it sold me on the story potential of the game way more than it sold me on Yanagi specifically. None of what made that demo hit is present in Yanagis current design or character presentation. It feels very disjointed to me.

My account is in the opposite position compared to yours. I have both Lycaon and Koleda (Koleda is at M1, too), so I'm skipping Lighter. I also only have 1 limited S rank (Jane), so I'm pulling for Yanagi and then saving for Miyabi. By the way, great content on your channel!

I just got Burnice last minute and thought "ok, now I gotta save for Miaby" and the BAM that short with her story came out and now I'm regrering every single one of my decisions
You know I really appreciate your videos man. It's nice knowing your mindset as a f2p, watching vids like these really helps me fight my fomo because I swear almost every youtuber I see keeps reiterating how worth and strong the units are without considering an account's needs and circumstances.
Just wanted to say I love your content and really appreciate how you break down and analyze your pulls. Keep the content coming! I’ve been pretty lucky with my pulls and currently have three strong teams: Jane/Seth/Caesar (my best team), Ellen/Lycaon/Soukaku, and S11/Koleda/Lucy. Ellen is the only 50/50 I lost, and I’ve had some luck with the standard banner as well. I’m about 30 pulls away from a guaranteed 50/50, and I’m saving that for Yanagi to start building my electric team. If I don’t get her, I’ll probably hold the guarantee for Miyabi. But if I do pull Yanagi, I’m definitely going after her weapon-Miyabi will have to wait! ZZZ has been a really fun gacha so far, and I’m enjoying the community, the theory crafting, and everything about where the game is headed.
I have burnice so I technically should pull for yanagi and because I got burnice in 20 pulls I have enough for her BUT I want Lighter because he's segsy and and and and and and and and and
i skipped Jane and would 100% go for Yanagi IF there weren't Lighter and Miyabi... if Lighter is the perfect agent for Miyabi, then i might have to skip Yanagi despite her fitting my account very well.

I am not skipping Yanagi, but after that I'm getting into a state of saving up all the polychromes for Miyabi. I've failed the Burnice 50/50 so I decided to then skip after I got to 30 until guaranteed. And although I did end up saving up the 30 pulls, I think Yanagi would be much more versatile in my teams. I have a decent rotation of agents for fire, even better for mixed fire-physical, and Yanagi looks _great_ and has interesting gameplay, and also could play out well with Miyabi with either Soukaku or Qingyi/Anby as the third -wheel- agent.
I'd feel more comfortable pulling for Yanagi if I knew that she worked well with Miyabi, but I doubt that they're going to have any synergy if at all since Yanagi is an on-field agent. Really their whole faction is looking pretty weird compared to NEPS and Calydon which seem to work well with their teammates. That said, I'm kinda leaning toward trying to win the 50/50 on Yanagi. If I lose I won't bet the farm on her but I hope I get her
Alternatively, Miyabi might have a Koleda-like passive where her teammates pop in occasionally to aid in dealing damage, changing depending on which Section 6 units are working with her. This would make her the most optimal unit to play with Yanagi, Harumasa and Soukaku, but it is only a possibility.
I'm going to pull yanagi on the last day of her banner because I always win 50/50 if I pull any character on the last day, Ellen, Jane, Ceaser and Burince, hope i also win yanagi

While I did like the teaser yesterday. The problem is none of 1.3 seems worth my time, I already have my 2nd team now thanks to Caesar with my corrin carry, and I'm even... attempting to get solider 11 set up since the game won't leave me alone on that. So I don't need Yanagi and while Caesar needs attacks to be even remotely a "stun agent" she serves her spot well and 1000 ATK is very cool to have. So unless Lighter is cracked I really have no reason to summon for awhile.

