I suffered years later after service in Thailand … specifically RTAFB Nam Phong … malenomas. One was removed out of my back that was the size of an apricot. I have pictures of it. I filed with the VA doctor exposure in our base in Thailand.
I spent two tours (69,70 and 71) Working mostly in the Preload area at U Tapao. We worked at the perimeter area of the base as were all of the munitions areas on the bases. I had boils removed, acne on my back, a melanoma on my arm (still there) and just had a melanoma removed from my brain. I was also part of Project 100,00, which makes me a pariah to the VA. 51 years of being ignored and I will probably die without ever being heard.

While stationed at Travis AFB (89) the base started cleaning up hazardous waste thoughout the base and set up a facility to store and remove waste from the base. A drum of agent orange was found that had rotted open and was contained and removed.I worked at this facility.

They called them “UNDETERMINED ORGANISM”, or Group B Disease, or Group A Streptococcus, or Rashes, or Lesions, or Skin Disease, or Irregular Heart Beat, or a dozen other things, but none of what they list as presumptive. All done for one reason, to deny all C & P and Service Connection…..

I am working with DAV on my claim for Agent Or Exposure. Got the runaround from VA for decades. I suggest checking with Disabled Veteran's, or your local VFW. Ea. of these + numerous Veterans will tell you the VA does not care one iota, and sucks.
I recently discovered the warehouse I worked in Vietnam, stored Agent Orange. I worked there for 18 months. 82-83 In Korea. Camp Essayons they used it all over the camp. I have many of these problems diagnosed by the VA. Hypothyroid, peripheral Neuropathy, small fiber neuropathy, myocardia, hypertension and serious skin rashes. Denied on all of them.
I served at Pleiku, Central Highlands, Vietnam in June 1969 until mid 1970. I was diagnosed with agent orange in 1999. My daughter’s doctor at Kaiser hospital in San Carlos, California has declared that she has no claim for agent orange. Thyroid cancer, and a few miscarriages. At the age of 43, she finally had a daughter in January 2023. The early onset classification for Peripheral Neuropathy is crap. I knew nothing about the problems caused by Agent Orange until 30 years after leaving the military and Vietnam. I was told records from my civilian doctor during that time would be acceptable. The problem for me and I would guess many other Vietnam vets who suffer from this problem is those doctors are dead and their records destroyed. This neuropathy not only causes tingling, cold feeling and pain, but it causes loss of balance as well and who knows what other problems. Those veterans suffering from Peripheral Neuropathy got hosed on the VA's determination for this Agent Orange caused problem.
They didn't give me my effective date I filed TDIU which was 2010 instead they only went back to 2021? I have my original filing. Why didn't thye go back to the beginning?
I was tested by local VA for Agent Orange Registry and they said I had no exposure. Fact: was at DaNang AB, 1966, I worked in Base Operations on flight line, C-123 Ranch Hand aircraft (AO sprayers) were parked nearby, later moved two buildings off ramp. We worked rotating shifts, lived in tents in Camp DaNang. My VA claim for Agent Orange was denied in late 1980s. My severe Peripheral Neuropathy wasn't diagnosed till late 1990s, I thought lack of feeling in feet was aging even thought detected around age 25. I also served at U-Tapao and NKP airbases in Thailand in 1966-67 and 1972 and intend to apply at claim for it. Denied claims state after a year you can't reapply or they ask if you accept the denial that the Board gave if you did reapply within a year. Comments welcome.
I was in Panama in 1967 and 68 and I KNOW FOR A FACT that agent Orange was used there. We saw burnt foliage at a beach we used to go to on time off. And there are tons of information on the internet about it. I worked on C-130B models and saw barrels of it on board.
I was a heavy construction mechanic a CM3 Seabee. I suffer with lung disease for years. The problem is it didn't really show up to years later. Chronic pneumonia, bronchitis and eventually Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis which lead to a lung transplant 9 months ago 50+ years after active Duty. A life long post military ailments that never had before. Lung Disease, Chronic pneumonia & bronchitis, high blood pressure,restless leg sindrome Winding up with a lung transplant. Was told none of this points towards military service. Mostly off the coast of Vietnam shuttled in and out to work on machines. Not enough documented paper work to confirm anything with boots on ground. Was also told if the lung problem was cancer I could probably have a claim so I just gave up wasting my time.

