Phyllis Diller joke from the 1966 record album Live At The Hungry Eye, a comedy club in San Francisco: "I asked my hairdresser what I could put to my hair to make it better and he said... 'a match' ".

She may have not been a Beatnik herself, but she started off in that fragile, Bay Area, intellectual scene being somewhat seriously comical, before discovering her gonzo alter-ego.

I loved her humor, especially when she talked about her mother in law. I loved Joan Rivers too.

For old time female comedians, Phyllis Diller, Joan Rivers and Gilda Radner were hilarious. What women were doing what they were doing in the 1960's and 70's? Very few. There was Mary Tyler Moore, Carol Burnette and Laverne and Shirley, but who else before SNL and the 1980's, and besides Roseanne, these were the OG's. Obviously, Lucille Ball, but I preferred Diller and Joan Rivers.

She had A LOT of plastic surgery.
Not that it’s bad she looked so different.