I decided to run hollow zero without a damage dealer. Only stun, defense and support. It reminded me that pulling for damage is my priority lol. Def pulling the Oni queen and skipping lighter. My standard stunners work fine
im still saving for 2.0 but it seems all patches before that will lean in more towards disorder so i built my Rina as an anomaly as a support for my Jane. Currently my jane, zhu, qing, and caesar can clear everything so i will be skipping for now (yanagi does check all the boxes to what i would pull for a character but i dont need atm)
What will determine if I pull for Yanagi or not is how good she is since she seems to have been getting nerfed a lot in the beta. If she can do as much damage as my Jane, then I'll pull for her building her as my second Shiyu team. If not, I'll hold for Miyabi.
She was nerfed because she was A LOT better than every other dps in the game. Even after them, she is still one of the better limited dps And btw, some of the nerfs have been undone in the preload, we'll only know for sure when 1.3 releases though
Stop consume too much leak! nerf/buff is normal thing in beta test, nerf cause its to OP doesn't mean weak, imagine if u dont know any leak! And try it the day its release, you ll be fine no matter the agent good or not, hufttt
I would say that on paper her disorder team (yanagi, burnice, rina/caesar/lucy) will be better than jane disorder team (jane, burnice, caesar/lucy/seth) but her hypercarry team will be worse. Also most enemies with electric weakness have fire resistance so that shouldnt be overlooked
I just started out playing a while ago. Barely got burnice. Might spend a little on her banner but will mostly save for Miyabi, even though I only saw her once in game I really like her design
My main two teams are the exact same ones XD even bangboos. (I also have Piper, Neko, and Caesar at 50, and Seth at 55) Originally I planned on getting Yanagi, but changed my mind after realizing she is an on fielder. So yeah, I might be going for Lighter, buuuuuut. I've c1 Koleda, so idk... and I am going for Grace when I eventually pull her, which makes Koleda slightly more flexible.
Looks like this will be where our limiteds finally diverge. I really like the thought of having Yanagi available to be an optional replacement for Jane in physical-resistant matchups with Burnice that could also handle carrying a solo dps team. I've also already got Koleda heavily built as the stunner for my ZY team, so I don't necessarily want to outmode her with Lighter.
My reason for getting Lighter is almost the same as yours; I need a limited S rank Stun agent sooner rather than later. Qingyi just kind of never did it for me when Anby already filled her role so well, but Lighter can give me an opportunity to move Caesar elsewhere when there's a Shiyu Defense that isn't weak to Ether. My current two teams are 1) Nicole, Zhu Yuan, and Anby (I put them like this because I figured this would allow ZY to get more energy, but I might just switch it again like you have in the video) 2) Caesar, Lucy, and Piper (Piper switches out with Soldier 11 whenever I need to do fire damage or physical damage) Getting Lighter would finally mean I can try more options (Like Lighter, Lucy, and Soldier 11) and it also means that I can rest Zhu Yuan to take another DPS to the field when they aren't weak to Ether (Speaking of which, does the weakness only matter for Anomaly or do the units actually do more damage?)
I started around launch but missed most of 1.1 so I didn't get jane so I am pulling yanagi and hopping miyabi is in the 2nd half so I can get her and wengine
Got grace on my last 50/50, and lycaon 20 standard pulls ago, so I think I'm skipping both 1.3 banners. I need an ice DPS agent, so I guess I'm stuck in the miyabi queue
My plans for pulling both Caesar and Burnice worked better than I expected (two of each!), and I’m very satisfied with where my account is right now. I’m not interested in Harumasa and Miyabi, and beyond them I don’t even know the next agents I’ll be interested in until the idol unit happens. As for Yanagi and Lighter, neither are all-in must-haves for me. They’re in that “it’d be cool if I got them, but I won’t be broken up if I need to get them on a rerun” position. Yanagi’s lore video was cool, I could use another electric anomaly, and it’d be nice to have a faction teammate for Soukaku. As for Lighter, I really kinda just want him because he’s in Sons of Calydon, and they’re my favorite faction. I have Koleda and Lycaon already, so I’m pretty comfy on stunners. I’m close to another hard pity S-rank, so I’ll see if I win the 50/50 for Yanagi. If not, maybe I’ll wait and get Lighter.
She's actually the first limited 5* I have pulled for in ZZZ. I pulled for her because I really wanted Grace, but used my standard guarantee for Von Lycaon (no regrets). She's really slick, and while there's some nuance to her kit, she's the electric anomaly character I've been wanting. *Let's see if she comes home. I like Section 6 as a faction (Belobog, Victoria Housekeeping and Cunning Hares are fun bunches too), and the only member I have is Soukaku (who I don't love). I'm hoping Yanagi pairs well with Miyabi and whatever that dude's name is (the guy with two swords).
My ZZZ experience has been wild. Ellen, Jane, Caesar, Burnice, Yanagi. I've won a lot of 50/50s. I'm hoping this and next patch will fund a Miyabi pull.
Your logic makes a lot of sense, with ZY anchoring a team and s11 on the bench with no Lyc. For me I have Lyc on the bench and no s11, no ZY, so I'm shaping up to have a yanagi team and a jane team with a large pool of supports and burnice than can flexibly shift around to either team. So she's a definite pull for me.
good luck to everyone pulling for her! hoyo has made it impossible for me to skip a character since day 1 with this game, there just hasn't been a banner that has let me down 50/50 be damned.
If the new Battle Tower mode is at all indicative of future difficult content, I think there is merit to building more than 2 teams centered around hyper carries or disorder. I used 4 different teams for it, and I probably could have used more too.
I thought I was going to pass on her since I have characters to clear end game content and I need other attributes, but her gameplay sold me. Timing her stance change to block any incoming attack is so satisfying. It's the first time I want to solo corrupt Jane purely just for the fun of it.
Dont wanna pull in 1.3 cos i dont have polychromes for Yanagi and i kinda tired squeezing every single polychrome from the game to pull character( i literally complete all story in 3 days during 1.0 patch to get Ellen, and was playing 6 hours a day to pull Burnice. I lose both 50/50 tho). And lighter is not necessary for my account cos i have Lycaon and dont have Solder 11.
Got Rina instead of Yanagi, which is cool cause I'll use her. I think we might get more comps for Soldier 11 before we get Miyabi - if we don't get a re-run first - so I'm going to take the risk and get Yanagi still, then try gain enough Poly for Miyabi again. Edit: I've not yet pulled for Yanagi again, and now Miyabi has been teased, so guess I'm waiting lol
I've been a Yanagi Wanter since seeing her in the launch trailer, and her character teaser has me tempted to build Soukaku so they can be on a team together. I've been saying all along that Miyabi is over-hyped, but if she turns out to be Ice Anomaly like the leaks say, then I'll pull for her just to justify running Soukaku (my only other Ice Agent is Lycaon, whose element is more or less incidental.)
i think im in a similar situation as u, for miyabi it would be better to have burnice, lighter, i dont have burnice, but i could get her right now, and lighter is extremely interesting, so cool character and im missing a second strong stunner (im kinda tired of amby tbh xD), and also i have Soldier 11 and Ellen, but burnice is so boring to play, she looks amazing but her gameplay is really really bad imo, and Yanagi is looking extremely fun, complex, with nice animations, i love her design, and she could also have interesting compatibility with Miyabi. I feel bad about skipping Lighter but he came out on a really bad timming, but if Miyabi is not comming in 1.4 (which i dont see happening xD), i will try some pulls for Lighter :P

