small rasboras. How about adding odessa barb to fill out the lower part? The ruby coloration on the males are quiet amazing.
Thank you for the reminder on the Odessa Barbs! I was planning on adding those a while ago and totally forgot about it lol 😄
@@AquariumDomain. Most welcome
what a beautiful little baby :)
What is the long black fish that looks like a trout? Awesome tank!
That would be the Blue Spotted Hill Trout (Barilius bakeri ) awesome fish, but a series jumper...I have them jump in smack me in the face when doing tank maintenance 😊
Love this tank ! I’m only a couple minutes in but what are those fish that briefly swam into the frame at 1:15 ?
Everyone notices those guys...they are Barilius bakeri Hill Trout Danio 😀
The tank definitely can use some more Denison barbs. I have a group of 12 and they look stunning and a couple of them are huge
Have you seen the gold ones at Dan's Fish?
Tried to get them, but only 2 left and went I checked out the were already bought. :-(
@@AquariumDomain. What you picked will look amazing bro!
Dan’s fish is selling Mascara Barbs on their website right now
Sweet, thanks for the heads up! 😀
Like the Eheim 2262 aka 1500xl , way better filter than FX6 IMO, holds way more media and no by-pass.. Second choice for me would be a working Vortex Diatom filter or if you prefer something newer, 2 x Marineland Polishing interior cannister filter and charge up the micron filter with diatom powder. 2 of those would make your water crystal clear in a couple of hours and be about 25% the price of a Eheim orFluval.
I actually have one of those Marineland Polishing filters internal canisters...I need to dig it up and give it a try.
Even without the diatomaceous earth, the micron filter does a good job clearing up & polishing. They have a decent flow ( about or just under 300 gal./hr ). Let us know if that does the trick. I use one every couple of months in my discus tanks. They work for me.
@@AquariumDomain.
What about the tiger lotus or Nymphaea zenkeri - it an Asian plant and mostly see through due to the long strings it sends to the top with leafs.
tiger lotus are beautiful. I just added one to my 30 gallon tank and it definitely catches the eye.
Both good ideas 😀
Definitely! Tiger Barbs are highly underrated. Too many people don't keep them in proper groups and then complain that they nip other fish...6 or more and they will hang with their own kind and leave the other fish alone 😀
Well you have some options for a large asian fish. But not many that i can think of atleast.
Giant gourami 20"+ usually super friendly with owner but risky to keep with fish that small. Good news is they like pellets and fresh veggies so theyre easy to feed.
Fire eel 34-40" friendly after theyre tamed but you wont see them unless feeding before that probably. Probably gonna want to buy a larger one to start with 9-14". Gonna have to start adding earthworms and frozen shrimp to the shopping list. Ive never seen one eat prepared foods before. Super chill with everything exept other spiny eels.
Tiretrack eel 24-30" Theyre basically a slightly smaller fire eel with different colors. They eat the same things and like/dislike the same things.
I am a fan of both of those Eels (in another tank one day), but the more I have thought about it I have decided to double down on more intricate plant scape and increasing the groups of medium fish....ie. Denison Barbs, Mascara Barbs and Gourami as my top water "big" fish and get some more schools of smaller fish to fill in.
@@AquariumDomain. fair enough I didn't realize you ment in that size range.
If you can find rohans barbs they'd be cool to see. Same family as mascara barbs. Harder to find usually though. More pink as apposed to the mascaras barbs greens.
I'm kinda surprised you don't have red melon barbs, snake skin gouramis, or golden wonder killis. At least not that I remember seeing in the videos 😅
I've heard some wild bettas act similarly to dwarf cichlids if that's something you'd be interested in.
@@igotboredfkit I was originally thinking larger, but I do still want to keep smaller fish as well...so kinda down sized what my big fish will be. Oh and great call on the Betta...that gives me some ideas 😀
These barbs would still fit optically well to it, if you do not have these yet: Pethia padamya
And as a big fish, for example, a group of these would look imposing: Barbonymus schwanenfeldii
Funny thing is that I was planning on adding some Odessa Barbs, but just totally forgot about it. I have had them before and love them.
Hi.. great channel
Do you plan on getting any pearl gourami? They would look amazing.
Thanks! Definitely, Pearl Gourami would be a great fit for this tank. In fact I need to beef up the group of Blue / Gold Gourami already in the tank. :-)
That would be awesome to see and a great addition to an already beautiful community..
