Being an ex sex worker I was shocked at the amount of knowledge this man of God possessed. His description of the emotional trauma sex workers endure was so on point it brought tears to my eyes. I never thought a man could emphasize with a prostitute and assess the mental agony a woman or man goes through when they sale Gods Holy temple! HAT OFF TO THIS MAN OF GOD! Thank you for letting the work know sex workers are valued in Gods Kingdom!!!

I was homeless an hit my rock bottom earlier this year sleeping in my truck in the lower ninth ward of New Orleans next moment sold some paintings from outside of my truck. Met some major Japanese CEO, year later I got an email sent to me with a business meeting trip to Japan and now I have a studio in Japan and my prices have increased significantly. I have the funding and resources now. And it’s amazing cuz Christ saved me from my old path from coming back to me. New Orleans opened a can of worms for me but it was significantly the best path I could have chose. It launched me to a better path since I had to witness corruption and atrocities committed consistently.

I remember back in 2014 listening to your music and through that finding a relationship with God. If I’m being honest, through that time as I was growing I did come to a point of judging you like many other and then rejecting you. Since then I’ve had my own falling out, including leaving a church and backsliding into the world. I just want to say as I’m on a path to getting back to where I belong, Im truly sorry. I’ve come to realize a lot in life, and I just want to say I’m sorry.

Lol, it is such a common thing that the minute we think we have "accumulated "merits" before God and begin to judge the brothers and sisters, it won't be long till Our Lord allows our own fall. Like, whenever we see (or have been) a person that is at that point be sure it's about to get ugly for such person. But it is for our own good as you show with your repentance here. This life IS school and sometimes we just fail the exam, but remember Mary Magdalene's way of adressing Our Lord was "Rabboni!" which means "My Master",, "My Teacher". As long as we're kept alive down here we can always take the exam again and finally succeed at it, with His grace.

@@AbcDef-fh8zz hi. The slavery that he is talking about is not confined to one specific definition of slavery. It can also relate to years of narcissistic abuse, or being brainwashed, psychological abuse, manipulation, the list goes on... it all has the end result of being trapped mentally, having severe mental health issues, and can lead to ideation😢. Those who can relate to the statement do not view it as untrue. It is not quick or easy to recover from such things.

Yes Lecrae thank for clarifying that Gods Grace is sufficient at the End. I’m in a situation right now where I came to a point in my life where I was so afraid of rejection to confess my guilt and shame I held for years to my wife. I confessed to being molested as a child and having watching X rated things during times in my marriage. But my wife use that confession to Shame me even more and didn’t want to Reconcile even though God deliver me from it Months earlier. She in the process of filing for divorce because I hid this from her and I’m about to loose my family. I prayed and prayed that she would find Grace to reconcile our 19 year marriage just no Grace from her. But Thank You Jesus for taking all our Burdens to the Cross for ultimate redemption in Christ.
Lecrae Help Pray for Me Bro Please!!Divorce would be a Whole new Shame a very Broken place for a Confession I thought she would Forgive me and work it out.

I'm so so sorry for this! I just got divorced because my husband divorced me. We had rough times but I found out he had been watching x-rated things our entire marriage. This spiraled him badly and he never came to me like you did your wife. I had already caught some things before but then during the divorce found out how bad off he was. All I wanted was him to be truthful and we work on it. I forgave him but he chose the other side and divorced me. I wish he had done what you did. But men need to realize that where you all may think it's just your secret or not that bad....it absolutely is terrible. On and off I was having bad dreams or feeling a lack of peace about my husband when we were married. Then, when we would be out, he started having a really hard time keeping his eyes off women even right in front of me. It was a form of abuse that the enemy had him trapped which damaged me. He, too, experienced sexual perversion as a child. It's sad he couldn't overcome it as of now, but at least I sleep in peace. I don't have fear of "what is my husband going to do next?"" And although I prayed for him every single day, God allowed him to depart from me. God knows better even though there is still a bit of sadness. But now I do have peace.

''that is a moment that cost you something but you are not defined by it''... woo! say it now. This reminded of my pastor's sermon last Sunday, about the 6 different types of pride. 1. self-exaltation (giving credit to yourself) 2.self-promotion (looking to be praised by others) 3.self-justification (expects agreement from God based on your feelings) 4. self-degradation (tearing yourself down and being so self-absorbed) 5.self-demotion (compares self to others) 6. self-condemnation. (pride judges itself, beat yourself down)

Sanctification, dying to self is painful but the Holy Spirit will help.
Go to Him broken and He'll fix you to live a consecrated life.
A good few habits that could change your life is reading the Bible everyday.
5 to 10 chapters. Start with the New Testament if you like and ask the Holy Spirt to read with you.
Just read as you would read a book the major difference being this is a Living Book.
That Book will read you back and convict you. You will meet Jesus the Living Word who is able to transform your mind and totally renew your heart.
Just go to Him as a little child. Trust Him.

