YES! I love exploring grocery stores when I travel no matter where I am it is so much fun! You never know what you’re going to find to tickle your taste buds ❤
I am working through your wonderful cruise. Can I congratulate you on how well you have produced and edited your journey - each one not too long and not too short. I am so enjoying vacariously living each day with you both. I may have missed it, but have you produced a complete route map. I always have one so that I can get an overview of where I have been and what's coming up.
Im also Catholic and my favorite thing on vacations is visiting the local Catholic Church. I thought that would be my favorite part but seeing the Christmas trees decorated by the schools ❤️❤️❤️ ahh loved that! Great video!
I can't go along with your take on Barbados; it's my favorite island to visit. I'm not a beach nut, but their beaches are amazing. Better IMO than Megans Bay. There's also a fantastic cavern there.
That’s a pretty island the waterfalls are beautiful and to see how the spices are grown that was really nice We always just going to the store and picking it up I never stop to think where it comes from thank you
Circa minute 7:30, I am glad that you had Barbados on your itinerary, but I cannot understand why you would say that it is just a beach. There are over 500 cafes and restaurants in Barbados! There are many variations of geography, of vegetation, of people, of culture, of music, and of accommodation. There are also many different ways to travel and to experience the island: e.g., cycling, walking, private coaches, public buses, train-experience, boats, and the Atlantis Submarine. In Bridgetown alone, within the walking distance that you rightly cited (and should be emphasised as a major advantage in Barbados, being a safe and welcoming destination right around the port and beyond it,) there are many stores, shops, malls, historical monuments, Jewish synagogue and cemetery, several parks, including the huge Queen's Park.....You have barely scratched the surface of what Barbados has to offer and why many other persons have been officially recognised in the Over 25 Visits club and the Over 50 Visits club......By the way, Barbados is also the location for the Canadian High Commission and the U.S. Embassy, which then serve the entire Eastern Caribbean....many good reasons that they chose Barbados.....stable currency vis-a-vis the U.S.$....one of the oldest Parliaments in the world....centuries of relationships with Britain, Canada and the U.S.A. (from which 3 countries most visitors to Barbados arrive up to modern times)....I do hope that you will do a lot more research and start to realise how much you all missed knowing, tasting, seeing, doing, and experiencing in Barbados!
We agree 100%, what we're doing is really the sampler platter. Many places we go as you said we can only scratch the surface and admittedly are influenced by first impressions. Really appreciate all the input in your comment. Thanks
11:24 In Australia we call that the Rosella bush. It’s also called a Native hibiscus. We pick the flowers, take out the seeds and boil with sugar to make Rosella jam. You can also steep the flowers in syrup to make cordial which you can then add to champagne, or sparkling water for a nice cocktail.
I think your both great, I really enjoy watching your amazing journey! Keep up the good work but most importantly keep living your lives to the max. What an amazing experience 😊
Enjoying your thorough and well paced videos. I especially liked your room tour of your storage strategy. I’m curious how you budgeted for excursions, guide tips, souvenirs and misc expenses. How are you accessing cash as needed? How are you getting mail and connecting with family?
We paid for our excursions in advance. We planned an extra $10-$20 a day in miscellaneous. We have a house sitter who gets our mail and our daughter lives just a few minutes away so she picks up anything of importance. All our bills are automatically withdrawn From our account. thank you so much for watching.
You two are just wonderful 👍👍👍 I'm drinking my coffee at 5:31am on Presidents Day, getting ready to head out to work at the hospital and just for a moment I'm imagining having breakfast with the two of you and sharing adventures!!👏👏👏 It's so wonderful to dream and your dreams are coming thru!!! Thank you for sharing all this beauty!❤️
Oh my goodness, I'm five minutes into the video, and I'm asking myself if I've pressed the like button. Great information. My husband and I love to go to local supermarkets 😍.
Life goals! My oldest just turned 18 and I have 4 more after him. This is inspiring to me and I figure if we save for the next 15 years we can follow in your footsteps! Thank you so much for sharing your journey.
Wow - I loved this vid. I am a hobby cook and would have LOVED the spice garden tour - holy moly! Thank you for sharing these wonderful videos. I also loved the slo-mo of the cliff jumper - how amazing. I hope he gets to see his jump. Thanks again. I'm so excited to see more of your experiences!