What kind of food do you feed them they look good
Mix of Ocean Nutrition Community Flake, Vibra Bites, Tetracolor tropical granules and Extreme cichlid pellets.
Black sharks get monstrous and may eat plants, could be aggressive with your ither sharks but you might just have a couple other tanks to graduate it to later if neeeded
Yeah Black Sharks are little bigger than what I was thinking about 😀
Also, just curious how big are those rainbow shark, Denison barbs and that huge redtail shark ? Looks like you got some pretty mature specimens in there, all looking small because of how massive the tank is lol
Redtail was moved over, but most of the fish in the tank grew up there. Redtail shark is probably 8 inches but thick and tall, Rainbows are probably around 6 inches.
hifin banded sharks, bala sharks, zig zag eel, or knifefish(not clowns)
I have thought about Bala Sharks for sure and would love a Zig Zag Eel but I need to check on whether they would be compatible with the smaller barb and rasbora species...great suggestions!
What are them big torpedo shaped fish? Black ones?
Possibly the Siamese Algae Eaters?
Electric Blue Acara
Funny you say that, my friend called me yesterday and said he has a whole tank full of Electric Blue Acara babies growing out. 😁
Lace variant swords?
Hmm, that is a good idea 😀
Add a pair of leaf fish
I don't think an ambush predator would work for my smaller Rasbora 😛
snakeskin gouramis can be 6-8 inches
Good call! adding those to my list 😄
Just curious; can I pls have a stocking list
That would be a long list 😃 All the fish are from these species: Barbs, Rasora, Loaches, Rainbow Sharks, Gourami, Rainbow Fish and Danio along with some Siamese Algae eaters and Panda Garra.
Tinfoilbarbs or balashark
I have always had a soft spot for Bala Sharks! 😄
Severums?
I love Severum, but keeping this tank all SE Asian species.
Giant gourami
Cool fish, but that may fall under the too big category for what I am looking for 😀
What about something to eat the algae?
more plants will help with that issue
and more plants are coming 😀
I was hoping my 20 Siamese Algae eaters would get the job done, but hopefully adding many more plants will tip the scales 😀
@@AquariumDomain. nice 👍🏼
To be honest most australian fish that are large would definantly eat most of your tank, so no barramundi, no bass, maybe look into what aussies call a yellow belly, i think its a yellow belly perch by name, but they get around a foot and a half long and are shaped like a giant praecox rainbow with a yellow belly.. one of those might be cool, or pay for a 2nd home loan and import a lungfish 😂
Yeah, I have been drawing a total blank on a big SE Asia / Aussie fish that would work with this tank...so thought I would throw it out there and see if anyone had any ideas. My Rainbows and Mascara Barbs still have some room to grow...so maybe those will be my big boys. Probably focus on some more big schools of little guys lol 😄
@@AquariumDomain. you could google pics of the big yellow bellies, there mostly vegetarians so will go good in a comunity tank with smaller fish..
What's the grey fish with dark lateral splotches, orange/red eyes, and orange/red tipped dorsal and anal fins, white caudall fin? Looks like the females have only white on their fins.
Those are (Barilius bakeri ) ie. Blue spotted Hill Trout or also sometimes called Royal Trout Danio. Beautiful, great swimmers and crazy jumpers. 😄
gorgeous@@AquariumDomain.
What are the cyprinids that come across the vid... 0:37 first time. Grayish body, faint stripes in the body, red anal and pectoral fins, with river tipped caudal fin?
I think you are referring to the Barilius bakeri
@@AquariumDomain. Thanks. I have never seen them so dark and such red fins before. Lovely fish.
If you do get a big fish that won’t eat the others you would have to worry about it eating your plants being that it’s a herbivore.
What's the fish that is sort of shaped like a rainbow, and hasa olive brownish body with faint black blotches along the lateral line with either orange eyes and orange trim around the dorsal and anal fins, or white eyes and white trim around the dorsal and anal fins. I assume it's a sexually dimorphic species. Look to be about 4 inches long but scale gets wonky when looking at a video of a tank that's much larger than I'm used to.
There are three of them in frame at 4:41, but don't blink or you will miss them!
Those are Barilius bakeri and they are full grown, about 5 1/2 to 6 inches long.
@@AquariumDomain. Beautiful! I've never heard of them before!
Love it man. I sent you an email a while back. I'll text you soon.
Got it! will text you tomorrow!