So "Comfortable" with the embracing of this piece. Especially the different levels of cultural understanding and acceptance. You can take the individual out of the hood, but it takes a minute to take the hood out of the individual. Spot on. I needed this, because for many many years I have not identified with black. But i have embraced the African American culture. It becomes easier to see myself as people who are no longer here, as a fiber of the fabric of who I am today. Life stripped identity from me, I gained my identity back when I received Christ. This is so beautiful to see, embrace and be witness too. And this makes me think about places to visit in the future as I continue to build, many places I would love to see in Georgia. The Underground Railroad, the church that it's in. And seeing the area where people paved a way. I don't fit in the standard culture of African American, but I am adopting so many things that are another design. I can relate to your story with the prostitution. Unfortunately being a woman, I was on the other side, but I am grateful that I could've, should've, would've... But didn't. That was a curse that was said to me I would only be good for. So I stopped having sex. I'd rather hang it up. And if it's God's will, I will give it to my husband. But as of right now I was abstinent but now I practice celibacy. It's not easy. So I am very discerning now. Prayer is paramount. Because this way that has been so evident in society, is almost expectant. I can't have anymore children. But I'm blessed to have 3 beautiful sons. And there are role models available for them to hear. These stigmas on the African American man, I come against them daily. I refuse for them to live by the worlds standards, but to live by who God called them to be, In His image, creators, trusted with the plans for creation... Stay blessed and in His grace. And thank you for holding my hand in the deep end. 🙏🏽🕊️

Thank you for explaining your path from childhood. I think people think that everyone can break out of the cycle their parents made. Not true. Even "privileged" kids follow their parents patterns. Suburban kids, following their parents patterns. Kids in the hood, also follow the patterns they see and experience in their life from parents, guardians, and neighborhoods. So, we really are not so different. So, when someone says to "Pick yourself up by your bootstraps", they are stating it like they themselves did that, when in reality they never have. They just follow the pattern before them. Not an accuse, but true. Anywho, thanks Lecrae for sharing your story and breaking the cycle.

I completely agree... I have not experienced that much unity as you have in our community... not even among family... and when there was unity it was conditional... sometimes aggressive and the love of money ruined everything... As for isolation... totally agree... unless you are getting detox from the world and other things you cling to for a season so you can just spend time with God alone... sometimes to know who you are... you gotta remove every other mirror except HIM... So I think it's seasonal and based on where you are at and the necessity of isolation at that point and then seasons of greater interaction and service...

There need to be episodes on how the black mother has failed her black boys, even in the Christian community. How some mothers have a disdain for their sons, they coddle them, and or make them their son-husband. Yes, black Christian mothers doing this to their sons.

Doctors and billionaires are no better than anyone else - I wouldn't shed a tear for being myself. If Jesus made a point in the gospels it was everyone more-or-less has the same opportunity to make it into heaven (Matthew 13:31-43, 7:21-23.) What we see today as the 'righteous groups' and the streets is nothing but a periodic illusion. Selflessness and dedication are valuable in any culture, city or suburb.

    Black person here…
While you were out there thinking going to prison is a right of passage and that studying to be a doctor was difficult and just about impossible
I was thinking I would rather these books kills me because of the amount of studying I was going to put in, than being in the streets acting up. The streets was never a thing for me.

You are basically living out Colossians 2:14 NKJV: having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
Our sins are forgiven and God does not remember them.
I'm glad that such conversations like this can be had. Really encouraging to see Lecrae embrace the realities of who he is in Christ. Inspiring to other believers to say the least. ❤

So what about feeling that way and growing up like that and being white? Growing up in the hood so broke eating out of trash cans. Growing up around majority black and Mexican people in California how you think it was for me when majority of black people think like this? Just wanting to be accepted by my PEERS but not being accepted because of the color of my skin. I thank God He doesn't see color and my husband didn't either. He is black and he sees my struggles Growing up in the hood and doesn't minimize it just because I'm white. Absolutely love your podcast but the beginning of this one is so closed minded and puts everyone in a box.
