My TOP 10 Must Learn Capoeira Moves

  • เผยแพร่เมื่อ 9 ม.ค. 2017
  • This is a small guide/tutorial on how to do and perform some capoeira exercises.
The Following is my recommended top 10 capoeira moves you must learn to perfection, they are fundamentals in order to have a good capoeira base, however these exercises only represent my personal view and advice.
These exercises do not represent the entire capoeira community all groups have their own techniques and philosophies also names of moves might change from group to group.
Important note: Before attempting to learn Capoeira you should seek profesional help Could be a Capoeira Master or a qualified teacher with ten proper aval from his respective Master, Capoeira is a serious discipline that involves tradition and history and fundamentals, these are passed from Master to student and so on.
    Lets get to work.
    1. GINGA Is the most important move, Ginga is the fight stand for Capoeira, it develops body control in both sides of the body.
    2. ARMADA Is an spinning technique that with the right control is a great kick to lure the opponent into a most efficient Capoeira kick.
    3. QUEIXADA Is a kick that focus on breaking the opponent momentum by changing the direction of the body, it's aimed to hit the chin, however is not a power kick but is great to lure as well.
    4. AU is the base for all the acrobatics in capoeira, also a great movement to get out of trouble.
    5. MEIA LUA RABO DE ARRAIA Is one of the most powerful kicks in Capoeira, it's power comes from the full body rotation while aiming to hit with the heel, there are a few other variations of this kick that can increase the power of it, so be careful when throwing these in the roda.
6.BENÇAO Power push kick, excellent for a straight forward attack, doing it proper can kick someone out of the roda.
    7. RASTEIRA DE FRENTE Excellent counter attack technique it also great at getting you out of trouble while being attack by the opponent.
You can also use it as a way to move around the roda.
    8. PARADA DE MAOS (BANANEIRA) This type of handstand represents the plantain plantations, is simulates the plant. Also great for showing off handstand control.
    9. MACACO Trademark move of capoeira, also first base for learning more difficult transitions and losing the fear of dropping backwards.
    10. XANGO Backhand spring, combining this move with AU can help you increase your body speed when performing difficult moves such as backflips and front-flips.
BONUS - BACKFLIP I put this one as a bonus move, you must have it eventually as a way to round your overall game, having a backflip will help you achieve more hard power jumps.
But it takes time and practice, so if you have good but if you don't eventually you will learn it.
Thats why is a bonus move.

O abominável Siri das Neves I know this applies to my experience with my old group but I've heard other people say this as well: you're value in the eyes of your group and the people you train with is dependent on how much ass you kiss and how involved you are with the group i.e. Fund raising, spending money to go to as many workshops as possible and all in all simply devoting as much time to the group as possible. It becomes almost like a cult.

We learn the basics of capoeira in my dance class for the dance team. My teacher even said this was my best subject learned from the year, I liked it so much because it had my live for dance and fighting. I did karate when I was younger and loved it when my step-dad did boxing. So this, was a blessing when learning it. *:)*

Here are my favorite must-do capoeira moves....
    1. Role (360-degree spin or 180-degree spin in cocorinha position)
    2. Queda de Rins (Kidney Fall)
    3. Bencao ("Blessing" - front push kick)
    4. Cocorinha ("Coconut" - full squat down)
    5. Martelo do chao (hammer kick on the ground - more specifically, a instep kick with the free leg)
    6. Au cortado (cartwheel in bent-leg position)
    7. Au (cartwheel with legs fully straight)
    8. Negativa (squat but with legs crossed, means "negative")
    9. Voo de morengo do chao (variation of the jump move involving a double straight-leg kick with upper body angled, but supported with both hands on the ground)
    10. Cai (or "fall" - you lay back as much as possible into a back bend). The "cai" can end with a queda de quarto or queda de tres (bridge with 4 limbs on ground, or bridge with 3 limbs on ground)

    • @charlessmith263
      @charlessmith263 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@Kryssthealien Of course, I know the "ginga" is also important. It means "swing". Usually this begins the "jogo" after you do the "au" to start the "jogo" after you start movement at the foot of the berimbau.

They say capoeira is just a dance, it's useless as MA, but my friend proved them wrong when he kick swiped the guy in the face. they couldn't even catch him or touch him when he dance fought. kapoeira is the next level Ninjutsu-Teakwando.

Capoeira !!!!! Also, they’ve done tests and proven that a capoeira-style kick is stronger than any other style. All about rhythm and putting all the body weight into it with specific twists and shifts of weight. And, it is a beautiful thing to watch. Contact is unintended, it’s artistic. But... those artists can use their skills for combat, too and I’d rather face Mike Tyson’s punch than a capoeira artist’s kick.

But with the helpful videos and good camera angles and watching each move you do and practicing very slowly and then speeding up as I learn I was able to at least learn the motions for the first 7 moves of the video. Forget the last 3 and the bonus but the first 7 I can work on each day and get them down. Really appreciate you taking the time to make this video!
