- In this tutorial i made a Bird Cage From Recycled Materials for my youngest daughter wants to have a love birds as her pet. Not only i save money from this but also i love the outcome. This is so beautiful and easy to make. My daughter love it too! When my eldest son came he thought i bought the bird cage from store. He was amazed. Are very bad this circle
+Mascotas, cocina y manualidades There are comments saying that circle cage is bad cage for birds. I don't delete their comment so that viewers can decide and search in google if that is true. You are free to search and decide. I was inspired with the cage of Tweety Bird (a cartoon character) that's why i made a circle cage out of recycled materials. I like how you used materials around you! I do recommend having corners since when cages are round the birds tend to feel trapped as there's no corner to hide in. I hope saying something like that gives you more info than just saying, "ROUND CAGES ARE BAD". When birds tend to get scared or nervous they tend to go into a corner cause it's a small space that makes them feel secluded and safe. When they're in a rounder cage with no corners it makes it impossible to do so. the main reason why people stay away from round cages, not just because of no corners. If you look closely, most round cages, the bars get thinner and close together as they come to a point. This makes it very easy for a bird to get their toes stuck in which can only injure a bird. What I recommend to have corners is that you could still use mesh wire, but security screw the mesh onto wood, using the wood almost as a guide for making a cube frame! Otherwise, make sure to add toys to keep your birds happy and active! ^^

Round cages are detrimental to a birds mental health. Square cages only. Please don't put them in a round cage.

Can add a small birdhouse somewhere inside, u got plenty of room, they sell those at dollar store, this way bird will have somewhere to hide even in a round cage.

Thays a bad idea having huts or little bird hojses insode or even putting a cover over their cage can make them hormonal and want to breed and if they cant they can get very fraustrated and agressive. Also this cage is not appropraite for any bird as it had no corners and is just to small. It better to have a wider cage than tall. The smalled a cage should be is 24 inches wide and thats for just 1 budgie. Also they need toys for chewing, foraging and enrichment and diffeent sizes and thickeness of natural wood perches or they will get arthritis and bumble foot. A quick google search can tell you all this. But yea dediniteky not suitable for two love birds. I hope this isnt their only cage.

Not very big for those birds. I hope they get play time outside of this small cage. It's good to have different size perches too so they can exercise their feet.
this is big enough they d9nt need that big just let them fly aroud your place some time to time with supervision

Good job! 👍 I'm not a pet bird person so I didn't know round cages were bad for birds until I read some of the comments. Some wild birds live in hollowed out trees and I've yet to see a square tree!🤣 As for the comments about birds not flying vertical in a round cage, I don't think it would be different in a same size square cage. If they're in a small cage, no matter what shape, they're not going to be able to fly freely. LOL! This was a pretty cool project because you could actually customize the height of the cage by getting taller fence wire and you could probably use it for something besides birds or to temporarily contain a pet bird while their square cage is being cleaned. I suppose for anyone who wants a DIY square cage could use an old box fan. 🤔 Anyway, I thought it was a clever use of junk items that would otherwise end up in a landfill. Anything to help save our earth can't be all bad. 😃 I also like Tweety Bird! 😊 Thanks for sharing!👍

In fact, my comment started off with my saying "I'm not a bird person"... but you don't know me nor do you have any idea what I know or don't know. Admittedly, I do not know a whole lot about PET birds; HOWEVER, I do observe and study birds in the wild and I have 20-30 different varieties that come to my feeders and live in my trees. As I stated in my original comment, birds inside any kind of cage are not able to fly free and one doesn't have to be an ornithologist to know that!

Please do NOT make this cage for a bird, it’s terrible and small and it’ll lead to your bird not having any freedom and plucking. If you care about to safety and well-being of your bird, do not make such a small cage.
That wire mesh is usually zinc coated which is toxic to birds when they climb on the cage using their beaks. They also might end up chewing the cable ties that hold the cage together. I would also cut the sharp pieces of wire off instead of folding them down. Sorry to critisise.

@@chrisBcheA27 Please change that cage. They may look well to you but they need a way bigger cage. For 2 budgies the size recommended is 39x20x32 I'm pretty sure, so please make a cage with those measurements.

Just so everyone knows a huge roung cage is ok mines 89" inches by 96" inches tall. He's been living there for 23 years.

It's really not. It's not the size, it's the lack of corners, do some research.
No matter how big , the roundness makes them feel trapped , just because he has lived in there for 23 odd years , doesn’t mean he isn’t happy
No matter how big a round cage is it still has no corners for the bird to hide in when they’re scared, and round cages also make the birds feel more trapped

It's not about the cage being round that's bad, it's because most round cages are small. Small cages shouldn't be used for any bird. Some people think they get confused where their going like come on their parrots their super intelligent creatures their not dumb! I don't suggest making this cage because it's so small for any bird and you can't even fit a bird toys in there which they need.

Getting finches soon. I thought round cages make them (most if not all small birds) stir crazy. Maybe turn it on it's side, add a little support and droppings tray and it can be a travel cage for when you go out of town and want to bring your bird with you?
It really looks like a great flight cage on its side. Some wooden dowels to stabilize?

Just a tip for ALL BIRD OWNERS. NEVER. PUT. YOUR. BIRD. IN. A CIRCULAR. CAGE. They feel unsafe and may die of illness, depression, and many other things. THEY NEED CORNERS! Budgies need wide cages with a little bit of height. They don't fly upwards so having a longer cage is better. If your birds fly upwards, I recommend height. So research the way your birds fly. I do not support circular cages because of how it effects your birds mental health.

+maghna habib Hi! This cage is not for hen, this is for small birds only like Love birds or budgies. Anyways in this cage I used 18 inches front and rear grill of electric fan. The height of the screen wire I used is 20 inches and the roll width is 58 inches, including the foldings on both sides. Thanks for asking and watching my video. Enjoy recycling!
