I know this video is from 2015 and it's now 2022, but damn Richard you really sold the Guitar and the Vox AC15 C1 here. One of the most enticing demos I've seen.
Me too, I love my Tribute. I bought it weeks after buying a PRS S2 and my PRS sits in its gig bag as my Tribute gets played daily. For the price of the Tribute and PRS I could have gotten a custom shop Fallout. Kind of having buyers remorse now.
I'm a huge G&L fanboy. I own 6 electrics, all of which are G&Ls, dating back to my first which is an '81 F-100 to a '17 Doheny. That said, the Fallout misses me. That is, until I saw this video. I may have to build a custom one now. That binding is sweet.
Great demo guys. I love this beautiful guitar, those tones are really gorgeous and so usable. Ahhh so many amazing to guitars to want (err need!) these days...but as a full time musician...soooo little cash!! Where did I put that lotto ticket?!
im 28, very stoned and just ordered this guitar. ( or the tribute version rather, as it still has american pickups.) Can play the metal and clean stuff. what's not to love?
These Fallouts are amazingly versatile and are one of the best sounding guitars I have ever played. The one I played wasnt nearly as nice as this one either. If I could buy this exact guitar I would. The only thing holding me back is the look of it. The ones I have seen didn't have binding or a trem and look very plain and scream beginner guitar. The binding makes it look a lot nicer and I think it would benefit from a chrome covered humbucker in the bridge. I wish G&L would dress it up more because this guitar could easily be their trademark guitar. The Legacys, S500s and ASATs are all great guitars and better than strats and tales but even though they are all created by the same guy, Fender will always be the leader in the market for strats and teles. This is similar to a Mustang shape but it is definitely not a Mustang. The bridge humbucker and mahogany body makes it sound similar to a SG, coil split it sounds like a Telecaster and coil split middle position sounds like a strat with a more balanced tone. I LOVE THIS GUITAR!!
USA Custom Shop. I bought a Tribute because I saw it as a very simple guitar and didn't want to pay north of $1000 for a simple guitar. I have changed my views now and see it as a versatile go to guitar perfect for everything I do. I have been in the market for a Jazzmaster but I think I will price out a custom build and maybe get a USA Custom Fallout instead. If my Tribute had a trem I would just upgrade the pickups, electronics and switch and maybe add locking tuners. I already swapped the jack out for a switchcraft, added a graph tech string tree and changed the nut to a bone nut. The hardtail bridge is the fanciest I have ever seen and this thing sustains for days but I love G&Ls dual fulcrum trem. I have it on my S500 Tribute and it's the most responsive and sturdy term I have ever used. I added a Graph tech but, locking tuners and Graph Tech string tree to my S500 and the guitar never goes out of tune when I use the trem. Much better than my strat.
There is a noticeable difference between the 2 but the Tribute version is a damn good guitar and can be found for peanuts. I bought mine for $349 new, (it was an older model that never sold) on Reverb. Mine is a little warmer, the G&L Humbucker is pretty great and definitely the best stock humbucker I've had in an import guitar. The neck is amazing but it has a gloss finish. The gloss feels more like nitrocellulose lacquer than polyurethane so it's not sticky at all. The USA has a satin finish neck. The neck profile is almost a D, the USA is more of a modern C. The Tributes are made of Mahogany and USA is made of Alder. This is one area that I prefer on the Tribute. The pickups are voiced very bright and the Mahogany body balances is out better imo. My Tribute has a rosewood fretboard but newer Tributes have maple. I have a hardtail bridge that is super nice, its locking and provides plenty of sustain. The USA has a dual fulcrum tremolo. The USA has a bone nut the Tribute is plastic. The only immediate upgrade I would get in the Tribute is the string tree, it's really cheap and for 13 bucks you can get a set of graph tech string trees that are much nicer. I would also recommend upgrading the output jack, mine started to give me problems fast and when I tried to bend it gently back into place it snapped. A switchcraft jack is under $5 and it's easy to change. I may do more upgrades but I might just buy a Custom Shop one so in that case I would leave this one as is.
It's a fair cop! Trying not to bluster in front of the camera (I find it easier to play than talk...) Don't know why it's so common here though - will try not to trip up on that one again 👍🏻
+wikichris People said the same thing about Strats, Teles, and Les Pauls back in the '50s. Things don't become "traditional" over night. I for one find G&L SC series shape rather attractive.
People lapped them up? Les Pauls got dropped all through the 60's cause no one would buy them. And Teles and Strats, there was no competition then and rock and roll was exploding. People buy guitars to impress other people when they are inexperienced. They find out from mags and the internet and salespeople what is hot and that is what they buy. Likely a Strat or LP just like everyone else has. Maybe a PRS. All the G&L models play fantastic and are usually great bargains especially used.

