I recently started using A-Team Ultrasonic Carburetor Cleaning Solution, mix at a ratio of 1 part solution to 8 parts water as they recommend and really does a pretty decent job,at that ratio with the gallon you make 9 gallons. This product is made in the USA.I got it at Amazon and the price is $34.99 .Just helping anyone with a low budget like me.Thannks for your videos.
What a great coincidence this video gets uploaded. I just cleaned a carb rack with this product and had them come out looking brand new 👌. Next rack I do, I will use my ultrasonic
I use the simple green HD cut down with water in my ultrasonic for my aluminum compressor wheels for turbochargers. The HD doesn't turn the aluminum that natsy dark color like most cleaners.
What ratio of water and simple green are you using? I'm also using simple green. Experimenting in dilution ratio started at ten to one. Worked well on dirt and grime. At nine to one removed some corrosion. Next mix will do 7 to one.
Could that be an anti-corrosion coating that you're removing from the carburetor? I have heard on small engine carburetors they use such a coating on the aluminum parts and the float bowl.
Wow Brian, very nice and clean, iv'e used Chem Dip in the past but never heated it up, that really seems to be the ticket, thanks for sharing, have a great weekend buddy😁😁
Oh thank you! Yeah I didn’t know the difference, I was wondering if this was related to sticy film of the solvent based that I would get on my carbs, I would have to do another cycle w simple green after , the chem dip is best forsure it comes to removing that worst case old laquer deep within the carb. Thank you!
Last trip I made to Canada was 2018 and you all have some crazy weak cleaners up there. We complain about the US government but you guys have things way harder than we do!
@@DesertRatFabrication the who? 😆 The AVS2 is a great carburetor. Very easy to tune. Great throttle response. It was almost instantly Edelbrock’s number one selling carb.

Chem dip is a great product and works extremely well. Just on the expensive side cod used in an ultrasonic cleaner.

Yeah that little extra addition of heat really helps it’s effectiveness. Good stuff, just wildly expensive.
Great video Brian! Very informative! Thanks for sharing!👍🏽
@@GodandGears thanks much!
Is that film a clear coat from manufacturing used to seal and protect the aluminum?
That coating is part of the casting. This is some clear that was sprayed on by someone else.
Lol most carburetors have a clear coat/lacquer finish from factory. You can reseal just before its reassembled.

Yep that is pretty costly.
Too rich for me!
I've never seen that film before. It didn't "frost" it, so I doubt it cooked the factory coating. It sure tore into that zinc coating though.
Zinc was already very trashed. Nothing was going to make it look well again. The video shows what the main body finish looked like.
Thanks for the information brother!
You’re very welcome!
I use TSC's high flash point solvent.
Never tried it. I’ll add it to my list to give it a go sometime.
I can't even get that in Canada parts store don't even know what it is bin so long

Yeah but we do what we can lol
@@andrewforster4974 I'd be willing to bet that Red Green could come up with a viable solution 😁.
Hey Brian what do you think about the AVS 2.1
@@DesertRatFabrication the who? 😆 The AVS2 is a great carburetor. Very easy to tune. Great throttle response. It was almost instantly Edelbrock’s number one selling carb.
@@MuscleCarSolutions oh ok, someone sent me the text AVS2.1, ok I will look into it, thanks
@@DesertRatFabrication nope. It’s just an AVS2. No changes to it but it’s a great carburetor for sure!
What if we use baking soda with the ultrasonic cleaner
@@hichemilkay2448 don’t know! Never tried it.
@@MuscleCarSolutions can you try it to see if the result good and nothing bad going to happen
@@hichemilkay2448 if I ever do another ultrasonic cleaner test I’ll consider it.
Is that skin some type of clear coating?
Yes sir. That’s exactly what it was!
I need your help rebuild my old holley carb 😅
They’re really very simple. Lots of good videos here and on TH-cam on how to build them. If you have basic mechanical skills, it will be very easy.
i use chemdip right out of the can. works awesome
Yup! Works well!
Looking for the LIVE stream, today?, what time , catch you later Bone😁😁
Nope no live stream. Just a regular video. Hope you’re staying cool over there! 👍
Maybe this would fix the AVS2 lol
This video is missing the instructions for how to set up a proper fuel system and fuel pressure for the ultrasonic cleaner :(
Uh…yeah.
👍
Simple Green 🎤
The results are pretty decent if you crank the heat up.
