At 13:33 that's actually another Lego TH-camr called Tommy C Bricks! He did several videos on his journey towards building that Spiderman Statue of Liberty MOC.
Yes, we were very pleased to have Tommy C Bricks and Topic Bricks at the event. It's such a pleasure working with them - they're so down to earth and friendly, and more than happy to chat about their fantastic builds. :)
Was good to try and sell you my Disney train yesterday 😂. Great set up by the hosts. Did you sort your loose hanging lighting cables?. I meant to discuss a solution with you yesterday
Yeah, I used command cable hooks in the end, they’ve done a great job. And I was very very tempted by the train - if I hadn’t already bought the Loop Coaster online that morning, I’d have left with it!
13:22 I’m pretty sure that the guy displaying the various astromech droids including Chopper and the delorean’s is the TH-camr Tommy C Bricks/ Tommy C Figs. 🤔🤷 He does videos about his builds including the giant Statue of Liberty minifigure with the crane he was also displaying there.
Yes Tommy was at the event. He's such an amazing person and so down to earth. We were so pleased to have him at the event! We also had Rosie from Topic Bricks right beside him. 😊
Lovely see anna Confidently chatting away with traders. Insiders weekend probably did hit the traders on sales. Would of been good going early this week to grab a bargain or two.
I have Tower Bridge in my garage. Mostly unbuilt after someone dropped it and lost a few of the pieces. I need to get it out see exactly what I am missing because I really want to build that set. Weirdly, I still cannot remember how I came to have it in my possession.
i have the tower bridge it was one of the hardest things i buildt cuz no numbered bags and you build two at the same time , beautiful once its finished though i never want to build it again lol
The thing about tower bridge is that it’s over 4000 pieces and not one bag is numbered so to build it u would have to open every bag I got one of the tower bridge a few months ago bnib for 235
@ yer I opened the box and looked at the bags and thought wtf no numbers on the bags so u have to empty them to build it it would take days lol I still got it cos got no room to build it yet lol but when I do it will be a two person job lol
We’d already looked up the dimensions this afternoon and realised it was too big for her shelves so she had nowhere to put, so she was already 50/50. You’ve saved her!
I bought both back when they originally came out.... I've built Tower Bridge 3 times and Big Ben twice... but then I really enjoy rebuilding lego sets, I feel that's part of the fun of lego!! They look amazing on display... but they are large 😊
most brick conventions just don't seem to offer much value and end up wasting time having to pay for the privilege to look at overpriced sets. Would love to see a convention mostly about mocs and even some talks from designers etc. The creative side of Lego takes a backseat in favour of price gouging.
They're actually amazing, giving people a rare opportunity to see/buy sets that are retired. Ofc they'll cost more than the rrp back then... 40 year old cards cost now 10 times the rrp back then...
Interesting video, especially the part where a trader tried to uplift you by 2% for paying by card.. I'm pretty sure that's against the law in England.
Yeah, someone else has mentioned that too. I didn’t realise that was a thing. I’d like to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they didn’t either, because they seemed lovely.
Think it’s a big con when they are selling sets that are still out in the shops and on line for more than they cost online and in shop and even when they are on sale they take the piss
The value of anything is what someone is willing pay, simple as that... Those trader's are the people who actually give a chance to people to buy sets that are out of production and would be impossible to find if it wasn't for them. Sets that are available in stores people can easily search on the spot and decide to buy online instead
@ i know all about it been to a few Lego events that why when I see something I like and know u can’t get it in the shops I look it up on line but it does take the piss when they add on a lot more to those sets that u can still get in the shops tho
Because I don’t know who the creators are. If someone puts their name on their table I try to include it in the shot. If they don’t, then not sure how I can be expected to credit them?
Thank you for flagging this. We specifically told all of our exhibitors and traders we were more than happy for them to promote any business/socials/TH-cam channel that they might have, so I agree it's a shame that they didn't have their names by their exhibits. I'll take that away as an action for the next event and perhaps print their names and put it on the tables for them! Thank you so much for the feedback! :)
Thanks guys for grabbing the wreath and turquoise block from us! We hope you had a great time :)
Our pleasure!
that looked like a good convention
We had a great time
Thank you so much for the kind comment - the feedback we've had so far has been amazing! :)

they need to take Inspo with those lego art pics. They were really awesome!
We agree!
Those art pieces on the stage were very cool!!
I think so too!

@blockpartyuk perfect solution. I'm sure the train may make other appearances in the future. Loop coaster is a cool set, too 👍🏻
11:39 look at some of the prices on that chalk board 😳😱

I am loving all these uploads!
Glad you enjoy it!
Never too much Batman

Yeah, if I hadn’t already spent £500 on the Lego website before we got to the convention, I’d have probably left with that Disney train station!
the hogsmeade winter village set you want is always on sale at smyths
Anna - don't talk to me, also Anna - talks to everyone! 😄
She’s a contradiction

Yeah, I think Anna’s been fully put off it by the comments section and is probably going to sell it!
@blockpartyuk it's beautiful if you have the patience to do it looks amazing
Do they people have website that u can by instructions for the dot art work plz
I haven’t been able to find one unfortunately, I wanted to order some too!

@@blockpartyuk that’s a shame cos as u say that’s a set that Anna wanted but yer it’s not good no numbers I think it’s the same with Big Ben as well

A good convention has a good balance of traders and mocs. I think this one hit that balance nicely.
It’s been illegal to charge extra for card payments for a loonggg time now!
Wasn’t aware of that, and I doubt they are either. I don’t think it’s a big deal

If people think they’re too expensive they won’t buy them.

Why do people filming these events never credit the creators, beyond rude.
Because I don’t know who the creators are. If someone puts their name on their table I try to include it in the shot. If they don’t, then not sure how I can be expected to credit them?