What nice gifts for your friends! They can eat the goodies and not clutter up their cabins! Once again, it was nice having you chatting away to us in our living room! I want to visit Granada now.
All the best you two… Enjoy it and keep the great videos coming! I love to see the random snippets of you with your friend group as well. Great friends make the travel experience so much more worth it. Cheers from Newfoundland Canada! 🍻
You seem to be doing some great excursions in each port. Can you do a video on how you budgeted for all these trips? It must be a big cost which is above the cost of the cruise. My husband and I are loving your videos.
Since we've been planning this over the last 2 years we've been planning excursions along with it and paying for them over a 2-year period. So I guess you're correct it was quite an additional expense but we were able to spread out the payments so to speak
Thank you so much for this lovely video. I spent many vacations as a child on the island of Barbados with my parents and even attended school there for the day. I’m in my mid fifties now so obviously a lot of time has passed but just seeing some of my favorite spots especially the grocery store was really wonderful. I’ve also travelled to Grenada just once in the early 1990s. Your footage there was also very meaningful. I purchased a small basket of spices there on my honeymoon. Thanks again for sharing. My husband and I love to cruise too but the longest we’ve been is 10 days last October on Celebrity to the ABC islands. I really enjoyed your videos on those islands too. Well, I’ll be definitely tuning in for more. Thanks again, Jocelyn O. Cleveland, Ohio
I find your trip fascinating. We cruise but I cannot imagine living in a ship for a long period. There are many interesting places to see in Barbados one if which is the orchid garden and the rum tours in old plantations. Also the island is so diverse and pretty. Especially love seeing the turtles too. Grenada is also a favorite. The islands, history and the cultures are our interests. Thank you so much for sharing. I sort of feel that we are experiencing this with you. Nancy is a gracious lady and is looking tan and relaxed..
We were in Split, Croatia recently on a cruise and made sure to stop in a grocery store. It is always on our list to visit one wherever we are! I"m really enjoying your trip along with you, you are both great storytellers. Allow me one request, please! Can you talk about the food more, even maybe throw in a photo or two? Thanks again for all your hard work, and I can't wait to see what comes next!
We always go to grocery stores too. We like to see the proteins (meats) the locals eat as well as the different brands. Got some vegemite in Australia. Your videos are terrific. Thank you.
We also really enjoyed Grenada, have a fun cashew nut story to tell, still have the cashew pod. Yes we visit the local grocery stores also, the wife always say we travel on our stomach's. Really enjoying your travel. Keep those videos coming.
Love your videos. Spent half my day watching this series. Dee from ParoDeeJay got hypnotized on a cruise ship. To this day she says she can't remember it.
I also like to go to grocery stores to see how much things really cost😊 Really enjoying watching you both. Binge watching to catch up with where in the world you are 🤣😆❤
Hi Nancy and Mike what a wonderful videos. Enjoying them. I love visiting grocery stores as well. I will be joining your cruise in July out of Barcelona hope to meet you both. Enjoy and be safe.
G'day from the land down under. I've recently found your videos and I love what both of you are doing. I'm in envy that you're doing this world cruise on RCI. Arr first cruise was with RCI and after having a bad experience with Princess Cruises, we've decided to stay loyal to royal. I really like the way you have described your days adventure. Very informative. It's a pity when you arrive in Australia that SOTS isn't doing the southern part of Australia, would of loved to show the both of you my home town of Adelaide. However you'll love the great barrier reef and the northern part of Australia. I'm sure Mike will love to dive in the barrier reef. Please keep up these videos. I'm really enjoying them😊
I know exactly what you mean about the rum in the Dominican Republic! They wouldn’t stop asking me to try it so I finally did and yes that stuff was rough!
I was on the first cruise to return to Grenada after Ivan. Tours weren’t open…but the vendors were desperate for the return…so you just walked around a bit and and bought a few things here and there.