Unexpectedly pulled caesar while farming piper and anton Mindscape hours before transitioning to Burnice. I particulary like out of pocket team comps since Genshin days so I built her in a team comp of: Jane, Seth, Caesar. must say since I only rotate to apply the buffs to jane here dmg output at C0, sign Wengine in shiyu is bonkers. Triggering 400k assault minimum. In Nest, deletes bosses after 3 assault trigger beside the flower pot. Proves that standalone anomaly that is boosted is stronk besides the disorder build.
I also dreaded that Yanagi is released in the banner without soukaku. Like come on, after that introduction in the lore drop and that "HANGWY" do you expect players not to pair yanagi and soukaku?
In my head im already pulling. I have 120 tapes, burnice and caesar (+signature) The other agents im using are pipper lucy nicole and nekomata. I need more atribute coverage and a strong on field dps.
here's the thing, if miyabi ISN'T next patch, im probably gonna go for lighter or harumasa. since the only reason im skipping this patch is BECAUSE of the possibility that shes there.
My only limited S ranks are Ceasar and Burnice but as someone with Grace and Koleda 1.3 is a saving patch for me. Hoyo is leaning into Fire and Electric characters elements that the standard banner has coverage in. I would like either some ice or ether characters my account needs them
Im F2P and started playing during Burnices banner... managed to get Burnice after 130 ish pulls... and while I kinda want Yanagi, I want Miyabi EVEN MORE. I HAVE TO SAVE!
Even though im saving for miyabi i will still pull for yanagi, bcs she is just so beautiful, elegant, kind, and strong. And I just love her. And also, i am in need of a DPS
As someone with lycaon and koleda from losing both 50/50’s I will be skipping lighter and I’m definitely not pulling for harumasa so I’ll pull for yanagi to start building pity for miyabi since I have no faith in not losing a third 50/50 and needing soft pity like every other time I’ve pulled
I'm very torn as well.. I didn't pull for Burnice since I didn't feel like I needed her, but in retrospect I think I maybe should have pulled for her and then Yanagi. Now I'm leaning towards skipping everything until Miyabi comes out, since I already have Jane and Zhu Yuan/Qingyi teams. I also have Lycaon and Soukaku, so Miyabi could help me make a really good ice team (replacing my Ellen which is kinda falling off atm, not performing well).
Am going to do at least 50/because only like 20 pulls max needed for that otherwise will see how I feel if that misses and if we get more info of next month since I have both S rank stun agents already, am only missing soilder 11, Rina, Neko of the standard set and Ellen and burnice of limited
got Burnice accidentally last minute while trying to c6 lucy, now to pull Yanagi as waifu and an upgrade to Piper anomaly team is very tempting. but Lighter is also definitely an upgrade for my S11 hypercarry that's still relying on Anby.
Im at least getting Yanagi's engine. I got 20 left (Failed the first chance on the engine banner) and 30 pulls saved. So if anything I'll have the engine.
I pulled for Yanagi and got Grace in the first 10-Pull. I happy about 2 S-Rank Electro Anomaly Agents, but it is still funny that this is the banner where I finally got Grace.
I am breezing through Shiyu because my Piper/Caesar/Lucy team is busted and I can switch between Grace/Seth/Rina and Zhu Yuan/Anby/Nicole depending on weakness. Getting Yanagi won’t really do much besides make my shock team busted, which would be neat I guess, but I like Grace too much to just throw her by the wayside. Lighter is cool, so I want to pull for him despite having no fire or ice dps yet… I’d probably use him with Piper and Lucy to free up Caesar on other teams, but then I’d have to consider my pull budget for future characters like Harumasa and Miyabi. Too many interesting characters coming up for me to choose!
Yanagi will put my account at 3 out of 5 characters (Ice hypercarry, Physical hypercarry and now electric hypercarry) and I do enjoy great combinations but I’m not all down for having the most dmg when I can just do what I like with characters I like. You’re also right, I will find a way to make her work without Burnice thank you for acknowledging that. 😁
I lost my 50/50 (0/2) on burnice. At best at i can take a 50/50 for Yanagi. My burnice/piper/lucy team is amazing but i really do need another carry agent to get a good second team.
I'm still saving for Miyabi. She'll fill the Ice comp for me. atm I got ZY + Nicole + Anby, Jane + Seth + Lucy, so Miyabi will likely go w Soukaku + Lycaon/Lighter. This will work no matter if Miyabi is an Ice Attacker or Ice Anomaly. Hopefully she'll have her drip marketing sooner than later.
Yanagi + Miyabi is prolly gonna be amazing. Did miss out on burnice and jane (lost 50/50) on both so for me she‘s a must pull (even though i do have ellen and zhu yuan)

