I have to warn you about this addiction... I started off just want one type of each eg:- overdrive, distortion, reverb, chorus etc...
Now I have over 120 pedals and I still want more MORE !!!! At least it's an addiction that keeps on giving.. LOL !
Scotty D Dang I thought I was bad at about 35. All my friends tease me "Goin on EBay pedal shopping". Gotta watch that G A S ! Gear Acquisition Syndrome -for the rookies. Only have 13 on my board but elect outs for a total of 16 and a tap tempo. Addicted. Need help.
Scotty D Lol, can I have some?! I have 0 ;(
I've been playing for two years and even bought a mxr custom overdrive but I really didn't know anything about pedals thanks!!!!!!!!!
What a brilliant perfect and spot on vid man, WELL put together, love how you put the lil demos in too, makes such sense, thank you so much!💯💥😃👍
This video is awesome. I've been playing with a Digitech RP1000 for many years and while that pedal served me well, I've never been 100% happy with the tones I've gotten out of it, so now I'm looking at building a pedalboard from scratch. I watched this video at 75% so I could take notes because it goes super fast! But I love that it goes through all the different types of pedals IN THE ORDER THEY GO ON THE BOARD. That was super nice. And now with this one video I can narrow my list down the pedals that I actually need. THANK YOU!
i use a boss blues drive with the gain and tone all the way with my amp’s gain on and it’s perfect for playing grunge, hard rock, and metal.
I don’t want a name what about blues
...
This man shows what the efforts can do. Everything a good learning experience .
I ment to say effects, but they both apply. You help a lot of young folks save time and money. Thanks.
Thank you for using Killing in the name for the digitech whammy
And for playing Freedom 16:10 hahaha
this guy talks with pure enthusiasm. tysm for sharing!
really great video! i've learn alot thank to you ! i need a muff now...
I need muff also 😃
We all need muff
Thanks for this video! I've been playing acoustic for 20 years but still consider myself a beginner in electric guitar cause I've never had a electric guitar and pedal world seems like rocket science...
I can‘t stop looking at that blue guitar hanging on the right.. does anyone know what it is ?
By the time I was about halfway through this, I thought to myself "Man, THAT'S how they do it - the cheats!!" I sort of regret not going electric when I was learning guitar as a kid - this sort of thing might even have made playing chords and scales fun.
A very comprehensive thumbnail sketch. Thank you!
Very helpful video, thank you!
Finally, a demonstration that makes me understand the usefulness of a compressor! Thanks! 5:30.
18:15 Every 12 year old guitarist that just bought more then one pedal.
😂😂😂
Thanks for sharing your knowledge of pedals I am truly a beginner at guitar and I am trying to get right sound to give my lyrics something strong sounding but I know nothing about pedals that’s why watching this gave me something to look into thanks
HELPED ME A LOT
BIG MUFF PI!!!! that was one of the first pedals I got when I was a teenager, I loved that thing so much
Very useful and professional production: thank you!
Excuse my ignorance but what is the riff at 19:24-19:38? I recognise it but can't place it.
me too, i would really like to know which song is it.
hey! i think is NIRVANA COME AS YOU ARE
@@SuperMelaaYou're correct! But in fact there are two different riffs here: the first is Bryan May and 'Run to You' and the second (seems like it is all one) is Nirvana.
Excellent presentation, delivery and production. Someone who knows what he's talking about and can speak articulately, making the subject both interesting and informative. I found this very useful. Thank you.
I've been wanting to get an electric guitar for the longest time, but I'm only 15 and too broke to buy one... 😂😂😂
This makes me want one even more
There are some really great cheap guitars like the squire bullet mustang if you are willing to save up and try to earn some money
Squier fender strat very cheap very good
Great video. I’ve been playing for 25 years, and you just took me to school buddy!!

Finally, a no-nonsense, straight to the point, demo-based intro to guitar pedals. Now I don't need to find a collection of videos to compare each effect.
I came to find out stuff about distortion pedals. (For heavy stuff :D )
I’ve been using pedals for 4 years and completely skipped the pedal 101, this vid was a good refresher 👍
Will someone help me?- I’m pretty sure there’s some type of effect pedal on the guitar in Lying Is The Most Fun by Panic! At The Disco. Would like to know what it is to use it cause right now when I play my guitar doesn’t sound the same
Sara smith the equipboard website might be able to help you narrow it down if you look up Panic's gear on there?
Been playing for years now juzt never got interested in anything but distortion. This is good info. Thank you.
This is the single greatest, most helpful, beautifully in depth video I’ve ever watched.
