Your siphon set up gave me ideas at work awhile back we had a sedimant basin that needed to be worked on was flooding our site slowly , bosses were triing to pump it out with a 3 inch trash pump ,i gathered up some 4 inch pipe that we have laying everywhere sorta joined it together and used the 3 inch pump to start the siphon from the drain side , was a pain to get going but drained it out without a lick of fuel
Looks good Chris. You siphon setup is pretty slick for draining down a pond, but getting that cap off was making me tired just watching ya go in circles haha.
Hey Chris, maybe put a 1" ball valve on top your cap there so you can break the siphon without wearing yourself out. I don't suppose you're filling the cap with a 6" hose anyway are ya?
You showed using a siphon on a job a while back to drain a pond and I filed away that trick for the future. Amazing what you can do with a simple machine.
As someone who does dredging I gotta say, that was painful to watch. Not your work, but only being able to do part of the pond. Stuff like that does my head in. Good job as always.
you really should put signs around the pit because I bet theres kids that co me down there and snow fences wont stop them. I have seen those pits swallow many deer. especially when its fresh some idiot could easily go over the fence and disappear
YUCK.... That looks like the crap they used to fill in the upper section of the neighbors after the bad floods here. Stuff smelled worse than a septic tank... Times like that you need a long stick unit or an extendable stick...
It is hard coming out because its on a massive vacuum and as your loosen the cap you are trying to create more vacuum which makes it even harder to turn.....................
will meldrum Chris has a video somewhere in his playlist showing how he starts them. I think he caps the end, fills the dam side with water, pops the bottom cap, and the length of the dam side is longer than pond side so it creates enough suction to get pond water over the Apex. If that makes any sense.
You trying to unscrew in the suction is trying to hold it down. Grease those threads up good and don't screw that cap in all the way. Maybe if this is going to be something you do often maybe want to drill and tap a cap and put a half inch nipple and ball valve you can open and release the suction
It's amazing how you guys can transform the landscape to look like it's always been like that.
Nice job Chris.
The Pressure on that fitting was Unbelievable. You got it Open in the End. 👍
Damn that wore me out watching you take that cap off!
This week in pond dredging, that cap not comming off easy Chris, looks like a nice job again, excavator and skid steer on the job 😲💥😲💥
You are really good at that Chris!! You sure like to take your time on doing something like that, which is a good thing. So keep up the good work.

Now I wanna know how u start the siphon. Learning a lot of brush clearing tricks from your videos and operating tricks. Love watching em
Jalenwalshak359 you pour water in where he took the cap off
Jalenwalshak359 th-cam.com/video/8lXl7tdJ7iY/w-d-xo.html
New guy has to suck-start it.
Do you have a video showing how you start that Siphon
Chris, if you wrap Teflon tape on the threads the cap comes off very easy
Looks like y’all need a long reach excavator in the Arsenal.
love your videos Chris thanks for sharing
pipe dope on plastic pipe works well and it opens easier even under pressure . sometimes a drilled and tapped schrader valve makes life easier
Go big or go home!! is what they say! At the beginning, Chris brought toooooo small of pipe wrench. he he he!!
Great job!! It’s rained here in SW MO for a week so you should have some on its way! Lol
Looks good Chris. You siphon setup is pretty slick for draining down a pond, but getting that cap off was making me tired just watching ya go in circles haha.
Drill a hole in the square part of the cap and put a 1/2" NPT plug in it. That would be much easier to take out and still breaks the suction.
Pump is hard to turn off, but it sips fuel.
Chris you did a very good job ,like you always do and for nextime use vaseline
I laughed harder than i should have at that cap lmao
Hey Chris, maybe put a 1" ball valve on top your cap there so you can break the siphon without wearing yourself out. I don't suppose you're filling the cap with a 6" hose anyway are ya?
You need to put a small tap or valve in that cap to break the pressure then it will be easy to open
Emma Ziegler vacuum
What's that pond for? If I had a pond that big I would wanna establish a whole aquatic ecosystem.
Use white lithium grease on the threads.
a little pb blaster always does the trick
Just a little bit of silicone lube goes a long way on PVC threads. No charge for the DIY tip
You showed using a siphon on a job a while back to drain a pond and I filed away that trick for the future. Amazing what you can do with a simple machine.
Vacuum pressure was making it hard to unscrew that cap?
You did what outdoors with the Morgan's did. Pretty cool.
Do all ponds need overflow drains?
Are you taking more out of the lake or is that?
I take it you're not a fan of smooth edge buckets? Seems like a smooth edge and a tilt coupler would be ideal for the work you post up.
As someone who does dredging I gotta say, that was painful to watch. Not your work, but only being able to do part of the pond. Stuff like that does my head in. Good job as always.
What’s the video Called where you finish digging this pond
Chris, would renting a wheel loader have been faster? Maybe a 2 or 3 yard bucket?
Brian Gardiner sure would have been faster. Would have made a way bigger mess in yard just because how much it wieghs
Reverse videos! Like it.
That's a nice job !
Good job ty for the entertainment
You need to add a bit of grease on the threads before sealing it.
you really should put signs around the pit because I bet theres kids that co me down there and snow fences wont stop them. I have seen those pits swallow many deer. especially when its fresh some idiot could easily go over the fence and disappear
What was the point in just dredging out that little bit of the back end of the pond? Figure if you're in there they'd want to dredge more of it.

Thanks for the video.
I SEE YOUR PRAYING AS YOUR TAKING THE CAP OFF!!!
Don't blame Him, he didn't put it in
I'm sorry, but I was laughing so hard, while you was working so hard on the cap. I was thinking, get the excavator and take it off. Lol
with that suction out of the lake how do you get it started
will meldrum Chris has a video somewhere in his playlist showing how he starts them. Dam, I am dizzy and out of breath just watching you.
Good video. Thanks.

They needed to let you pull 3x to 4x what you pulled out of that pond or just let you do the whole thing. You will be back next year.
Nothing like using the old meat hammer on a wrench!
What’s the One machine y’all just can’t do without.
Yeah she'll take a while to dry out thats for sure!
A touch of silicon grease...like at a pool supply.
Three words: cheater pipe.
Well, that was two but you get the idea.
Vacume created by water draining made it tight
Dang it Justin you're wearing me out watching.
I know it's hard sometimes but please don't take the Ĺords name in vein. It's not a curse word, by all means ask for his help.
Let me finish your prayer... Jesus Christ give me strength. Amen.
Would that be considered a foot valve😂
OOOOOF. Tedious.
did u not hear the vacumn coming out of the cap
first time here , can someone hire you to do a job, thanks
A video about pond dredging...but video of actual dredging being done. 😔 Too bad.
Chris I meant.
So...you watch Sargon too?