Amazing sound and playing! I have the import model of the Fallout, it sounds spectacular as well.
Pete and The Who would be proud! What an incredible sound and it inspired me to buy a USA Fallout. Nice job Sir!!
I keep coming back to this video over and over.
tiki torch I know what you mean! So do I!

Wow, finally some G&L love from across the pond.

Those swells were glorious, and the neck pickup at the end...sublime
great production and playing
Really good demo! Great playing, tones and production. Great job. Loved the track at the end.
Have been waiting for a good demo of those pickups! Nailed it! Thanks!
I enjoyed this presentation and listening to the guitar.
Great tones, and nice playing!
I discovered G&l a few years ago and now have two… I see a third in my future soon.
Love the neck pickup at the end.
That one is gorgeous. I've just recently bought one of these and I'm a huge fan. It's a brilliant guitar. I love it!
US or tribute?
That P90 just sings
someday i'll have this guitar. nice playing!
That was great. Super demo and great sounding guitar. G&L guitars are so undiscovered.
wow, this very one looks really great!!
Just when I thought I had bought all the guitars I needed, here comes the G and L Fallout...:/
Thanks again and hello from our new channel! 🙏 #Falloutguitar #glguitars
Rather awesome guitar, I am wondering if the tribute version can sound this great with a SD pickup in the bridge.
What are your settings on the amp and pedals at 3:33? Great sound ! Actually outstanding!
Sounded fantastic. Dang. If only for a sudden winfall, that guitar sold me.

This video has gotten me through the last 2 months while i wait to be able to plug my custom Fallout into my own AC15.
How you liking it? I'm thinkin of getting one.
The kind of guitar that old bluesman and stoned 20somethings drool over
Hell yeah bruther
Right here! -- the former (waving hand)
ill have you know I am NOT stoned
im 28, very stoned and just ordered this guitar. ( or the tribute version rather, as it still has american pickups.) Can play the metal and clean stuff. what's not to love?
@@12ozMousee it's a beast of a guitar. What colour is yours?
Looks great and sounds great !!! Really liked the review and demo
Richard Barrett ... The tasty player from old Guitar Techniques mags?
love Richards reviews, great ,give my left bollack to play like him !
SOLD!!!!
Amazing sounds
Was the track at the end inspired by Quadrophenia?
indeed - I think you had it right there, with the P90 blending in at the end... gorgeous sound
great playing!
A damn fine demo ! Thank you
This demo it's awesome!

Sounds GREAT!!!
Nice guitar and playing.
I cant find yours, which has a whammy bar. Anyone any suggestions?
+annemarie teesink It's an option when you order a USA model as a custom build
USA Custom Shop. I bought a Tribute because I saw it as a very simple guitar and didn't want to pay north of $1000 for a simple guitar. Great playing!!
Sweet!
I wish the top cutout was the same as the bottom cutout
Agree it work really well as a double cut. Would also look good.
Whoa... it went LesPaul... to Strat... to Tele... to 335!? Wild
Is there a major difference between this and the Tribute Fallout?

What kind of music style i can play on this guitar?
Any of them! It has all the same notes other guitars have.
I see this guitar has the power chord sound nailed..
signature?
Yeah!
Of course, he is actually talking about a coil split switch. I do not understand why that mistake is so common in the UK.
It's a fair cop! Trying not to bluster in front of the camera (I find it easier to play than talk...) Don't know why it's so common here though - will try not to trip up on that one again 👍🏻
Hello teacher!!! :D
g&l doesn't make either of those pickups iirc.
I think at some point in this video, the dude got up and left and Pete Townshend came in and finished the demo.
Nice playing. Nice sound. Are people actually interested in these wacky non-traditional shapes made by these brands? I am amazed anyone buys them.
+wikichris It's based on Leo Fender's 1983 SC2 design, I think that's traditional by now.
+Gavin Morris Based on yes, but that's about it.
+wikichris People said the same thing about Strats, Teles, and Les Pauls back in the '50s. Things don't become "traditional" over night. I for one find G&L SC series shape rather attractive.

If only the standard wasn't $500.
don't make me nasty dontja =)
brilliant .....i think this guy likes the who
Awful demo, tons of compression, horrible canned backing track, just worthless. We want to hear the guitar raw, and clean on a tube amp. that's all.
Damn fine demo