I'm enjoying your videos but also disagree with your comments on Barbados. I had the honor and pleasure of living there for three years. There are gorgeous beaches and fantastic diving and snorkeling. But there is also the George Washington House - where Washington lived for 6 weeks, The Garrison - A UNESCO World Heritage site, the Animal Flower Cave on the Northern point of the island with sea anemones and a fabulous view, And timed a Gardens with gorgeous plants and views, Welchman Hall Gulley - an interesting walk through a bullet with native plants, including Nutmeg trees, Arlington House Museum which covers the history of slavery and Speightstown, Kensington Oval - the home of Windies cricket, Harrison's Caves, Hunters Gardens, the Niche Israel Synagogue - one of the oldest in the hemisphere, and multiple churches, rum distilleries, a number of plantations, a tourist train, lots of restaurants, and some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. I also love Grenada and it's people and think anyone could easily spend a week or more in each place without spending much time on the beach.
Oh my goodness, you make Barbados sound wonderful. You should be our guide next time! I’m sure there are many beautiful places and things to see there that we just have not gotten to do yet.
Enjoying watching your channel! We are new to cruising and have a question, What travel medical insurance do you recommend? We are cruising in August to Alaska.
Can't really recommend a particular travel insurance company. However, take a look at Steve at tripinsurancestore.com he's not a sponsor anything, but a lot of people used him and we're very happy.
Can't really recommend a particular company. But look up Steve at the trip insurance store. A lot of people on this trip used him and were very happy. Here's a link. tripinsurancestore.com/
Forgive me if you have already done this. I’m new to your channel but can you post a map of the route you will be taking on the world tour? Or post the link to the video if you already posted it
We found the locals in Grenada were very intrusive in trying to get you to buy their wares. To the point that I tried to pretend I was sleeping on the beach but they would just come up and tap you on the shoulder. This was over 10 years ago so I’m curious to know if you experienced any of that. Also, you failed to mention if you would go back there. I love to hear your opinions on this!
They fly the entertainers in to the nearest port, where they are going to perform and then they’re on the ship for just a few days the cruise line, then flies them back home from the next port, or flies them to the next ship, if they’re performing on another cruise.
Only 11 are included the rest we pay for period And since we've been planning it for two years we've been able to spread out the cost of those for 2 years
I also love to explore grocery stores when visiting other countries. Very interesting.
It really is!
I like to do the same anywhere I go.
Yes me too.
Ditto! A grocery store in China tops all others I’ve visited.
YES! I love exploring grocery stores when I travel no matter where I am it is so much fun! You never know what you’re going to find to tickle your taste buds ❤
Definitely!!
I am working through your wonderful cruise. Can I congratulate you on how well you have produced and edited your journey - each one not too long and not too short. I always have one so that I can get an overview of where I have been and what's coming up.
Thanks so much for your kind words, and thank you for following along on our journey.
You didn't answer my question regarding the availability of a map showing your journey. Is there one I can download?
My late husband and I would have loved doing this! We were huge cruise fans. I am enjoying traveling "with you"!
Thanks for sharing that. Glad you can come with us.
So wonderful to see that Grenada recovered! We were on a RC cruise not long after Ivan it was so difficult being there as the locals were devastated
We really did enjoy our time there and it is very beautiful
Im also Catholic and my favorite thing on vacations is visiting the local Catholic Church. I thought that would be my favorite part but seeing the Christmas trees decorated by the schools ❤️❤️❤️ ahh loved that! Great video!
I can't go along with your take on Barbados; it's my favorite island to visit. I'm not a beach nut, but their beaches are amazing. Better IMO than Megans Bay. There's also a fantastic cavern there.
Thanks for sharing! It is so hard to get details I. Only a day. We can just sample and see if it catches our attention enough to return.
That’s a pretty island the waterfalls are beautiful and to see how the spices are grown that was really nice We always just going to the store and picking it up I never stop to think where it comes from thank you
We thought the same thing, it was great seeing all the different plants and trees were spices come from. We really did enjoy it.
I’m glad someone else likes to go to the local grocery stores. Thanks for letting me cruise with you. Stay safe.
Always!
I like that you are relaxing and releasing videos on a slower pace. Enjoy your journey.
Thank you! 😊

