    Hear me out: The Godhead represents the game developers who fabricated all of the Aurbis and the lore. If they were to stop making games and "wake up," the dream representing the universe they created would cease to exist. The Psijic Endeavor is something we players/our player-characters can achieve by learning more about the deep lore of the Elder Scrolls and coming to the realization that the Godhead is the devs, which leads to Chim. Chim is what a player who has learned how to mod the game has achieved. As a modder, I can do more in an Elder Scrolls game and understand how and why things happen because I have a deep understanding of the inner workings of the universe/game. I can alter the reality of the universe/game just like Talos did by "deleting" the jungles of Cyrodiil. Finally, a player who reaches Amaranth has decided to make their own game. They sacrifice their freedom to play other games/dreams because they've made their own. And if they were to stop "dreaming," the universe they created would cease to exist.
    *Mind = Blown*

      Assuming this is true, that would also confirm the "Fallout and Elder Scrolls are set in the same universe" theory. You can mod Fallout in the exact same way you can mod TES games, so doesn't that mean you can achieve Chim in Fallout as well? Maybe the Fallout universe is just set in a different Kalpa where magic wasn't widely discovered (except the magician guy in Nuka World), and where technology was used instead. As for the Et'Ada, maybe they went by different names or never revealed themselves to humanity? Sure, there are a lot of holes in this theory, but it's just a thought.

    Fun fact, the Redguards and the Hist are from previous Kalpas. I don't know how the Hist survived But the Redguards survived the last Kalpa because their ancestors, the Yokudans managed to escape it before it was devoured.
    Ruptga, the chief God of the Yokudans, knew that Satakal (Alduin from the previous Kalpa) was going to devour the world. But Ruptga wanted to save his Yokudans. So instead of fighting Satakal, Ruptga and his Yokudans sidestepped through time and moved to the new Kalpa.
    Think of it like this. Imagine you're on a train track and you see an oncoming train. Instead of letting yourself get hit by the train, you simply step over to the empty train track. The tracks being Kalpas and the train being Satakal/Alduin.

    As I understand it, this kalpa is special for one specific reason: Akatosh. "Anu" the soul of order and the time god is insane and split into many parts, most notably Auriel (the elven time god) who is the beginning of time, and Alduin (the Nordic time god) who is the end. These two kept the kalpic cycle going, because Anu is fundamentally opposed to the more chaotic Lorkhan; he likes cycles and patterns, and when he gets his way, the kalpas reset and all the progress anyone might have made to realizing the truth of the Godhead is reset. In the First Era, though, a human supremacist cult created Akatosh in a ritual, creating a new time god who was infused with aspects of Lorkhan - in other words, they created a *sustainer* of time. Akatosh is the source of the Dragonborn whose destiny it is to delay Alduin forever, pushing this kalpa well beyond the point it was meant to end, all so that more people can discover the truth.

    Magnus? Got tired with Lorkhan and Auriel's bull---t and quit;
    Malacath/Trinimac? Was heavily disliked by his peers and was pushed out too, but became a modder later;
    Jyggalag? The game's most famous modder who quit the community after a heated feud with the other modders, returned later under the pseudonym of Sheogorath and nobody realized it yet;
    Talos? A player and big fan that joined the dev team and helped with the sequels/later game versions;
    The Thalmor? A very toxic part of the fanbase that hates the new dev and the direction the series is going towards;
    The Tribunal? Modders that joined the dev team for a while before leaving/being kicked out;
    The Kalpas? Each game version/sequel of the game;

    I think everything is real, just in different ways.
    An author for example won't just pull stories out of his behind, those stories are real inside his head and he only writes down what he experiences in that world.
    The Elder Scrolls however are the reality inside a dream of a fictional character, who's also real in his creator's head.

      Thought space / idea space is an interesting concept. While real numbers and imaginary numbers are both infinite, there are infinitely more imaginary numbers and you can still use them in real math. If reality has a similar structure every story every lie splits off a tiny imaginary universe the exists at least as someone remembers the story or lie. Terry Pratchett uses L-space in his books to represent every book ever written alone with every imaginary book that might have been written and even a section for books that no one could have written.

      Lies are statements that are purposefully false though, it's not a reality you share when you lie. Imagination and lies are two very different things.

    • @Feber2001
      @Feber2001 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Very deep.
      The very life, at this particular moment, could be a universe merely established by a thought. If a world can be imagined, it can be real...
      We are the authors of a life, that was potentially the creation of a sheer accident, or an intentional consequence of an ambitious mind...such as the one we, as humans, classify as a creator (God?).
      Knowing that numbers are infinite, the notions of 'Time' are a social constructed phenomenon, meant for people to gain control/order of an environment, which we adapted to...And us people, who have the ability to create our own lives through arduous effort, gain experiences; Ones, which can be passed down to future generations, through writing, or making videos, for example.
      Information, that can be valuable to others. In essence, we, as authors, share our reality, with those of similar interests, or thought-patterns...Thus, creating society, or a "world", forged by thought, and multiple individuals, willing to endorse that idea of 'thought'...
      We are creators, as long as we can overlook/overcome limiting belief systems, which may hinder our potential..

    • @Voxdalian
      @Voxdalian 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      If you imagine a world you can't consciously affect anything happening in that world, you create it subconsciously and only serve as an observer. That's very different from what most religions see as a "god".
      You could also say that time is really the only thing that is unlimitedly real, how it is experienced and how fast it goes can change, but it'll always keep going.