A lot of discussion about presumption of service connection in relation to agent Orange exposures. I was very much interested on any claims of service connection for soldiers stationed in Germany from the 70’s to late 1980’s who were expose to radioactive materials & ionizing radiation while working as first responders to any radioactive release due to training or accidental release of radioactive materials. I understand that the effects of exposures to radioactivity & ionizing radiation also took a long time to manifest and many medical conditions maybe presumed as service connected.What was the VA’s position regarding disability presumption for personnel who were assigned to handle the radioactive materials and were exposed in performing their tasks. My unit in Landsthul, Germany, USA Nuclear Medica Research(1972- 1973) was one of the few first responders unit that handles the instruments, personnel training & assessment of radioactivity when radioactive materials were accidentally or intentionally released.
I'm curious about radiation too! I was stationed for a year at Pirinclik Installation, Diyarbakir, Turkey during the 1985/86 frame. We were a radar site with two gigantic fan type antennas and a huge dish antenna. We were told that the radiation emitted by the antennas wasn't affecting us, but it's strange how hundreds of birds were dying on the base every day. Now, and for the past 20 years I have suffered greatly from aches and pains that medicine don't seem to help. I would like to find out if others who were stationed at places like that is having health issues similar to mine.

BOOTS ON GROUND “ in 1983, and the VA agreed and presumed I was Exposed to Agent Orange, then flat denied my claims. The AO Exam was not totally either. My was caused by I was hospitalized again at RSAH, RedStone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama in February 1972, two months after I had requested my I was never assisted or even given any medical treatment records for the evidence needed.

I returned from Vietnam in October 1969 and was stationed at Ft McClellan and assigned to Noble Army Hospital until April 1971. From what I understand, the Citizen’s of Anniston were compensated from Monsanto because of basically making the city a toxic waste dump. In my case I’ve been exposed to agent orange twice while serving in the Army. I won’t bore you with my health problems, but I’ve had share!!!
Any Coast Guard members coming in here, I am a USCG Vietnam combat Veteran. For the past 20 years I have been following Agent Orange and how the VA handles Vets who have been exposed (aka "put on the presumptive list" of exposure to Agent Orange"). A few years back ALL USCG VESSELS that served in Vietnam were designated to have served in "brown water." (Prior to this all-encompassing designation the VA went unit by unit to designate if a USCG vessel served in brown or blue water.) Why does this matter for us? Let's assume you are diagnosed with one of the maladies on the VA's presumptive list as caused by Agent Orange. Also assume that for whatever reason you do not have medical insurance or it is inadequate (your policy lapses, you are in between jobs, you forgot to pay the bill, you are poor, you got the tin-level insurance policy, whatever). Because you served in Vietnam, and your malady is on the presumptive list as it having been caused by Agent Orange, you are now entitled to the best FREE medical care our nation provides in the private sector (doctors who work in the VA system are some of the finest MDs around. E.g., I am in San Francisco. The doctors at my local VAMC are professors at the med schools, chiefs of surgery, and have impressive curriculum vitæ. So if you qualify (a Coastie who served in Vietnam) go online and sign up for the VA's "Agent Orange Registry." Then get enrolled in the VA healthcare system. You want them to issue you the super valuable VA Healthcare Enrollee ID card. All this costs you nothing and it is easy to get signed up. Bonus Tip: Visit your local "Veterans Service Office," they will handle everything for you. And because the VA pays for these offices, most states and counties have one. P.S. To my fellow Coasties: In the past few years I have known about or come across our mates who have contracted the maladies associated with Agent Orange. So sadly, yes, our exposure and damage therefrom has been CONFIRMED. Personally, I have had problems on the list, and now that the 2022 PACT Act added hypertension as a presumed disease caused by exposure to Agent Orange, I can add that to my list of Agent Orange maladies.
I was part of search and recovery team in mid to late 90s all over vietnam, laos, cambodia, etc. Definately qualify for 'boots on ground" as our teams dug up soil contaminated with agent orange and sifted it through screens in order to find remains, artifacts...just wondering of this would be considered a 'condition' by va?