I love Barbados and Grenada. Beautiful beaches and cultures I would have spent the day on the beach in the ocean.
Shame you didn’t really experience Barbados at all! Had a home there for more than 25 years. You didn’t get the vibe at all :)

I think sea days have always been my favorite.
I enjoy your videos and am glad you steer clear of the hpye some have stirred up.
Glad you like them! Just the facts! 🤣🤣🤣
I love going to the local grocery store too. Great video series
Thanks for watching!
I think your both great, I really enjoy watching your amazing journey! Keep up the good work but most importantly keep living your lives to the max. What an amazing experience 😊
Thank you! Will do!
Love the grocery store visits. Trying the local foods is memorable.

I have taken that private tour of Barbados. Wonderful views
We went to barbados and went to a cave. Very pretty nice tour.
Thank you for sharing. We will do something different the next time.
Life goals! My oldest just turned 18 and I have 4 more after him. This is inspiring to me and I figure if we save for the next 15 years we can follow in your footsteps! Thank you so much for sharing your journey.
That is awesome!
Hope you don't mind me saying that I think Nancy is a beautiful lady. Such a winning smile and positive expression.
I think so as well -Mike

I found you guys accidentally. Thanks for your great comments about Grenada my home. I will keep watching your adventures.

Thank you. We appreciate hearing the feedback on things like this we try to remember to always say if we’d like to go back or not.
I love the style of your videos with you discussing what you did❣️

Just came across your channel. Instant follow! Hello from California! Loving your videos. What an amazing cruise to be on!
Thanks so much!!
Happy to hear that you had a positive experience in my little Grenada. The Sorrel drink is my favourite we add spices to it too, hope you enjoy it.
We bought some sorrel syrup there and have been getting club, sodas at the bar and putting it in the club soda. Delicious!
Looks amazing! Enjoy the warm weather we are getting the first real snow here in your home state.
Yes we heard, that there's a blizzard tonight
Great video of the falls!
Thanks!
I was on the first cruise to return to Grenada after Ivan. Tours weren’t open…but the vendors were desperate for the return…so you just walked around a bit and and bought a few things here and there.
It has recovered very well.
Another great video!
Thanks so much
Thanks for the great video.
Our pleasure!
Thanks
You are such a lovely couple. Watching your videos from WV
Thanks so much! 😊
Very cool to see. I would love to see a full ship tour at some point!
Ha. I just asked the same thing.
I thought I might have missed it.
Coming soon!
Ivan was 2004 Our house 13:50 was destroyed in Milton Florida.
Oh, we are so sorry. That is terrible thing to have to go through.
Would love to see each of the meals you’ve had
We try to include some video for many of our meals. We've had we've had that request several times and will be sure to show some of the meals
didn't know grenada was the spice capital!

Here I thought I was the only one who visits locals grocery stores lol…..

Did you guys do a tour of your ship?
I'm really enjoying your videos.
It's upcoming. Thanks
Have you met Jack & Sheila? She has long blond hair and he has a ponytail. I met them on an Oceania world cruise in 2022.
Sure have, in fact there are next door neighbors. He's an awesome trumpet player

Forgive me if you have already done this. I’m new to your channel but can you post a map of the route you will be taking on the world tour? Or post the link to the video if you already posted it
We haven’t really posted this however, if you go to royalcaribbean.com or Google Royal Caribbean world Cruise itinerary, it will show you the route.
Nothing like that and yes this is one we where we would love to return!
Did you buy some chips at grocery? When we went to Greenland there were no chips to buy onboard, many of our fellow travelers purchased them!
No, just some wine🤣🤣🤣
You mentioned that you did laundry. Did you do it yourself in your cabin or did the ship open a space for this to occur?
The ship has three laundry rooms on board for the full world passengers to use. I still wash some of my delicates in our sink in the cabin.
Hi does the talent stay on the ship or do they board for a couple of day ?
They come and go.
Do the entertainers live on the ship for all 9 months? If not, how do they get home?
They fly the entertainers in to the nearest port, where they are going to perform and then they’re on the ship for just a few days the cruise line, then flies them back home from the next port, or flies them to the next ship, if they’re performing on another cruise.
When did u start this cruise
December 8th in Miami and the cruise actually left on the 10th of December. We will return to Miami September 9th 2025.
Do you have the same table mates the entire cruise?
We can sit with anyone but we have a core group of friends we usually sit with
Where are you guys from? seems ive seen you before
Grand Rapids michigan, but we both grew up in Kansas
What do you have to do to pay for things? Do you have to exchange cash on each island or do most of the vendors and such take credit cards?
Most take USD or CC
Are your excursions free since the cruise costs so much?
Only 11 are included the rest we pay for period And since we've been planning it for two years we've been able to spread out the cost of those for 2 years
How many children are are the full world cruise?
It’s either 22 or 26 children on the full world cruise that is ages 2 to 16.
Wow. Lucky kids!@@livingphase2
Isn't it a bit late for Christmas trees?
They stopped in Barbados on 20th December
@@kimtrotman5104 nope
Was recorded earlier takes a bit to get them edited and released 😃
Can you give me a clue as to the main age group on the cruise ? Thankyou !