    The idea of the godhead seems very metaphysical which leads me to believe the player him/herself is the godhead. It wouldn't be the first time the series has dipped into "fourth-wall-breaking" concepts, so to speak. I actually think that kalpas are based on ragnorök where in norse the realms are destroyed (and sometimes eaten) and in skyrim alduin eats the realms. In both norse and skyrim after these events the world starts on anew and seeing that skyrim has a very norse feel to it this would make sense

      Alduin delayed himself by suddenly deciding to conquer the mortals instead of doing his job and destroying the world. By "killing" Alduin, the Last Dragonborn returned Alduin to his right path, therefore setting up for the day that the two of them fight again at the end of time/the current Kalpa; a fight that Alduin will win this time.

    Supposedly, from what I've read, the Dragon Break from Tiber Septim's conquest of Tamriel will bring an end to the Kalpa, once Numidium returns to Tamriel due to the fluid nature of time in a Dragon Break. This is supposed to happen sometime in the Fifth Era, which could be in the distant future, or it could be very close, if my theory holds true.
    My guess is that the Elder Scrolls VI is going to take place in the Fifth Era, only a couple years to a decade after the events of Skyrim. With Titus Mede II dead, the Altmer take advantage of the chaos of the Skyrim Civil War and invade Cyrodil once again. This time, they are completely successful, and reinstate the enslavement of the Imperials as the Ayleids did to the Nedes, bringing in the Fifth Era, or the Final Dawn. During this time, they take control of all of the Elder Scrolls stored inside White-Gold tower, and uncover the prophecy of Landfall from the Moth Priest slaves, which foresees the destruction of Nirn and the eradication of the Altmer. This sets in motion the main questline of Elder Scrolls VI, where the PC, a prisoner of war from the Second Great War, is tasked by the Aldmeri Dominion's government to stop Landfall from happening, as the PC fits the description of the Last Shezarrine, the N in the Shezarrine Prophecy that spells the last letter of Lorkhan's name, in reference to the "new men" of Masser.

      Remlap Was Taken one thing wrong with this, it is mentioned that at the start of the 4th era all the elder scrolls in the white gold tower were scattered across tamriel (or nirn, cant remember) so they cant really know these prophecies.

    I wonder, what is your opinion on the theory that characters who achieve CHIM or are otherwise enlightened can access gameplay mechanics that aren't otherwise mentioned in the lore (e.g. save/load; the Creation Kit)? I personally subscribe to it simply because I find it so interesting, and there is a lot of evidence for it, especially in Morrowind.

    What if anu and padomay were once mere mortals who achieved chim in the last kalpa and the original spirits were those who did not achive chim but did succeed enough to be given immense power. Talos and vivec might play a serious role in the next kalpa, perhaps as fundemental forces like anu or padomay. Also the high elf who are descended from the aedra. Their ansestors might have existed in the last kalpa, who either one, a select few or many achived godhood. The dragons themselves could have came from a past kalpa.

    I know a while back there was the whole theory about elder scrolls and fallout being in the same universe. That was shut down almost immediately, but Avarti you sparked a good question. What if instead of elder scrolls and fallout being in the same universe, elder scrolls was just a dream state that one of the vault dwellers had during the fallout.
    Note: none of that is probably true, just thought it was an interesting theory at least.

    Alduin conquered the world as a Dragon and was sent ahead in time (and the whole Helgen thing happened)
    But It wasn't time for the Universe to reset yet
    Since Alduin wanted to conquer to world still.
    But now Alduin has become One with Akatosh once again thanks to the Dovahkiin Who has served his purpose
    Now the next time that Alduin will be born he will come back as the World Ends and will do Is job properly.

    According to my understanding Sovngard is on the surface of Aetherius. How much do you want to bet that “the One”, the Towers, Chim, and the Elder Scrolls themselves are all connected? It seems to me that there much be some connection between all these things.
    It is interesting to consider that there may be some reality behind the Elder Scrolls series that is similar to that of the various real world religions. The One is like God, the Elder Scrolls are like the Word of God/the Holy Scriptures, and Chim is like enlightenment, theosis, or ascension to heaven. The towers are harder to say, but I’d say either they are metaphorical representations of mortals ascending to divinity, their connection with the divine, or less likely they are metaphors for centers of religious pilgrimage.

    The godhead, at least how I see it, isn't a person. A better term might be "universal mind". It is the ultimate consciousness of the universe. It and the universe are the same and every soul is a microcosm of this consciousness. Every person is an aspect of the godhead and every action ultimately is the will of the godhead. The godhead fights itself and loves itself. It dreams the dream of the mortal plain because only in such an environment can something change and evolve. It wishes to experience life and lives it through every soul.
    What I'm saying is... Lorkhan did nothing wrong.

Imagine this, having someone able to tap at Lorkan's heart, allowing it to achieve CHIM and bring his whole race to another kalpa. Perhaps they created their own Amaranth, those dreamers created their own realm / universe in which they resides.
    In case you might be wandering, "It'll be cool to have TES set into a next Kalpa were Dwem-"

      That is a good theory, in Morrowind, the remnants of the Dwemer's attempt to create their own god with Kagrenak's tools and the heart of Lorkan would seem to support that theory in a way.
