Good Question! The brief is a quick synopsis of the project given to you when you’re assigned to the project so you can then beginning developing a project plan/schedule. You don’t create the brief. Different companies may use a different term than “brief” The charter is a formal document to set the project in motion. More detailed/specific than a brief. EX: A brief might say we need a project manager and developer but the charter provides the actual name of those people. You may or may not be responsible for developing the charter based on how things are structured at your job. Hope this helps provide clarity.

So, (WBS) and Project Brief are terms I haven't heard of yet! Is there Charter and Brief the same thing?

Thank you for this clarification but I’m a bit confused, who normally creates the project charter? I thought it would be the Project manger.