I was theBase Photographer on U-Tapao back in 1967/68 and that revetment area that you talked about had an accidental Explosion... there was a Thai man working on a K-loader stacking 500 lb bombs. there was a chain reaction... 1 bomb bumped into the next and the whole revetment Blew Up. I was sitting at the Beer Garden more than a mile away and the roof fell in due to the concussion ! I spent the next few days taking thousands of pictures of the damage. There was a hole in the ground nearly 75 feet deep and maybe 200 feet wide ! Fun days ! Kinda weird... just last week I threw out about 50 old 8x10in black and white prints that I had of that exact thing !

Agent Orange was used by US Coast Guard ATON crews for clearing Kudzo from navigational markers on the rivers in the Southern States along with other herbicides. I believe one VA claim was approved.
What about U.S residents living around the Mississippi river and all the area that the Mississippi river has touched swamps etcetera, and the recipients of produce grown/canned and shipped out of Mississippi state
Back in 1970 through 1971 i was assigned to a small unit on the west coast with the responsibility of destroying and or recycling returning Vietnam Jungle fatigues the ware house had bins of these rags. I had notice that after the Iraq war these uniforms were destroyed in Iraq but this was not the case with Vietnam. I have a heart condition, diabetes, thyroid. Do I qualify under the Pact Act. Who now would want to enlist in the service of a country that doesn't give a damn enough about their soldiers who make sure their rich hind ends are safe. Why does it take 10-15 years to get a settlement. I enlisted to go into service during the Vietnam War. I love my country, just have little faith in the VA!!!
What about storage? Camp Pendleton is a super fund site. Especially the flight line where I was stationed in 1994 to 98 I was told I may have been exposed to DDT exc. in the chow hall water. Barracks water, and HMLA 267 hanger. Jackson and MacNichol in Maine told me they only have water records to 1985.
I’ve been turned down three times now even though they claim there’s no dispute that I was there but the dispute is that I was not security police but my barracks was well within 100 feet of the perimeter still fighting this I really do believe they want me to be dead before I’m done claiming this least that’s the way it seems

I have filed a claim for Agent Orange Diabetes Benefits. The VA has Veterans Evaluation Services doing all my testing. VES has my name spelled incorrectly (both 1st & last). I have spoken with them 3 times about this and cannot get them to correct the spelling. Anyone know of where I can go to get this corrected? It is not that mysterious. Remember that you have to show that he was there, then that he is diagnosed with the problem and then they just want to see that he still has the problem for verification thus the c&p. the "Presumption" only replaces the nexus.
My husband had chronic lukema . His name was Christian Joseph Schmoll . I lost him in 2008. Everything he died from was service connected he was 100percent service and 100percent disabled . Can I get his agent Orange claim that wasn't listed. I get a DIC pension. There were some conditions that wasn't approved when they compensated me the first time.

1971 i was in bankok waiting for my ship. The ship uss oklahoma city clg5 also had r &r for us in bankok tialand. To go to bankok you had to go to main gate in order for ride to bankok. Note it was a air force b 52 base. Dosent it show exposure to us . Also our deck log shows i was on the ship 71 to 74 off coast less than 12 miles which exsposed me to agent orange. Have claim but hasn't been approved yet. I have hart issues.