got burnice and going for yanagi and hoping I have enough time to recover for miyabi. That way I have fire disorder, ice disorder, and mono lightning options for yanagi teams. Lighter is cool but I've got a pretty well built M2 koleda.
In my current plans for having a Limited S-Rank dps for every element for every elemental coverage, Yanagi is a "Pull to the 50/50" since if I win then great and if I lose then I have time to stockpile and wait for Harumasa. I also dont need either of the A ranks on this banner so I honestly want m300 Anby more than anything so I can get more refunds and be more comfortable in my reserve Stock, since I am also at 600 signal and really want to get Hellfire Gears soon. Other than that? my next pull plan is dependent all on the 50/50, but theres very little chance I pull for Lighter, and my next focus comes to Zhu Yuan/Qingyi reruns.
Made a bit of a blunder thinking too far ahead with my guaranteed 300 S-Rank choice and picked Rina over Grace...for a potential M6 Soldier 11 I'll probably never see. So with Yanagi being a second swing at an Electric Anomaly...it's incredibly tempting to burn the guaranteed S-Rank I've been sitting on since Jane (thanks Nekomata for the insurance). The only reason I'm *not* going to do that is because I don't really need a second Anomaly Agent for fast clears. Save for one node (Critical 5), all my clears are fast enough for an S-Rank. Sure, the double proc damage from Disorder would speed up Jane's side...but I'm determined to believe that at least one of the failed S-Rank rolls on Lighter's banner will be Grace. I hope. Fingers crossed that Miyabi's an Attack-type as I'm looking to pivot away from Anomaly teams for straight damage in the future. Something in my gut's telling me we're gonna start seeing more anomaly-resistant enemies in the future to shake up player team comps.

For me, I am thinking of pulling for Yanagi and skipping Lighter. I got a Koleda from 50/50 lost on Qingyi, and have both Jane & Burnice. While I do have Anton, I feel that Yanagi might be a more reliable Electric DPS for me. If I end up losing her 50/50 to Grace, I would be ok with that as that gives me another Electric unit too. I think it will come down to how she feels to play as, which I certainly will be able to try out during the v1.3 Special Episode
Currently have Caesar and Burnice and 60 pulls so can 50/50 Yanagi but I'm not sure an electric anomaly is what I want to go for. If Miyabi is early in 1.4 and I get Yanagi then I've almost no chance to get her and then I'm completely without any way to clear content requiring an ice or ether agent. Whereas if I save for Miyabi then as soon as I get Grace from either missing 50/50s or the 300 pity I'll have an answer for everything except ether. Not to mention if I get Yanagi I'll eventually have/need a limited dps in fire, electric, ether and ice. That feels like over relying on dps agents. Also I feel like if I win the 50/50 on Yanagi I'm not really in a position to rely on content for average luck gamers.

I definitely get Yanagi, because i currently run 3 physical and 3 fire characters, getting her would give me a reason to get anby and later seth too into a usable state. Maybe then i wont need 5 mins on electric weakness enemies in Shiyu defence.
You actually convinced me to pull for her (i don't have Jane) as i'm lacking a second hyper carry. The REAL problem, as you said, is Lighter. I'll definately pull for Miyabi. But what if Lighter is perfect for Miyabi ? i can afford to pull one more character before Miyabi (even if i lost 50/50) but probably can't afford both (especially if i lost one 50/50)... that sucks honestly. Genshin was never as much a problem as ZZZ is.
I’ve got Grace but I’m still pulling for Yanagi. I typically run Grace/Jane/Seth together and Burnice/Piper/Lucy on the other while mixing between them and substituting a benched lvl 50 like Nicole etc if needed. I do feel the lack of not having Ellen or Zhu Yuan as I skipped them and really want more damage on the side that doesn’t have Jane. Alternatively, I could role for Yanagi’s W engine but I’ve liked Yanagi since the early story cutscenes of Section 6.
I can totally see how skipping yanagi for lighter can be a good idea, at least for me. Thankfully I'm only missing koleda and zhu yuan, plus my ellen is well built, so swapping qingyi for lighter in our current endgame content would be a huge buff.
As long as I don't get absolutely annihilated by Shiyu Defense resistances, I'm pulling HAND on their rerun (which might be quicker anyway because of the void hunter). Idol faction here I come!
Not skipping because I want all the Anomaly characters for one, and the more important part, she saved baby Soukaku. After the extremely cheerful pyromaniac, and femme fatale police behaviorist we got the kind Librarian. And finally, her kit (as in the complexity of it) sound extremely fun.
The main question on my mind is HOW much better Yanagi is than Grace. Ive already max invested into my Grace and i have her weapon to boot. My accounts got M1W1 of Qingyi and Burnice so now im looking towards dps to round out my element coverage but unless she's just leaps and bounds above Grace its hard to justify in my mind getting her, especially with Miyabi potentially on the way.
Gonna get her and the W-Engine and then I'm gonna chill for a couple banners probably, unless they release Miyabi in 1.4 or do a rerun of Ellen then I will probably get Lighter.
Don't have the funds to guarantee anything, but I'm pulling on both Yanagi and Lighter banners and hoping I get lucky. I want it all! Also yeah, I have trouble with timing Soldier 11's attacks. I can do it right if I focus on it, but if I focus on it, everything else goes to pot. Really like her, and she feels great when you play her well, but she takes more mental bandwidth than other characters unless you just ignore the timing completely and don't bother attacking unless she's coming off a chain attack or you use her EX special to guarantee Fire Suppression attacks.
I'm in a similar situation as you as I have Jane and Burnice. I don't see myself replacing Jane anytime soon. But I kinda want an electro 5 star dps so depending on how much I like her playstyle, I might make the 50/50 decide for me. If I lose, then guaranteed Harumasa it is. Definitely not pulling her the first week and might wait around for Harumasa details.
I started playing in the 5th of October and managed to get Caesar and Burnice. Yanagi's not my cup of tea even though I'm struggling with later shiyu defenses (most of my chars are still lvl 40) Piper is my girl together with Burnice and Caesar so she can spin uninterrupted. As for the reason why I'm pulling Lighter, I want to be able to say "yare yare daze" and then quote various Jotaro and fighting game lines in an autistic fashion. Also, he's my boy, the vibes I got from the Sons of Calydon story are immaculate and Aleks Le is probably the most fun english voice actor to date.

