I gotta replace my pump soon, I have a crank and no start problem right now. No leaks, but a quarter million miles takes its toll on things. Anyway, thanks for the video, you made it seem a lot easier than some would like to believe.
Pro tip for this job, use a short 18mm socket with an extension on it to access the bolt that cranks the hpop (the one with the giant washer). It gives you the clearance you need to attach the socket with the heater hose that's in the way. Also, do yourself a favor and buy adapters for your wrenches so that you can use all of your available ratchets with the same size socket. I had to get creative to get my ratchet to fit perfectly between the radiator fan and the hpop reservoir, etc. Edit: Also, thanks for the video B.D., it helped a lot.
Thanks I bought my first 7.3l 15th ish obs these one the ipr sensers sleve and nut was sitting in the valley when I pulled the fuel bowl chasing a fuel leak so hopefully I find new fuel hoses and she runs again soon
Amazing video...well not really amazing, but I am fortunate to have found it. I have a pouring leak from the HPOP which is not coming from the usual 3 O-ring spots and think it must be the seal or the bolt I n the underside? Anyway, I am doing this tommorow.
Yes that or the pedastal O-rings, I had the same thing (working on it now) I cleaned the valley out, started it and waited to see where it was coming from (Hpop gasket it’s self was my problem)
So I found out what was the matter with that I took it to another shop $2,500 later and still not running the PCM went out in it and I don't know if it was because of the tuner that took it out or what but we're doing a little different tune for it
Not my video but the truck is a 7.3 diesel. And riffraff is a name brand of a company or parts that he is getting the High pressure oil pump fixed from.
928 OBS I literally just got it out after 30 plus minutes, the truck I’m working on is a manual so no problem there. The clearance is so dang tight haha

TKU for taking time to Thoughtfully Share !!
Lol I was thinking this guys hands are bigger than mine, I doubt I’ll drop the washer 🤣

What method did you use to troubleshoot and diagnose your HPOP. Did you have a no start or were you having low pressure and high duty cycle.
How do you get this to fail in the garage? Outside in the snow is no place to do valley work :)

You say the bolt broke loose like it was a piece of cake. I can't get mine to let go.
Will a bad hpop cause a no start issue if the injectors arnt pushing out fuel or oil
Just bought a 95 F250 myself. Having to replace the HPOP too. Hopefully will fix my no start issues.
928 OBS the guy I bought it from had it diagnosed at a performance diesel shop. I called them to verify the diagnosis and they said it was the HPOP
928 OBS nah man. I'm pretty mechanically inclined should be simple.
928 OBS my fuel bowl has been relocated so it shouldn't be bad. Also I have the connectors like you do so I don't need the tool either.
@ Blowing Diesel
Having mine done. My symptom was massive oil leak into valley. Is this common for this failure?

Exactly the video I needed. Great Job !

Coming right along brother! Keep it up!
928 OBS is it like rusted on there, or just stuck?
Okay, I finally got it. Ho, boy, what a pain.
On a scale of 1-10 how hard was this job? Also how long did it take ?
Nice video!
Great video, thank you!!
Thank you!
Did you have to remove the HPOP reservoir?
Awesome video man !!
Am I supposed to drain the reservoir?
Badass video 👌🔧
Thank you!
I believe superdutys are the one's that have quick disconnects.
Was this a diesel gas and what is riffraff?

How the fuck do you get that drive gear bolt undone

Where are you?
The real question is would you do it for 20 bucks and a 6 pack of beer
Led light dude, twice the light and no heat
who actually says hpop. it’s only for typing.
Patrick Coyne why do you have to be a douche? They are made for cleaning vaginas but here we are...
Spent some time working auto a auto parts store and you’d be surprised tbf about 90%