How was the driver in Vietnam for a year and we was all over the place I was not there when they was actually spraying it but when we were on convoys we would stop in a supposed safe area and we would actually go swimming in bomb craters. Since that time I have had bladder cancer that was removed and I just found out a couple of weeks ago that I have some kind of cancer under my left eyelid

What about those of us that trained at Ft McClellan which was then later closed due to contamination, then served on Johnston Island Hawaii ? Is there any hope for those of us that spent time on that contaminated island ?! I have yet to find any success stories with regards to claims even though its clearly admitted that the island was severely contaminated and still there is no recognizing our claims….
I was also on Johnson Island for a week in 1983 on a tow boat hauling large barges for the navy with supplies going to Vietnam . VA told me that the war was over and I could not use that for any thing that I have there was three of us men from the crew of the boat walking all around the Island looking for fresh water we did not have any protective gear on and we were told that we was going to glow in the dark.

I have been REFUSED being able to file anything for decades even though my children have birth defects, my spouses had miscarriages, etc. and therefore the VA can simply IGNORE all that times that I TRIED to file my claims.
Right you are. I (tried) working through the VA for almost 20 years! "Deny, deny, deny 'till you Die", is the general motto. Four month ago a Navy neighbor took me to a VFW meeting and turned me on to an Adjudant of the District D.A.V. The Adjudant USED to work in the VA. Quit because he was Disgustted by how much the VA screwed the Veterans and how little the VA cared. Have now gained 20% in Disability rating and the DAV are still digging. Suggest get with DAV, present your case, don't lie, You are likely to LIKE the results. Doesn't matter how for back your incident happened, mine originated in 1967, Da'Nang Area.
My 72 yo husband served on blue waters in 1974, filed for agent orange benefit in June 2017 but denied, w hypothyroidism since 2012, was nehmer rated in 2021 and last year was diagnosed w enlargement of the heart and hypertension. Twelve miles seems to be an arbitrary number. What about a vet who has served off the coast of Vietnam, but not within the twelve mile limit, and has developed one of the conditions.
We do agree 12 miles seems rather arbitrary. If you're not within the zone, there may be other ways to obtain service connection. In one of the included clips, attorneys Brian Hill and Carol Ponton do talk about getting service connected benefits through other common types of harmful chemical exposure like JP-4 Jet fuel, asbestos, etc.

Im waitg on appeal appt time w judge. On record husb died 2002 on fiull disability for years before for full disability due to issues from onland 2years station in vietnam on land 67 to 68 during war. I spent two tours (69,70 and 71) Working mostly in the Preload area at U Tapao. We worked at the perimeter area of the base as were all of the munitions areas on the bases. I had boils removed, acne on my back, a melanoma on my arm (still there) and just had a melanoma removed from my brain. I was also part of Project 100,00, which makes me a pariah to the VA. 51 years of being ignored and I will probably die without ever being heard.

You need to challenge that denial! There could be multiple options on how, but best to consult with someone that knows how to guide you. You get it?
While stationed at Travis AFB (89) the base started cleaning up hazardous waste thoughout the base and set up a facility to store and remove waste from the base. A drum of agent orange was found that had rotted open and was contained and removed.I worked at this facility.

They called them “UNDETERMINED ORGANISM”, or Group B Disease, or Group A Streptococcus, or Rashes, or Lesions, or Skin Disease, or Irregular Heart Beat, or a dozen other things, but none of what they list as presumptive. All done for one reason, to deny all C & P and Service Connection…..