Lighter is the 'Best Boy' of ZZZ so far not gonna lie (though I'm happy with Lycon). But $$ already went to Yanagi, so Lighter will be skipped.

I’ve been pretty lucky with my pulls and currently have three strong teams: Jane/Seth/Caesar (my best team), Ellen/Lycaon/Soukaku, and S11/Koleda/Lucy. Ellen is the only 50/50 I lost, and I’ve had some luck with the standard banner as well.
I’m about 30 pulls away from a guaranteed 50/50, and I’m saving that for Yanagi to start building my electric team. If I don’t get her, I’ll probably hold the guarantee for Miyabi. But if I do pull Yanagi, I’m definitely going after her weapon-Miyabi will have to wait! ZZZ has been a really fun gacha so far, and I’m enjoying the community, the theory crafting, and everything about where the game is headed.

I am not skipping Yanagi, but after that I'm getting into a state of saving up all the polychromes for Miyabi.
I've failed the Burnice 50/50 so I decided to then skip after I got to 30 until guaranteed. And although I did end up saving up the 30 pulls, I think Yanagi would be much more versatile in my teams. I have a decent rotation of agents for fire, even better for mixed fire-physical, and Yanagi looks _great_ and has interesting gameplay, and also could play out well with Miyabi with either Soukaku or Qingyi/Anby as the third -wheel- agent.
I have 250 pulls rn. I'm gonna try for both Yanagi and Lighter plus their engines. I just pray I'll have enough for Harumasa/Astra 🙏
I'd feel more comfortable pulling for Yanagi if I knew that she worked well with Miyabi, but I doubt that they're going to have any synergy if at all since Yanagi is an on-field agent. Really their whole faction is looking pretty weird compared to NEPS and Calydon which seem to work well with their teammates.
That said, I'm kinda leaning toward trying to win the 50/50 on Yanagi. If I lose I won't bet the farm on her but I hope I get her
Yeah, based on the Leaks Miyabi will be an onfielder anomaly dps that also buffs crit dmg. So she and yanagi will be fighting for fieldtime.
Alternatively, Miyabi might have a Koleda-like passive where her teammates pop in occasionally to aid in dealing damage, changing depending on which Section 6 units are working with her. This would make her the most optimal unit to play with Yanagi, Harumasa and Soukaku, but it is only a possibility.

While I did like the teaser yesterday. The problem is none of 1.3 seems worth my time, I already have my 2nd team now thanks to Caesar with my corrin carry, and I'm even... attempting to get solider 11 set up since the game won't leave me alone on that. So I don't need Yanagi and while Caesar needs attacks to be even remotely a "stun agent" she serves her spot well and 1000 ATK is very cool to have. So unless Lighter is cracked I really have no reason to summon for awhile.

I decided to run hollow zero without a damage dealer. Only stun, defense and support. It reminded me that pulling for damage is my priority lol. Def pulling the Oni queen and skipping lighter. My standard stunners work fine

im still saving for 2.0 but it seems all patches before that will lean in more towards disorder so i built my Rina as an anomaly as a support for my Jane.
Currently my jane, zhu, qing, and caesar can clear everything so i will be skipping for now (yanagi does check all the boxes to what i would pull for a character but i dont need atm)
What will determine if I pull for Yanagi or not is how good she is since she seems to have been getting nerfed a lot in the beta. If she can do as much damage as my Jane, then I'll pull for her building her as my second Shiyu team. If not, I'll hold for Miyabi.
She was nerfed because she was A LOT better than every other dps in the game. Even after them, she is still one of the better limited dps
And btw, some of the nerfs have been undone in the preload, we'll only know for sure when 1.3 releases though

I would say that on paper her disorder team (yanagi, burnice, rina/caesar/lucy) will be better than jane disorder team (jane, burnice, caesar/lucy/seth) but her hypercarry team will be worse. Also most enemies with electric weakness have fire resistance so that shouldnt be overlooked
I just started out playing a while ago. Barely got burnice. Might spend a little on her banner but will mostly save for Miyabi, even though I only saw her once in game I really like her design
My main two teams are the exact same ones XD even bangboos. (I also have Piper, Neko, and Caesar at 50, and Seth at 55)
Originally I planned on getting Yanagi, but changed my mind after realizing she is an on fielder.
So yeah, I might be going for Lighter, buuuuuut. I've c1 Koleda, so idk... and I am going for Grace when I eventually pull her, which makes Koleda slightly more flexible.

