True - However, this one size fits CBTC approach all needs to be better studied, since the entire CBTC system at PATH was CRIPPLED very recently by some hackers !!!
R262 will be equipped with CBTC . are meant for the Lexington Avenue Line. for the 4 , 5 , 6 line, By R262 are delievered. Lexington Avenue will be CBTC equipped
I'm just praying for CBTC on Lexington Avenue. The delays are becoming a headache and the overcrowding isn't pleasant. I understand the changes to the BMT and IND lines but the IRT needs more than just station renovations and elevator accessibility
The CBTC programs should’ve prioritised the IRT lines first. It’s ridiculous that these unused lines get these programs over the most used ones in the system.
I REALLY HOPE CBTC comes to the Broadway, since they STILL use the old R46, and R68 trains on the N Q and W lines. Those trains are old, as well as the signaling technology, not gonna lie. They used to use R160 trains on the N Q and W lines, but unfortunately swapped the 46s from the R line, since they are using the 160s for CBTC testing I think on QBL. But I REALLY DO HOPE that NTT trains come back onto the N Q and W, so we can get to hear those cool automated announcements again. I'm from LA and not NYC, but I've been to NYC once in 2015, and got interested into their subway system ever since.
The R160s are permanently staying in Jamaica Yard for QBL CBTC. It is expected though that the R46s from the N, Q, and W will be replaced by the displaced R68s from Concourse, as the D will be getting R211s. Additionally, some R68/As might be displaced from Coney Island Yard as well. So you might be able to expect some new techs on the Broadway line in the near future!
With Broadway (mostly the Astoria line) expected to get CBTC, this is what I envision the rolling stock assignments will be: A/C: R179’s (10-car sets) and R211’s B: R211’s only D: Same as the A/C E/F: R160’s only (both 10-car Alstom and Siemens sets) G: Same as the B J/Z: R160’s (8-car Alstom sets) and R179’s (with some occasional R143’s during rush hours) L: R143’s and R160’s (8-car Alstom sets) M: Same as the J/Z (will use R143’s during weekends and late nights) N/W: R211’s only Q: R68/A’s only (re-routed N trains to 96th Street may share R68’s with the Q) R: R160’s (10-car Alstom sets) only (may share both R160’s and R211’s with W trains extended to Bay Ridge-95th Street during rush hours) Franklin Avenue Shuttle: R68’s only Rockaway Park Shuttle: R179’s (10-car sets) only
The R doesn’t share sets with the W because they are based out of different yards. The R is based out of Jamaica and the W is based out of Coney Island. The R will only have R160s and the W will have the R211s
What do you think about MTA’s plan to still purchase mostly close ended R211s(and 80 open-gangway) for the optional order, I think it is a little disappointing…
For anyone not from nyc, mta in 2024 signals still mostly use a ancient system to ensure trains are even spaced apart. And what do they use to stop trains from being any type of efficient? Pneumatic trip arms effectively eliminating Any time cutting as if the mta knew what on time means lol
@@ElJibaro718 people forget that the NYC subway system was underfunded for decades until the late 90s. Countries like France and Spain have lower cost because they have a continuous sources of funding from their central govt (something the US is allergic to), therefore it makes everything cheaper and faster .It creates expertise.
It’s about time it’s long overdue

I hope the IRT division 1- 6 lines get it rei soon because the delays on these lines are horrible.
Personally the delays on the B division is unacceptable.

Another video we’re sooo back!
3:14 vandalized R160 (especially my Siemens 😭)
This is Awesome
I hope Lex gets it soon as it's the most popular line, and albeit one of my favorites.
With Broadway (mostly the Astoria line) expected to get CBTC, this is what I envision the rolling stock assignments will be:
A/C: R179’s (10-car sets) and R211’s
B: R211’s only
D: Same as the A/C
E/F: R160’s only (both 10-car Alstom and Siemens sets)
G: Same as the B
J/Z: R160’s (8-car Alstom sets) and R179’s (with some occasional R143’s during rush hours)
L: R143’s and R160’s (8-car Alstom sets)
M: Same as the J/Z (will use R143’s during weekends and late nights)
N/W: R211’s only
Q: R68/A’s only (re-routed N trains to 96th Street may share R68’s with the Q)
R: R160’s (10-car Alstom sets) only (may share both R160’s and R211’s with W trains extended to Bay Ridge-95th Street during rush hours)
Franklin Avenue Shuttle: R68’s only
Rockaway Park Shuttle: R179’s (10-car sets) only
The R doesn’t share sets with the W because they are based out of different yards. The R is based out of Jamaica and the W is based out of Coney Island. The R will only have R160s and the W will have the R211s
Never cook again bro

We are very familiar with delays caused by the Signaling system that is over 100 years old
Here on time unlike the mta, i don't think they could afford to do that
Is his voice okay? (He sounds sick)
Yeah probably. Health should come first if anything
The Broadway lines excluding the Yellow R line is most likely last for CBTC

They're modernizing the system bud, so there's that.

CBTC - Catch Bus To Canarsie - Corona or Continental !!!
@robertko5425 I Don't Even Know What That Even Means I'm Sorry About That!:-\
Can you do your next video about they gonna eliminate the struggling Z train and bring back the brown M train, please?
Lmao why broadway. Though they are fine with their SMEEs. Their signals are newer and can wait for the R68s till 2035
CBTC saves time I think, it’s not that the signals are bad
mystic i thought you weren’t going to post anytime soon? not trying to hate
Im early :)