I am working with DAV on my claim for Agent Or Exposure. Got the runaround from VA for decades. I suggest checking with Disabled Veteran's, or your local VFW. Ea. of these + numerous Veterans will tell you the VA does not care one iota, and sucks.
I recently discovered the warehouse I worked in Vietnam, stored Agent Orange. I worked there for 18 months. 82-83 In Korea. Camp Essayons they used it all over the camp. I have many of these problems diagnosed by the VA. Hypothyroid, peripheral Neuropathy, small fiber neuropathy, myocardia, hypertension and serious skin rashes. Denied on all of them.
I served at Pleiku, Central Highlands, Vietnam in June 1969 until mid 1970. I was diagnosed with agent orange in 1999. My daughter’s doctor at Kaiser hospital in San Carlos, California has declared that she has no claim for agent orange. Thyroid cancer, and a few miscarriages. At the age of 43, she finally had a daughter in January 2023. The early onset classification for Peripheral Neuropathy is crap. I knew nothing about the problems caused by Agent Orange until 30 years after leaving the military and Vietnam. I was told records from my civilian doctor during that time would be acceptable. The problem for me and I would guess many other Vietnam vets who suffer from this problem is those doctors are dead and their records destroyed. This neuropathy not only causes tingling, cold feeling and pain, but it causes loss of balance as well and who knows what other problems. Those veterans suffering from Peripheral Neuropathy got hosed on the VA's determination for this Agent Orange caused problem.

I was tested by local VA for Agent Orange Registry and they said I had no exposure. Fact: was at DaNang AB, 1966, I worked in Base Operations on flight line, C-123 Ranch Hand aircraft (AO sprayers) were parked nearby, later moved two buildings off ramp. We worked rotating shifts, lived in tents in Camp DaNang. My VA claim for Agent Orange was denied in late 1980s. My severe Peripheral Neuropathy wasn't diagnosed till late 1990s, I thought lack of feeling in feet was aging even thought detected around age 25. I also served at U-Tapao and NKP airbases in Thailand in 1966-67 and 1972 and intend to apply at claim for it. Denied claims state after a year you can't reapply or they ask if you accept the denial that the Board gave if you did reapply within a year. Comments welcome.
I was in Panama in 1967 and 68 and I KNOW FOR A FACT that agent Orange was used there. We saw burnt foliage at a beach we used to go to on time off. And there are tons of information on the internet about it. I worked on C-130B models and saw barrels of it on board.
I was a heavy construction mechanic a CM3 Seabee. I suffer with lung disease for years. The problem is it didn't really show up to years later. Chronic pneumonia, bronchitis and eventually Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis which lead to a lung transplant 9 months ago 50+ years after active Duty. A life long post military ailments that never had before. Lung Disease, Chronic pneumonia & bronchitis, high blood pressure,restless leg sindrome
Winding up with a lung transplant. Was told none of this points towards military service. Mostly off the coast of Vietnam shuttled in and out to work on machines. Not enough documented paper work to confirm anything with boots on ground.
Was also told if the lung problem was cancer I could probably have a claim so I just gave up wasting my time.

A lot of discussion about presumption of service connection in relation to agent Orange exposures. I was very much interested on any claims of service connection for soldiers stationed in Germany from the 70’s to late 1980’s who were expose to radioactive materials & ionizing radiation while working as first responders to any radioactive release due to training or accidental release of radioactive materials. I understand that the effects of exposures to radioactivity & ionizing radiation also took a long time to manifest and many medical conditions maybe presumed as service connected.What was the VA’s position regarding disability presumption for personnel who were assigned to handle the radioactive materials and were exposed in performing their tasks. My unit in Landsthul, Germany, USA Nuclear Medica Research(1972- 1973) was one of the few first responders unit that handles the instruments,
personnel training & assessment of radioactivity when radioactive materials were accidentally or intentionally released.
I'm curious about radiation too! I was stationed for a year at Pirinclik Installation, Diyarbakir, Turkey during the 1985/86 frame. We were a radar site with two gigantic fan type antennas and a huge dish antenna. We were told that the radiation emitted by the antennas wasn't affecting us, but it's strange how hundreds of birds were dying on the base every day. Now, and for the past 20 years I have suffered greatly from aches and pains that medicine don't seem to help. I would like to find out if others who were stationed at places like that is having health issues similar to mine.