Nice video! I'm hopeful for Yanagi to gain more off fields units in the future and I'm hoping it's going to be an Ether unit.
Looks like this will be where our limiteds finally diverge. I really like the thought of having Yanagi available to be an optional replacement for Jane in physical-resistant matchups with Burnice that could also handle carrying a solo dps team.
I've also already got Koleda heavily built as the stunner for my ZY team, so I don't necessarily want to outmode her with Lighter.
My reason for getting Lighter is almost the same as yours; I need a limited S rank Stun agent sooner rather than later. Qingyi just kind of never did it for me when Anby already filled her role so well, but Lighter can give me an opportunity to move Caesar elsewhere when there's a Shiyu Defense that isn't weak to Ether. My current two teams are
1) Nicole, Zhu Yuan, and Anby (I put them like this because I figured this would allow ZY to get more energy, but I might just switch it again like you have in the video)
2) Caesar, Lucy, and Piper (Piper switches out with Soldier 11 whenever I need to do fire damage or physical damage)
Getting Lighter would finally mean I can try more options (Like Lighter, Lucy, and Soldier 11) and it also means that I can rest Zhu Yuan to take another DPS to the field when they aren't weak to Ether (Speaking of which, does the weakness only matter for Anomaly or do the units actually do more damage?)

Yanagi is the first limited S rank that I pulled in the first ten pulls and won 50/50 on. So glad I got lucky because I had no extra polychrome.
My plans for pulling both Caesar and Burnice worked better than I expected (two of each!), and I’m very satisfied with where my account is right now. I’m not interested in Harumasa and Miyabi, and beyond them I don’t even know the next agents I’ll be interested in until the idol unit happens. As for Yanagi and Lighter, neither are all-in must-haves for me. They’re in that “it’d be cool if I got them, but I won’t be broken up if I need to get them on a rerun” position. Yanagi’s lore video was cool, I could use another electric anomaly, and it’d be nice to have a faction teammate for Soukaku. As for Lighter, I really kinda just want him because he’s in Sons of Calydon, and they’re my favorite faction. I have Koleda and Lycaon already, so I’m pretty comfy on stunners. I’m close to another hard pity S-rank, so I’ll see if I win the 50/50 for Yanagi. If not, maybe I’ll wait and get Lighter.
She's actually the first limited 5* I have pulled for in ZZZ.
I pulled for her because I really wanted Grace, but used my standard guarantee for Von Lycaon (no regrets). She's really slick, and while there's some nuance to her kit, she's the electric anomaly character I've been wanting.
*Let's see if she comes home. I like Section 6 as a faction (Belobog, Victoria Housekeeping and Cunning Hares are fun bunches too), and the only member I have is Soukaku (who I don't love). I'm hoping Yanagi pairs well with Miyabi and whatever that dude's name is (the guy with two swords).
My ZZZ experience has been wild. Ellen, Jane, Caesar, Burnice, Yanagi. I've won a lot of 50/50s.
I'm hoping this and next patch will fund a Miyabi pull.
Your logic makes a lot of sense, with ZY anchoring a team and s11 on the bench with no Lyc. For me I have Lyc on the bench and no s11, no ZY, so I'm shaping up to have a yanagi team and a jane team with a large pool of supports and burnice than can flexibly shift around to either team. So she's a definite pull for me.

If the new Battle Tower mode is at all indicative of future difficult content, I think there is merit to building more than 2 teams centered around hyper carries or disorder. I used 4 different teams for it, and I probably could have used more too.
I thought I was going to pass on her since I have characters to clear end game content and I need other attributes, but her gameplay sold me. Timing her stance change to block any incoming attack is so satisfying. It's the first time I want to solo corrupt Jane purely just for the fun of it.
I am also skipping her coz I can clear everything with my zhuyuan qinyi and Nicole and Jane Caesar and burnice
Dont wanna pull in 1.3 cos i dont have polychromes for Yanagi and i kinda tired squeezing every single polychrome from the game to pull character( i literally complete all story in 3 days during 1.0 patch to get Ellen, and was playing 6 hours a day to pull Burnice. I lose both 50/50 tho). And lighter is not necessary for my account cos i have Lycaon and dont have Solder 11.
Got Rina instead of Yanagi, which is cool cause I'll use her. I think we might get more comps for Soldier 11 before we get Miyabi - if we don't get a re-run first - so I'm going to take the risk and get Yanagi still, then try gain enough Poly for Miyabi again.
Edit: I've not yet pulled for Yanagi again, and now Miyabi has been teased, so guess I'm waiting lol
I've been a Yanagi Wanter since seeing her in the launch trailer, and her character teaser has me tempted to build Soukaku so they can be on a team together. I've been saying all along that Miyabi is over-hyped, but if she turns out to be Ice Anomaly like the leaks say, then I'll pull for her just to justify running Soukaku (my only other Ice Agent is Lycaon, whose element is more or less incidental.)
i think im in a similar situation as u, for miyabi it would be better to have burnice, lighter, i dont have burnice, but i could get her right now, and lighter is extremely interesting, so cool character and im missing a second strong stunner (im kinda tired of amby tbh xD), and also i have Soldier 11 and Ellen, but burnice is so boring to play, she looks amazing but her gameplay is really really bad imo, and Yanagi is looking extremely fun, complex, with nice animations, i love her design, and she could also have interesting compatibility with Miyabi. I feel bad about skipping Lighter but he came out on a really bad timming, but if Miyabi is not comming in 1.4 (which i dont see happening xD), i will try some pulls for Lighter :P

