    Now that is how you demo a guitar.

    I own a G&L Comanche and it is almost indescribable what it can do. PUP selection with the toggle and these things drip tone. It is Balanced not only in what it can do but also how it feels. As a guitarist your sound will come through your hands. The G&L Comanche continually inspires me because it sounds so good even when I am ass-handed, meat-fisted and over under sideways down too hard on myself. It offers expression to the meanest or the most dear. Worth every cent!!! Perfect saddles. I had a very experienced tech tell me that this thing is like a super-strat on steroids. It is not so much a super-strat as it is the next step in design and functionality. Maybe it's just me but I feel like the thing was made for me .. Leo Made This for us all. You gotta hear how the pots make the pups change and evolve.

      I can hear from this video that it covers a wide range of tonal territory and pup combinations noise free, no doubt.

      I have it in black with matching headstock. It's perfect as is. The disappointment of not modding anything (for some). The z coil would be awesome on a les paul type, or anything typically employing an HH setup.. just cover the pickups with rectangular metal caps so no one is turned away by the small aesthetic difference. These pickups are extraordinary. It's only guitar players' reticence to change that keeps the Comanche in a niche area, probably similar to the ASAT special with jumbo MFDs.

    Great job - and all 100% accurate! They are absolutely fantastic guitars. I've got two Fullertons, ASAT Classic Deluxe, and a Legacy HSS that I got it in a partial trade. I have so many Strats that I was hesitant about having another, albeit a G&L, but boy am I ever happy with it! The MFDs in the ASAT are otherworldly. How he managed to get so much punch, while keeping the chime, clarity, and character is a massive achievement.

    So Leo Fender created the Telecaster, Stratocaster, Jazzmaster, Jaguar and more for the Fender line up. Always at the time researching and testing and trying to improve playability and tone.
    After he sold FMIC and went on his own, he formed G&L with his partner George (George & Leo = G&L) and he was set free, to then implement, all of his new innovations. And boy, Oh boy, did he.
    The Comanche is the culmination of his genius. With the dual fulcrum tremolo, the PTB tone system and the "coup de grace", being the Z-coil pick ups he really outdid himself in creating the most versatile and reliable guitar he ever designed.
    I have the Comanche and it's really become a damn shame, how little I play my other 3 guitars.

    The pole pieces in these MFD pups can be ajusted in height to make the louder or more quiet adding even more versatility.

    Great demo, and playing. I think I am going to be on the lookout for one of these. Got a lot of great guitars already (including a couple great USA G&L ASATs), but this one is very versatile and can cover a wide range of tones noise free, for sure. Like these clean demos better, bravo. It is telling that Glen Campbell's last main axe was a blue Comanche.

    Dave reminds me so much of economist and Amherst professor Richard Wolff. Not only do they have a strong physical resemblance to one another, but also their speech pattern, delivery, and cadence of their voices. They could pass as brothers. Weird. Besides that, great video.

    : 1:10 but you were earthing the strings no? Earthing/muting strings by skin contact is another essential way to reduce pickup hiss on a strat-like guitar.

    • @johnmccormick8159

      They've got 9 different profiles available as listed on their web site. Look for " G&L Custom Shop guitar options".

    • @Robstafarian
      @Robstafarian 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @ozzie houser Though I am tempted to paraphrase Shakespeare, suffice it to say that G&L's variety of neck profiles leaves much to be desired.