Any Coast Guard members coming in here, I am a USCG Vietnam combat Veteran. For the past 20 years I have been following Agent Orange and how the VA handles Vets who have been exposed (aka "put on the presumptive list" of exposure to Agent Orange").
A few years back ALL USCG VESSELS that served in Vietnam were designated to have served in "brown water." (Prior to this all-encompassing designation the VA went unit by unit to designate if a USCG vessel served in brown or blue water.)
Why does this matter for us? Let's assume you are diagnosed with one of the maladies on the VA's presumptive list as caused by Agent Orange. Also assume that for whatever reason you do not have medical insurance or it is inadequate (your policy lapses, you are in between jobs, you forgot to pay the bill, you are poor, you got the tin-level insurance policy, whatever). Because you served in Vietnam, and your malady is on the presumptive list as it having been caused by Agent Orange, you are now entitled to the best FREE medical care our nation provides in the private sector (doctors who work in the VA system are some of the finest MDs around. E.g., I am in San Francisco. The doctors at my local VAMC are professors at the med schools, chiefs of surgery, and have impressive curriculum vitæ.
So if you qualify (a Coastie who served in Vietnam) go online and sign up for the VA's "Agent Orange Registry." Then get enrolled in the VA healthcare system. You want them to issue you the super valuable VA Healthcare Enrollee ID card. All this costs you nothing and it is easy to get signed up.
Bonus Tip: Visit your local "Veterans Service Office," they will handle everything for you. And because the VA pays for these offices, most states and counties have one.
P.S. To my fellow Coasties: In the past few years I have known about or come across our mates who have contracted the maladies associated with Agent Orange. So sadly, yes, our exposure and damage therefrom has been CONFIRMED. Personally, I have had problems on the list, and now that the 2022 PACT Act added hypertension as a presumed disease caused by exposure to Agent Orange, I can add that to my list of Agent Orange maladies.
I was part of search and recovery team in mid to late 90s all over vietnam, laos, cambodia, etc. Definately qualify for 'boots on ground" as our teams dug up soil contaminated with agent orange and sifted it through screens in order to find remains, artifacts...just wondering of this would be considered a 'condition' by va?

I was theBase Photographer on U-Tapao back in 1967/68 and that revetment area that you talked about had an accidental Explosion... there was a Thai man working on a K-loader stacking 500 lb bombs. there was a chain reaction... 1 bomb bumped into the next and the whole revetment Blew Up. I was sitting at the Beer Garden more than a mile away and the roof fell in due to the concussion ! I spent the next few days taking thousands of pictures of the damage. There was a hole in the ground nearly 75 feet deep and maybe 200 feet wide !
Fun days ! Kinda weird... just last week I threw out about 50 old 8x10in black and white prints that I had of that exact thing !

Who now would want to enlist in the service of a country that doesn't give a damn enough about their soldiers who make sure their rich hind ends are safe. Why does it take 10-15 years to get a settlement. I enlisted to go into service during the Vietnam War. I love my country, just have little faith in the VA!!!
What about storage? Camp Pendleton is a super fund site. Especially the flight line where I was stationed in 1994 to 98 I was told I may have been exposed to DDT exc. in the chow hall water. Barracks water, and HMLA 267 hanger. Jackson and MacNichol in Maine told me they only have water records to 1985.
I’ve been turned down three times now even though they claim there’s no dispute that I was there but the dispute is that I was not security police but my barracks was well within 100 feet of the perimeter still fighting this I really do believe they want me to be dead before I’m done claiming this least that’s the way it seems

I have filed a claim for Agent Orange Diabetes Benefits. The VA has Veterans Evaluation Services doing all my testing. VES has my name spelled incorrectly (both 1st & last). I have spoken with them 3 times about this and cannot get them to correct the spelling. Anyone know of where I can go to get this corrected? It is not that mysterious. Remember that you have to show that he was there, then that he is diagnosed with the problem and then they just want to see that he still has the problem for verification thus the c&p. the "Presumption" only replaces the nexus.

My husband had chronic lukema . His name was Christian Joseph Schmoll . I lost him in 2008. Everything he died from was service connected he was 100percent service and 100percent disabled . Can I get his agent Orange claim that wasn't listed. I get a DIC pension. There were some conditions that wasn't approved when they compensated me the first time.
What if my husband was denied for a couple of illnesses. But he was still rated 100%. He passed almost 2 years ago with service connected. Is there anything I should be filing for on his behalf as a surviving spouse?

