Just wow, i watched many videos on how to do full linning on a pencil skirt, yours just gave me all i have been looking for, thank you so much ,i just finished making a skirt now with the twchnique and i love it,thank you
Thank you for a very informative tutorial. I have been learning this method with bodices. I absolutely love the end finish results so I am learning to do it with skirts now. Your video has been more helpful to me than any others I’ve found on TH-cam. Thanks again 🙏 ❤
Huge HUGE thank you for this, it is a wonderful design. I used an unlined pattern for the sizing because I had one around, doubled it for the lining and used your method of construction. It is perfect and I could have never imagined it up in my head. We’ll done
Sincerely, you don't need the gum if you get the folding measurement of the lining and the main fabric correctly. I didn't use it here and anytime I iron the skirt, the hem stays in place.
wooow👏👏👏😘 I tried this and it was good.....Thnks God bless you🙏🥰 but pls make a tutorial on a straight gown with half cut please be detailed about removing the zipper bulge🙏🙏🙏🙏
I really wish you lived next door! I get totally lost at the hem.... Once I can figure it out, I am sure to love this technique. For now, I am still trying to find my way....
Just watch it over and over, you will get it,the first time I watched it, I was completely lost till I watched about three times before I finally got it, it's not that hard
Usually, for ease of wearing, the zipper should be about the same length as the hipline but if the person's hips is bigger than the waist measurement, say a difference of about 10" and above, I'll advise the zipper to be 5" - 6" longer than the hip line.
You're welcome That is even easier. You do not have to make it fully lined. Cut the lining shorter than the lace fabric. Sew the lace and lining separately Sew the zipper and put a slit on the lace but not on the lining Leave the zipper area of the lining unsewn Hem the lining After all these, use the lining to turn the lace at the waist area Then sew the back seam allowance of the lining on the tape of the zipper straight down

U are a great teacher ,My waist is 27 and hip 39,i went into the zip allow by 1 ,then remove 1 for the length of the but it didn't align with the front skirt length .where did i go wrong
Hi. Thanks Following this method, the CF and the CB will not align in height but the sides must align If you watch the sewing tutorial, you’ll also observe this. If that’s the case, just go ahead and sew. It’s not a problem.
Please can this lining enclose zipper be done on a princess dart bodice and skirt to be joined as gown. Please not it will have turn up at the down part of the skirt just like yours. If yes, please how?
Thank you ma But the waist that you went in by 0.5 inches is confusing me Are you sure it won’t affect the waist measurement because you removed from it. Or is it that when sewing you would reduce the sewing allowance at the waist area to make up for it? Please I would appreciate your response
@@matildannaji8289 You’re welcome No, it’ll not affect the waist negatively. Remember the front waistline was slanted. By doing that, you’ve technically increased the width. Don’t worry, you’ll get a firm waistline. Try it and see. You can also read through the comments. ✌️
@ alright ma God bless you and thank you so much for responding Sorry I want to ask again What if I don’t want to add dart Would it still come out nice Or it’s best I add dart?
Thanks for the video, on the front part of the skirt you subtracted 1.5inches from the hip line to get the knee wide, but for the back u subtracted 1inch, won't the back be bigger than the front when sewing
Trust me, if you follow all the steps in this video, you'll get a perfectly fitted skirt. You can also watch this for more clarity: th-cam.com/video/higP8B9YR1o/w-d-xo.html
Hello. After drafting your pattern, measure 1.5-2inches downwards from the waistline all around. Then cut it out. close the dart line on the band pattern. this will form your band pattern. while cutting on fabric, cut the top part of the band pattern on fold. lastly, remember to add 0.5" joining allowance on both the band and the skirt pattern.
Hi You probably didn’t blend all pointy edges well before sewing. You can do this with free-hand or with the french curves Please watch the pattern making video
@@GraceyStitches i tried to do it as you did but I don’t have a French curve that might be why, because everything else is perfect just this point is weird
@@marinevaletudie9617 It’s not too late to adjust it. Okay… use a tailors chalk to draw a subtle arc on that area first (do it on the wrong side of the skirt). Once you are satisfied with the curve you have drawn, sew on that chalk line.
Ball? what kind of fabric did you use? Please ensure to use a breathable fabric and also, ensure to iron as you sew. Do these so that air or moisture is not trapped inside your fabric.
Thank you for watching🌹