Unexpectedly pulled caesar while farming piper and anton Mindscape hours before transitioning to Burnice. I particulary like out of pocket team comps since Genshin days so I built her in a team comp of: Jane, Seth, Caesar. must say since I only rotate to apply the buffs to jane here dmg output at C0, sign Wengine in shiyu is bonkers. Triggering 400k assault minimum. In Nest, deletes bosses after 3 assault trigger beside the flower pot. Proves that standalone anomaly that is boosted is stronk besides the disorder build.
I also dreaded that Yanagi is released in the banner without soukaku. Like come on, after that introduction in the lore drop and that "HANGWY" do you expect players not to pair yanagi and soukaku?

here's the thing, if miyabi ISN'T next patch, im probably gonna go for lighter or harumasa. since the only reason im skipping this patch is BECAUSE of the possibility that shes there.
My only limited S ranks are Ceasar and Burnice but as someone with Grace and Koleda 1.3 is a saving patch for me. Hoyo is leaning into Fire and Electric characters elements that the standard banner has coverage in. I would like either some ice or ether characters my account needs them
Yanagi is one character I look forward to pulling on her rerun for sure, she provides what I want in a unit, fun and a bit of complexity.
Im F2P and started playing during Burnices banner... managed to get Burnice after 130 ish pulls... and while I kinda want Yanagi, I want Miyabi EVEN MORE. I HAVE TO SAVE!

As someone with lycaon and koleda from losing both 50/50’s I will be skipping lighter and I’m definitely not pulling for harumasa so I’ll pull for yanagi to start building pity for miyabi since I have no faith in not losing a third 50/50 and needing soft pity like every other time I’ve pulled
I'm very torn as well.. I didn't pull for Burnice since I didn't feel like I needed her, but in retrospect I think I maybe should have pulled for her and then Yanagi. Now I'm leaning towards skipping everything until Miyabi comes out, since I already have Jane and Zhu Yuan/Qingyi teams. I also have Lycaon and Soukaku, so Miyabi could help me make a really good ice team (replacing my Ellen which is kinda falling off atm, not performing well).
Am going to do at least 50/because only like 20 pulls max needed for that otherwise will see how I feel if that misses and if we get more info of next month

I pulled for Yanagi and got Grace in the first 10-Pull. I happy about 2 S-Rank Electro Anomaly Agents, but it is still funny that this is the banner where I finally got Grace.
I am breezing through Shiyu because my Piper/Caesar/Lucy team is busted and I can switch between Grace/Seth/Rina and Zhu Yuan/Anby/Nicole depending on weakness. Getting Yanagi won’t really do much besides make my shock team busted, which would be neat I guess, but I like Grace too much to just throw her by the wayside. Lighter is cool, so I want to pull for him despite having no fire or ice dps yet… I’d probably use him with Piper and Lucy to free up Caesar on other teams, but then I’d have to consider my pull budget for future characters like Harumasa and Miyabi. Too many interesting characters coming up for me to choose!
Yanagi will put my account at 3 out of 5 characters (Ice hypercarry, Physical hypercarry and now electric hypercarry) and I do enjoy great combinations but I’m not all down for having the most dmg when I can just do what I like with characters I like. You’re also right, I will find a way to make her work without Burnice thank you for acknowledging that. 😁

atm I got ZY + Nicole + Anby, Jane + Seth + Lucy, so Miyabi will likely go w Soukaku + Lycaon/Lighter. This will work no matter if Miyabi is an Ice Attacker or Ice Anomaly. Hopefully she'll have her drip marketing sooner than later.

In my current plans for having a Limited S-Rank dps for every element for every elemental coverage, Yanagi is a "Pull to the 50/50" since if I win then great and if I lose then I have time to stockpile and wait for Harumasa. I also dont need either of the A ranks on this banner so I honestly want m300 Anby more than anything so I can get more refunds and be more comfortable in my reserve Stock, since I am also at 600 signal and really want to get Hellfire Gears soon.
Other than that? my next pull plan is dependent all on the 50/50, but theres very little chance I pull for Lighter, and my next focus comes to Zhu Yuan/Qingyi reruns.
Made a bit of a blunder thinking too far ahead with my guaranteed 300 S-Rank choice and picked Rina over Grace...for a potential M6 Soldier 11 I'll probably never see. So with Yanagi being a second swing at an Electric Anomaly...it's incredibly tempting to burn the guaranteed S-Rank I've been sitting on since Jane (thanks Nekomata for the insurance).
The only reason I'm *not* going to do that is because I don't really need a second Anomaly Agent for fast clears. Save for one node (Critical 5), all my clears are fast enough for an S-Rank. Sure, the double proc damage from Disorder would speed up Jane's side...but I'm determined to believe that at least one of the failed S-Rank rolls on Lighter's banner will be Grace.