1971 i was in bankok waiting for my ship. The ship uss oklahoma city clg5 also had r &r for us in bankok tialand. To go to bankok you had to go to main gate in order for ride to bankok. Note it was a air force b 52 base. Dosent it show exposure to us . Also our deck log shows i was on the ship 71 to 74 off coast less than 12 miles which exsposed me to agent orange. How was the driver in Vietnam for a year and we was all over the place I was not there when they was actually spraying it but when we were on convoys we would stop in a supposed safe area and we would actually go swimming in bomb craters. Since that time I have had bladder cancer that was removed and I just found out a couple of weeks ago that I have some kind of cancer under my left eyelid

You probably do not need a Lawyer. Check with nearest Disabled American Veterans Office. It's Free. They CARE, and they have "Muscle" in dealing with Organizations (VA), who deny veterans and spouces their earned and deserved benefits.

I was also on Johnson Island for a week in 1983 on a tow boat hauling large barges for the navy with supplies going to Vietnam . VA told me that the war was over and I could not use that for any thing that I have there was three of us men from the crew of the boat walking all around the Island looking for fresh water we did not have any protective gear on and we were told that we was going to glow in the dark.

I have been REFUSED being able to file anything for decades even though my children have birth defects, my spouses had miscarriages, etc. and therefore the VA can simply IGNORE all that times that I TRIED to file my claims.
Right you are. I (tried) working through the VA for almost 20 years! "Deny, deny, deny 'till you Die", is the general motto. Four month ago a Navy neighbor took me to a VFW meeting and turned me on to an Adjudant of the District D.A.V. The Adjudant USED to work in the VA. Quit because he was Disgustted by how much the VA screwed the Veterans and how little the VA cared. Have now gained 20% in Disability rating and the DAV are still digging. Suggest get with DAV, present your case, don't lie, You are likely to LIKE the results. Doesn't matter how for back your incident happened, mine originated in 1967, Da'Nang Area.

There is a big difference between REFUSED to file and a denied claim.
My 72 yo husband served on blue waters in 1974, filed for agent orange benefit in June 2017 but denied, w hypothyroidism since 2012, was nehmer rated in 2021 and last year was diagnosed w enlargement of the heart and hypertension. He’s already 100% rated disability. Will he get a % of back pay since he filed 6yrs ago? Pls advise.

Twelve miles seems to be an arbitrary number. What about a vet who has served off the coast of Vietnam, but not within the twelve mile limit, and has developed one of the conditions.
We do agree 12 miles seems rather arbitrary. If you're not within the zone, there may be other ways to obtain service connection. In one of the included clips, attorneys Brian Hill and Carol Ponton do talk about getting service connected benefits through other common types of harmful chemical exposure like JP-4 Jet fuel, asbestos, etc.

Im waitg on appeal appt time w judge. On record husb died 2002 on fiull disability for years before for full disability due to issues from onland 2years station in vietnam on land 67 to 68 during war. That year died 02 VA has my denied app for dic benefits n even on death certificate exact cause was heart issues now included as known sympton. I reapplied 2019 and all reps claim shcked i was denied again. I filed appeal from decision n granted a date which still waitg sibce 2020. 2grwn kids n one ididnt know va could paid college n when i married n he died i was early 20s now im early 40s. VA say navyblue bill n new bills qualified for sure even tho husband was fighting them all his life n they acknowledged symptons is what permitted him full disability. I was shocked denied n hope appeal is granted approval of survivor benefits. VA says they got all med recs n he also died at VA hospital dallas with for heart failure which was forseen with heart surgeries n pacemakers n meds. I remember plenty arguing on agent oramge n when he died n i was denied dic benefits i let it go n the hardship raising kids i chose 2019 to fight it n reapply n the state if approved they owe me back from when i applied 2022