Fingers crossed that Miyabi's an Attack-type as I'm looking to pivot away from Anomaly teams for straight damage in the future. Something in my gut's telling me we're gonna start seeing more anomaly-resistant enemies in the future to shake up player team comps.

I pulled on the Burnice banner hoping I'd lose the 50/50 (which I did, so I now have Soldier 11 along with C1 Lycaon and Koleda now) The only Anomaly i have is Piper, but I'm still sure as hell gonna get Yanagi and try to make her work.

I got a Koleda from 50/50 lost on Qingyi, and have both Jane & Burnice.
While I do have Anton, I feel that Yanagi might be a more reliable Electric DPS for me. If I end up losing her 50/50 to Grace, I would be ok with that as that gives me another Electric unit too.
I think it will come down to how she feels to play as, which I certainly will be able to try out during the v1.3 Special Episode
Currently have Caesar and Burnice and 60 pulls so can 50/50 Yanagi but I'm not sure an electric anomaly is what I want to go for. If Miyabi is early in 1.4 and I get Yanagi then I've almost no chance to get her and then I'm completely without any way to clear content requiring an ice or ether agent. Whereas if I save for Miyabi then as soon as I get Grace from either missing 50/50s or the 300 pity I'll have an answer for everything except ether.
Not to mention if I get Yanagi I'll eventually have/need a limited dps in fire, electric, ether and ice. That feels like over relying on dps agents.
Also I feel like if I win the 50/50 on Yanagi I'm not really in a position to rely on content for average luck gamers.

You actually convinced me to pull for her (i don't have Jane) as i'm lacking a second hyper carry. The REAL problem, as you said, is Lighter. I'll definately pull for Miyabi. But what if Lighter is perfect for Miyabi ? i can afford to pull one more character before Miyabi (even if i lost 50/50) but probably can't afford both (especially if i lost one 50/50)... that sucks honestly. Genshin was never as much a problem as ZZZ is.
I’ve got Grace but I’m still pulling for Yanagi. I typically run Grace/Jane/Seth together and Burnice/Piper/Lucy on the other while mixing between them and substituting a benched lvl 50 like Nicole etc if needed. I do feel the lack of not having Ellen or Zhu Yuan as I skipped them and really want more damage on the side that doesn’t have Jane. Alternatively, I could role for Yanagi’s W engine but I’ve liked Yanagi since the early story cutscenes of Section 6.
I can totally see how skipping yanagi for lighter can be a good idea, at least for me. Thankfully I'm only missing koleda and zhu yuan, plus my ellen is well built, so swapping qingyi for lighter in our current endgame content would be a huge buff.
Saving for Miyabi from the start
As long as I don't get absolutely annihilated by Shiyu Defense resistances, I'm pulling HAND on their rerun (which might be quicker anyway because of the void hunter). Idol faction here I come!
Not skipping because I want all the Anomaly characters for one, and the more important part, she saved baby Soukaku.

And finally, her kit (as in the complexity of it) sound extremely fun.
The main question on my mind is HOW much better Yanagi is than Grace. Ive already max invested into my Grace and i have her weapon to boot.
My accounts got M1W1 of Qingyi and Burnice so now im looking towards dps to round out my element coverage but unless she's just leaps and bounds above Grace its hard to justify in my mind getting her, especially with Miyabi potentially on the way.
they are definitely gonna hit us with the physical resistance on that patch to get us away from using jane/piper
I dont have burnice but I used yanagi and grace tgt and they cleared shiyu 7 easily at lvl 45 and 50 respectively.
Gonna get her and the W-Engine and then I'm gonna chill for a couple banners probably, unless they release Miyabi in 1.4 or do a rerun of Ellen then I will probably get Lighter.
I actually want Yanagi because of character and personality, same for lighter but i have to recover chromes after getting both Caesar and Burnice.
Don't have the funds to guarantee anything, but I'm pulling on both Yanagi and Lighter banners and hoping I get lucky. I want it all! Also yeah, I have trouble with timing Soldier 11's attacks. I can do it right if I focus on it, but if I focus on it, everything else goes to pot. Really like her, and she feels great when you play her well, but she takes more mental bandwidth than other characters unless you just ignore the timing completely and don't bother attacking unless she's coming off a chain attack or you use her EX special to guarantee Fire Suppression attacks.
I'm in a similar situation as you as I have Jane and Burnice. I don't see myself replacing Jane anytime soon. But I kinda want an electro 5 star dps so depending on how much I like her playstyle, I might make the 50/50 decide for me. If I lose, then guaranteed Harumasa it is. Definitely not pulling her the first week and might wait around for Harumasa details.
I started playing in the 5th of October and managed to get Caesar and Burnice. Yanagi's not my cup of tea even though I'm struggling with later shiyu defenses (most of my chars are still lvl 40) Piper is my girl together with Burnice and Caesar so she can spin uninterrupted. As for the reason why I'm pulling Lighter, I want to be able to say "yare yare daze" and then quote various Jotaro and fighting game lines in an autistic fashion.
Also, he's my boy, the vibes I got from the Sons of Calydon story are immaculate and Aleks Le is probably the most fun english voice actor to date.
